Why?
The state of Kentucky has investigated and determined that I can be trusted to carry a concealed deadly weapon in public. Why should any additional requirements be imposed should I travel onto a college campus? If the state does not trust an individual to carry on a college campus, why should that individual be trusted to carry anywhere else?
Do you believe that people become less trustworthy when they are on a college campus? - pylemountain2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0"Do you believe that people become less trustworthy when they are on a college campus?" No, but are you a college student at this time - have you lived on or around a college campus?
The States of Oklahoma has investigated me, and found me worthy of concealed carry of handguns as well.
However - where I attended college - parties, liquor, fights, hangovers, etc. were pretty much as common as going to class. It would have been very hard to legally carry a concealed handgun (even if I had a license back then). Most states forbid carrying a concealed handgun where liquor is being consumed.
Given this type of environment, it's not unreasonable to request an additional layer of training, testing of the law, etc. - pylemountain2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I'm a HUGE fan of concealed carry and gun rights. Sort of like "top secret clearance" vs. "secret clearance" in the military.
