- KingCook, on 10/10/2007, -10/+43It just shows how important Ron Paul really is (if the media is systematically denying him coverage)
- maz2331, on 10/10/2007, -3/+33The Republican Party's "powers that be" only want to play lip service to the Constitution and freedom, but are not really interested in anything but building their own power.
Paul is a bigger threat to them than a Democratic win. He threatens to dismantle the entire power structure itself, so there would be nothing to sieze control of later. - crud3w4re, on 10/10/2007, -6/+31Yes, hopefully. They're not mentioning him on tv though. Maybe tomorrow? (monday)
- skillip, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19Still gotta wait for the numbers to come out. A million is a lot for one week but it's the over all 3Q numbers that will get more attention.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -9/+24I am glad that Ron Paul is running. It gives people like me who respect the principles this Nation was founded on someone to vote for. Without Dr. Paul in the race there would be no point in voting.
All of the other candidates want to control the people.
They want to force us to buy insurance and force us to allow the federal government to decide which treatment or whether we are treated at all by the medical system.
Doctor paul is the only one, the ONLY one who supports the America we need. - kaelyiesta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Not all states require you to be registered to one of the parties to vote on way or another. Still, it's good that you bring it up. Voting is the last leg of the race and its where so many of us fall short. For those of us who are technically inclined, you can often go to your state governments website and print out registration forms to apply for absentee ballot voting. All you need is a printer and the effort it takes to mail out the filled in paperwork.
- codered1322, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16Ron.... wait for it... Paul.
- Turnar, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Hold on - he won't be able to bring the troops back?
Let's remember that if he is elected, he is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. He could give the orders to bring the troops back ten seconds after inauguration. - Tabou, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Could Ron Paul quadruple his previous quarter's fundraising total like he did in the 2nd quarter? ( as seen here: http://2decide.com/new/page.php?n=2008_us_presiden ... )
- garryw, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12Romney's campaign raised 10 million (plus he gave himself another 7 million) for a total of 17 million this quarter according to rumor.
- cizzlebolicious, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10You must realize that he is not only fundrasing online. That was an exclusive online fundraiser
- davidg11, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Don't campaigns have until October 15 to post results? Or do they all come pouring in today?
- macman2k, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Ron Paul could easily have 5 million raised the quarter. It would be awesome if he managed to pull out 10 million, but we have to assume his average weekly donation is less than 500K otherwise the original challenge wouldn't have been much of a challenge. At 250K/week average + 1.2 million last week would give him 3.7 million.
- gtluke, on 10/10/2007, -8/+15so how many of you ron paul supporters are registered republican and plan on voting in the primary?
i'm going with less than 5%
and i'm going with mass complaining after the primary. - LeadOffMan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I like RP's idea of dismantling the IRS.
But just in case, go to fairtax.org, and check it out - dualaudi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Well, why vote into power a guy that has standards and can't be bought by unions and other interests?
- conceptkid, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Yay, front page!
- madroneDorf, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Ron paul isn't for network neutrality, its regulation, hes against regulation.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7garryw
Yes aren't you so happy with all the special interest money Romney, the political prostitute, has gotten? Aren't you just tickled pink that once he's in office he's going to represent those big corporations and lobbiests that gave so generously, and so ***** you to the people who supported him? Aren't you fricken proud of the fact you're support a gazzillionaire who is trying to buy the election with his own millions?
And what about those corporate donations? ... http://www.whitehouseforsale.org/candidate.cfm?Can ... - NewDirection, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Nice plug. Go Ron Paul!
- LeadOffMan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7yes, and I predict he will.
look out Hillary - Polopaul, on 10/10/2007, -7/+12Ron Paul .... I think I'm going to vote for him.
- AlphaEta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The who is what?
- ThomasPaine23, on 10/10/2007, -8/+12I for one do not welcome our Ron Paul overlords......
But I will welcome PRESIDENT Ron Paul
Got Liberty?
Come get some! - method3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Am I the only one who feels sick just looking at the numbers? Where is all this money going to? I mean Romney spent a total of $32,310,796, $22,648,832 by Obama, $21,926,631 by McCain, $17,849,095 by Clinton, $17,303,045 by Giuliani etc, etc. on campaigning? That is plain disgusting. The only person spending less money than Ron Paul is Mike Gravel, sheesh! Not to mention they're two of the better candidates out there...
- SiNN4R, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8Yes and if Ron Paul doesn't win you can kiss the internet as we know it goodbye. By this point both parties realize how much a threat the internet can be to both their power structures so you can kiss net neutrality goodbye if Ron Paul doesn't win.
- marspidey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4That is not true for Paul but the other candidates are pretty mush corporate whores when you look at campaign contributions.
- kpezzy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Well i just registered as a republican for my Buddy Ron Paul and now im going inside to get my wife to do the same :o)
- marspidey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Already done.
@SouthsideIrish
If Paul wins Primaries then he wins office so I would consider Primaries fairly important - Bilabrin, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Now that's funny. I thought the Bury Brigade were the ones who buried RP stories.
- guntario, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3?? You lost me. How is he a moron?
- SouthsideIrish, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Voting for him in the primary is meaningless. Voting for his delegates is what is important, and that is why it is important for him to get a full slate of delegates out there.
- BizzaroRob, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Legendary
- norman619, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This whole thing makes me sick. It sounds so much like the auctioning off of our government. Which it pretty much is.
- WolverineBlue, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I autobury totalitarian propoganday.
- JosephStalin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Well, I sent in my registration form this morning to change from Independent to Republican just so I can vote for Ron Paul.
BTW, if anyone here is in Florida the deadline to change your party is December 31st. Don't put it off, do it now. - SiNN4R, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Most of the companies that control the Internet are monopolies due to government interference. If we could simply go to another company due to increased regulation network neutrality wouldn't even be an issue but companies use government to give themselves unfair advantages and reduce competition. If we had healthy free trade we wouldn't have to worry about stuff like this.
- marspidey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's all special interest money from the corporations. Ron Paul is one of the few if only that doesn't answer to monopolies and that's why no one will cover a Ron Paul story.
- LeadOffMan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You obviously know nothing about the fairtax.
FU2 - davidg11, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1A couple of people have started pledges for Ron Paul on pledge bank. My personal opinion is that the one I'm linking you to (the goal of 1,000,000 people to donate $100) is a bit..shall we say..lofty? And it should be lowered to 100,000 - 200,000 people instead. However the pledge concept is brilliant in my opinion.
http://www.pledgebank.com/Pauls-100mill - BizzaroRob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I'm on Digg and I'll be voting for Ron Paul
- oldhick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well lets see, 10 seconds after inauguration he won't have even met his military commanders. 10 seconds after inauguration, he won't even have a cabinet in place. 10 seconds after inauguration he won't have even communicated with NATO, the provincial Iraqi government, or any other involved party. 10 seconds after inauguration he won't have a plan in place for a troop reduction. Withdrawing troops is an extremely difficult and technically challenging operation. It will take careful consideration and planning.
As a Ron Paul supporter myself, I don't believe in Internet spam *****. Whenever there is a problem, some nut job says "Ron Paul" will fix that immediately. He is a human being. He is the candidate I support. I support him not because I believe he has magical powers, but because I believe he will take thoughtful consideration into how he directs his policy. We might be in Iraq for several more years, even with Ron Paul as president. If you think that he will immediately just start throwing out rash and chaotic orders than you truly do not understand Ron's position on the issues and his record so far. - guntario, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm now Republican as well, just so I can vote for RP :) It's not very hard. Do it online, or go to the DMV. Took me almost no time.
- madcat033, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Seconded.
- marspidey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Your name says it all.
- fremontdigg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I predict ron paul raised $5.7 - $6 million. Ron Paul's campaign was going to $5m when they had $4.5 million on hand. Then they got $1.2 m vs .5 so I predict $5.7 - $6 mil.
- marspidey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Exactly I should keep what I earn. No IRS would greatly reduce over-spending.
- marspidey, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Yup it's not like they didn't mention other candidates...
- JeromeMavison, on 10/20/2007, -0/+0Youthsoundoff.org Is running a contest where you and your friends can vote to have us donate money to your favorite campaign. the contest is FREE for everyone.
