- maskidat, on 06/16/2008, -1/+2John McCains Credit card debt:
joint account W/American Express: between $10,000-15,000 @ 25.99% interest
accounts in wife's name: between $200,000-500,000 @ 0% interest
account in dependent child's name: between $15,000-50,000
John McCain said economics is not his strong suit.
$10,000-15,000 @ 25.99% interest illustrates his economic illiteracy.- AugustusOsari, on 06/16/2008, -2/+1Or economic apathy. Either one is bad, so yeah.

- PiGuy, on 06/16/2008, -1/+3Or maybe that money is just their month to month spending and it will be paid off. This shows nothing and means nothing.
- SpectralSounds, on 06/16/2008, -0/+1Yeah, well I wish I had the financial "troubles" of either one of them.
- peppino, on 06/16/2008, -0/+2Obama says...
1. In the past 15 years the average family's credit card debt has tripled.
2. The average family's credit card card debt is over 10,000 in the red.
3. Average credit card contract has gone from 1 page a few decades ago to 30 pages today. They are often filled with complicated traps and fine print that only a credit card company executive could understand.
4. Washington D.C. is letting credit card companies get away with it... and it's no wonder because credit card companies are spending millions of dollars financing political campaigns and lobbying congress to get laws written to their liking. In the 1st quarter of this year alone one credit card industry group spent 800 Million dollars on lobbying... and this has to stop.

#1 Could they narrow down obama's 1-5 mil money market number. Really if they are trying to be objective a 4 million dollar swing is huge.
#2 Some credit card companies allow you to have a low/no intrest credit card if you use another one of their cards a certain amount. Not saying this is the case with McCain but it is possible considering how much money there is there - Homerr, on 06/16/2008, -0/+1Why would anyone have a card with 25.99% interest rate?
