- polarbobbear, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5Bennet was actually on the shortlist of candidates to be Obama's secretary of education. He is very well liked here in Colorado, and apparently by others as well.
- yamikaze, on 01/04/2009, -0/+4I think about "Heroes" when I hear Bennet.
- jfreeman, on 01/04/2009, -1/+5What is "politically untested" supposed to mean? Was George Washington "popular but politically untested" before he was elected President? What qualifications do you need but an understanding of the role and limits of government? Senatorial duties are not skilled labor.
FTA: "The surprising move ... perplexed many political insiders, most of whom considered Bennet the darkhorse candidate in a field crowded with big name, political veterans ..."
This basically sums it up. It's a "big surprise" because Coloradans won't be represented by someone chosen by "political insiders." - novenator, on 01/03/2009, -0/+4My heart stopped for second until I realized it was Michael, not Bill Bennet
- novenator, on 01/04/2009, -0/+3During election/debate coverage on CNN, I change the channel when Bill Bennet comes on. His slanted, partisan, right wing commentary makes my blood boil, so I change the channel.
- lolwutpear, on 01/04/2009, -1/+4related by keyword: Jon Stewart owns Bill bennet and his conservative views on Gays
- jackpot, on 01/04/2009, -0/+3I thought to myself, Colorado Gov. Ritter Raps, this is gonna be awesome! Then my dreams were smashed.
- shoppingkart, on 01/04/2009, -0/+3I would tap that.
- redxii, on 01/04/2009, -0/+3You have to be born with experience and understanding in politics.
- Hodor, on 01/03/2009, -1/+4sorry, Gov. Ritter.. but whenever I hear of somebody named Ritter being involved with government I immediately think of "Clear and Present Danger"
- cassholio, on 01/04/2009, -1/+4So, we can expect a swarm of media on this untested, no experience having, nominee for a political position in 3....2....1...
- rkymtnwoman, on 01/04/2009, -1/+3Gov Ritter is a smart guy and I trust his choice. CO is so tired of Republicans. Our last Governor was a nimrod.
- Tonkatsu, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Good one on Ritter, we need more new blood in the senate. Sad his energy initiative didn't win on the ballot, but at least here is one for us Colorado.
- rkymtnwoman, on 01/04/2009, -1/+3ewwww I understand novenator that Bill is a pure S***head!
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -1/+3One has to wonder how a lowly superintendent of Denver Public Schools managed to outbid other candidates.
- magus824, on 01/04/2009, -1/+3I thought it meant "taps" as in "has sex with". Boy, was I mistaken.
- Fjosnisse, on 01/04/2009, -1/+3Didn't Bush trying doing this? And you all blasted him?
***** you all. - counterplex, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2My heart too stopped for a second - I thought it was Noah Bennet. Although that would be interesting.
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Managing DPD is a ***** high end job, meaning it's a tough and challenging job.
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Relative unknown is putting it mildly!
Ritter is a terrific governor and I trust his judgment. I'm glad he didn't pick Hickenlooper (he's too good right where he is) or brother John (who's also good right where he is).
Bill Owens was a major dirtbag. I'm so glad Colorado is a blue state again.
And of course, that bitch Marilyn Musgrave is ON THE WAY OUT. What a bitch. - mnocket, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2No. He's a Democrat with no experience. That's fundamentally different than a Republican Governor. The Democrat is qualified, the Republican - not so much.
- Barackalypse, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Politically untested? Is that code for "might actually uphold the Constitution"? I suppose the good news is, its really hard to imagine him being any worse than the idiots already in Congress.
- georgemason01, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2How could you be born with experience in politics? Living in a uterus for 9 months doesn't offer a lot of opportunities for that.
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -0/+1Ritter, unlike Blago, is a good governor who has integrity.
- FaithclubDotNet, on 01/04/2009, -1/+2Watch it, he's brothers with Noah.
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -2/+2No, he's not.
- miamicat, on 01/04/2009, -2/+2Crashed already?
- Trcoolguy, on 01/04/2009, -2/+1What kind of name is "Bennet?" A name for a BUTTHEAD! That's for SURE!
