Coloradans to vote on "Personhood" plan in November ballot
worldnetdaily.com — With more than enough signatures, pro-life Coloradans are counting on extending constitutional protection to the pre-born when they go to the polls in November. The initiative would restore the right to life to all Americans, especially the unborn, who are indeed, American citizens within the womb.

- DOGODSWILL, on 05/14/2008, -9/+8 Thank GOD for these CHRISTIANS COLORADANS that have taken a stand to fight for GODLY principals .If all GOD fearing AMERICANS will take their lead we could take AMERICA back from the LIBERALS that give the U S A hating MUSLIMS for respect than they do CHRISTIANS.
- proveritas, on 05/14/2008, -0/+6Actually, the vast majority of Muslims are pro-life. The militant Muslims are pro-death to anyone who isn't Muslim. A Catch-22.....
- Terr01, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2This is such *****, at least the "moment of conception" stuff.
So do identical twins count as one person? Does someone with a chimeric disorder get two social security cards? If a natural miscarriage occurs, can the mother be jailed for negligence for not eating enough of some kind of food?
There's a whole lot of biology post-conception and pre-birth that doesn't square away with any normal view of what a person is.
- rcook18, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3The people of Colorado have an additional opportunity to fund social programs for children who have already been born.
- lajaw, on 05/14/2008, -3/+5It'll never pass. Colorado has for the last 20 years been a haven for leftists from the west coast. There are as many Californians there as there are illegals in California. And they didn't leave their politics in California.
- Mergent, on 05/14/2008, -5/+4The Christo-Cultists strike again. I can never quite understand why these people don't focus their time and effort on places where lots of forced abortions take place...like China or India.
- Christianptriot, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3we do - we have had friends spend lots of time in both China and India working for these changes, and in missions to bring clean water, food and the gospel to Chinese and Indian families.
What is a travesty is that other countries see children, born or unborn, as more valuable than liberal Americans who advocate FOr a woman-'s right to kill a living human. - Terr01, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Well, the Vatican did do that thing where they told a lot of Africans that using condoms would not only lead them to hell but also lied that condoms wouldn't help prevent the spread of AIDS. And look at how well that worked out.
- Christianptriot, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3we do - we have had friends spend lots of time in both China and India working for these changes, and in missions to bring clean water, food and the gospel to Chinese and Indian families.
- grecosd, on 05/14/2008, -4/+3I believe, and teach, that there is no difference between a human machine (the mother) to support the fetus (a person) and a hospital machine to support the life of a person – until they both are well enough to support themselves.
- karishore, on 05/14/2008, -4/+5That doesn't even make sense; unless you are an outer space alien.
- HanFastolfe, on 05/14/2008, -1/+4You must be a devil with the ladies, when you explain to them how since they have a uterus, they are merely a machine... ...go get `em tiger...
- Salesti, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Creepy.....really, really creepy.
- chicofaraby, on 05/14/2008, -4/+8No one dies in an abortion.
- Christianptriot, on 05/14/2008, -9/+6You are obviously a an - and I suspect you do not have children. I have looked at each of my chidren's ultrasounds at 18 and 20 weeks - looked at the beating heart, and seen the limbs and bodies move.
I have seen this same comment from you in other Diggs, and can only deduce that you profit somehow from the abortion industry.
You should watch a young mother view an ultrasound of a living fetus inside her womb at 18 or 20 weeks. She could have an abortion at that time, but I would almost guarantee that almost every young mother-to-be who would sit and watch and understand what is taking place inside them at that time would REJECT the notion of an abortion once they saw their child, living and growing inside them.
why do pro-abortionists fear the truth so much?!- chicofaraby, on 05/14/2008, -2/+6I have two kids. You should mind your own business.
No one dies in an abortion.- ABiss, on 05/14/2008, -2/+2Sorry, you can restate an incorrect assertion, but it's still an incorrect assertion. This isn't logic or 'argument' on your part. Just the musings of a one track *****. Anything else to add?
- Christianptriot, on 05/15/2008, -2/+5has your wife ever had an abortion? Or a girlfriend? have you ever talked wtih a woman who has HAd an abortion - years later - who regrets here decision?
Somehow I doubt it.- chicofaraby, on 05/15/2008, -2/+2Every woman I have ever talked to about it regrets the need to have an abortion. No one has sex in order to have an abortion. But they were all sure that they did the right thing for them. And that is their decision, not yours, you nosey, puffed up busybody. Now mind your OWN business.
- Salesti, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3It used to be obvious to a lot of rich white southerners in the USA, and plenty other rich white folks in Europe (etc.) who just wanted the anti-slavery folks to mind THEIR own business. After all, it was OBVIOUS that blacks weren't the same as whites. Not fully human! Kill your unruly slave? No problem! They believed they were doing the right thing for everyone. And then, a bunch of busybody white folks who believed they were WRONG got in their faces, and a lot of them died to set the slaves free.
All the people who believed in slavery were white.
All the people who believe in abortion are born. - Christianptriot, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Your intolerance of being challenged indicates you fear something about this subject. If that is true, you should stay out of the Digg threads on it and spare yourself the agony.
If you simply choose to be rude and personally attack people with name-calling, that is probably even more sad. I am not trying to tell anyone how to live their life - that is a decision that God has given each of us to make. I simply choose to tell others of the grace and forgiveness of God to see if they would like to try living the way He created us to live. It is your choice to do as you wish with your life and body - and everyone else has the same choice.
But God created us to rejoice and spend eternity in Heaven with Him. He'll miss you when you can't show up.- Mnementh2230, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Christianptriot - GOD0s0WORD is like that all the time, check out his comments history. He's a bigot who's using his religion as an excuse to call people names and make himself feel better about his pathetic existence. It's pretty sad, really.

- izackcarson, on 05/14/2008, -2/+4Don't make guarantees you can't deliver on. When I had my first sonogram, my thought was "How the hell am I going to afford an abortion?" I was in no state to have a child at the time and was happy when I miscarried in the 2nd trimester. And, before you make further baseless assumptions, several years later I had a child who is wonderful and well-cared for.
- ABiss, on 05/14/2008, -3/+5The only assumption I'd make is that from your comments, clearly your life is all about you. Well done. Of course, my guess is that in your life, you're surrounded by "people" who are just like you. I'm sure that's worked well for you up till now, just looking at all the good decisions you've already made....
- izackcarson, on 05/14/2008, -1/+4And your assumption would be wrong. Both my disbaled mother and my grandmother who is in her 90's and is quite frail live with me. My views are rooted in being responsible - acknowledging the value of quality of life, not just assuming that life should happen no matter what.
- ABiss, on 05/14/2008, -3/+2The time to be 'responsible' is BEFORE you need an abortion. Post-fact, it is in reality a lack of responsibility that you confess to practicing. Perhaps you should put your mother and your grandmother down if you're concerned about quality of life. You sound awfully confused about the meaning of some basic english words.
- izackcarson, on 05/14/2008, -1/+5Claiming that responsible action can only occur before a situation is apparent contradicts reality. ***** happens. Get used to it and take pro-active responsible measures.
- ABiss, on 05/14/2008, -3/+1You're quite the contradiction Jackson. First - no one said that, and I've clearly posed nothing that contradicts reality. There's no argument there really, just a wimpy non-comeback. Second: By pro-active - would that include using 'contraception'? I mean: It's not like you're some uneducated squatting in the sand third-worlder. You want to be responsible? Start by taking responsibility for the fact that you knew how females become pregnant, knew of many methods to contravene, and used none of them. You claim to value 'being responsible' yet you can't even do so in this simple conversation. No. I think my first impression of you was like most first impressions - right on the money. What you're doing under the guise of calling it 'being responsible' is in reality the process of 'rationalizing guilt.' You killed a kid - your kid - because you couldn't deal with any other outcome. Like contraception, the alternatives to abortion weren't convenient at the time. I understand that in your own view this makes you 'courageous' and 'responsible.' Fine. You're entitled to it, as your grasp of those words is probably as sound as your grasp of 'contradicts', 'quality', and 'proactive' - so where's the harm? Of course, the kid you killed was entitled to a view too. I have my own view as well. Everyone's happy here. Except the dead kid I mean.
- eir574, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2"Second: By pro-active - would that include using 'contraception'? I mean: It's not like you're some uneducated squatting in the sand third-worlder"
Do you seriously believe that contraception is 100% effective? There will always be some people who use contraception correctly and are perfectly responsible about it, but who still become pregnant.
- Christianptriot, on 05/15/2008, -4/+3It is sad that at some point in life people do view children as a burden - without a Savior in anyone's life, life is a burden. I pray you will find the room in your heart that God created for Jesus to occupy. It will lift any burden you have.
My wife and I are raising four children on one income - and we home school - and live in Alaska with some of the highest costs of living in the country - and we do it by the grace and provision of God.

- Terr01, on 05/14/2008, -0/+5Which would be effectively never, according to some Republican voter ID proposals.
- KCLorelei39, on 05/15/2008, -1/+5@chicofaraby:
You've obviously had limited experience with women who have had abortions.
I had an abortion, 24 years ago. It is the absolute worst thing I ever have done in my life, and I will regret it until the day I die.
A human being died that day because I was selfish and wanted a relationship more than I wanted to stand up and be responsible and think of somebody else. I believed a pack of lies about how it was my 'choice' when I knew very well that it was a baby that was going to be destroyed.
I am not alone; there are thousands upon thousands of women who feel as I do.
want to hear the other side of the abortion story? visit www.afterabortion.org OR www.afterabortion.com (not affiliated with each other, but good reference sites about abortion's aftereffects on women)
Or, rent the movie "Bella" for additional perspective on whether or not abortion kills a person.- postingbh, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2So would you classify yourself as a murderer?
- KCLorelei39, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2according to the law, I'm not a murderer. However, according to myself and God - yes, I was a murderer.
I expect your next comment will be to the effect that I deserve to sit in prison for the rest of my days, or be stoned to death, or something like that, right?
I agree - I did deserve a very harsh sentence for what I did, as do all of us who violate God's laws.
man's laws says what I did was legal; Gods laws say it was an abomination to Him, one worthy of death, physical and spiritual.
God, however, loves mercy over punishing us, and has set up the way back home to Him - There's this little thing called forgiveness that God extends to all who basically throw themselves on His mercy, which is what I did do. I've acknowledged my grievous sin (along with many others), admitted that there is no eternal salvation available to me from any other source save through His Son, Jesus Christ who took the just punishment I deserve for this particular sin and many others, and I asked His forgiveness. I accepted Jesus as my Savior, the substitute for the punishment I deserve, which is physical and spiritual death, and I have been forgiven and redeemed from the prison of my past.
Because He died, I shall live with Him forever.- postingbh, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2"I expect your next comment will be to the effect that I deserve to sit in prison for the rest of my days, or be stoned to death, or something like that, right?"
- No, because I don't classify abortion as as murder and more importantly, abortion at the time of the event was not classified as murder. Even if I did, I wouldn't suggest that anyone be stoned to death as I also disagree w/the death penalty.
"I was a murderer."
- I find this interesting. Specifically, you using the past-tense is interesting. I'm wondering why you didn't say, "I am a murderer." - KCLorelei39, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1why did you ask if I considered myself to be a murderer?
I used the past-tense specifically because I no longer am under the penalty of spiritual and physical death for that past sin against God. Look at it this way: Say you are in a great deal of debt, and have not paid. You're under a court order to pay, but still, you haven't paid. In fact, you've been arrested for non-compliance with the court order to pay this debt, and you're standing before the judge, who is about to pass an appropriate sentence punishing you for your failures to pay the debt and for violating the court order.
In other words, you are so outta luck...
Just then, a man appears and offers to pay what you owe, in full, including even the additional penalties about to be imposed for your failure to honor the court order. He volunteers to serve your jail time as well as pay all monetary debts and fines.
The judge agrees, accepts the man's money to pay all your financial debts and fines, and also substitutes this man in your place to serve your prison sentence.
The judge tells you that you are free to go.
Question: are you then still guilty?
