- caponumen, on 02/10/2008, -18/+81Sorry, but Colin Powell flushed away every shred of his credibility in his UN performance and I must assume his judgment in this matter would be just as flawed.........
- ccanojr, on 02/10/2008, -3/+15Colin Powell's performance in the UN notwithstanding, his decision to maintain his options open concerning the 2008 election is not a credibility issue. Now, if his vote is based solely on the Iraq conundrum, I agree with your assessment.
- pintomp3, on 02/10/2008, -7/+17true, but he has a chance to redeem himself.
- rolf, on 02/10/2008, -2/+4You mean if he chooses your candidate?
I would rather see his rationale behind choosing a certain candidate and see if that redeems his credibility, rather than rely on whether or not I simply like the candidate he chooses. Otherwise, there are hacks on all sides that turn out to have chosen correctly by chance.- caleb4mj, on 02/10/2008, -1/+0No, but if he backs Obama right now, when he needs it, I would consider that some redemption.
- rolf, on 02/10/2008, -2/+4You mean if he chooses your candidate?
- Ajajadude, on 02/10/2008, -7/+9Well, I'm willing to forgive if he consistently does the right thing. Which, in my opinion, he's been doing just that.
- dronkmunk, on 02/10/2008, -3/+3He is a CFR member, just like a certain Barack Obama and a certain Hilary Clinton. I don't believe McCain is a member and I am pretty sure Huckabee isn't. So of course he would vote dem. It's just one further step towards world domination. Don't be fooled.

- Barbosa, on 02/10/2008, -3/+7He was just "being a good soldier".
- RobotBuddha, on 02/10/2008, -4/+9Which means I'll trust him in a "just following orders" contest. Otherwise, his credibility is pretty significantly lowered.
- Winston84, on 02/10/2008, -10/+4Don't you mean "a good German" ?
But I agree, this is not a credibility-issue. Can't be because he has none whatsoever . Uncle Powell - niczar, on 02/10/2008, -1/+2He was just following orders.
You know who else was just following orders?
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0f ...- djbon2112, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1Phail :( Fix link plz.
- gandhii, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1A good soldier doesn't follow illegal orders
- DamnLogins, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Colin was a poster boy. My view: He was fed bad information and because of that did what he thought was right at the time. He was duped into doing it by those who should (and did) know better.
I would never vote for him to take office, but I'd certainly listen to his opinion on things to which he has a unique perspective.
Listen, then judge. Don't pre-judge.
- theDunedan, on 02/10/2008, -5/+9Not everyone sees it this way. In 2002, before the senate voted to authorize the war, Powell went to President Bush and warned him that the war was a bad idea. Bush decided not to follow Powell's advice. Then Powell continued to do his job, went to the UN, and reported to the UN what other people had reported to him. Don't confuse the messenger with the message.
As a matter of fact, Obama's strongest option for a running mate is Colin Powell. As I have said before in other digg discussions, if Obama selects Powell as his running mate, he has the presidency locked up.- pimpofpixels, on 02/10/2008, -3/+6No, because I won't vote for Obama if he chooses someone as disgusting as Powell to be his running mate. Powell knew that speech was a house of cards designed for the sole purpose of deceiving the world into war, and he delivered it anyway. I will NOT forgive. I would see him imprisoned for life just like Cheney, Bush, Rumsfled, Rice, and all the other traitors to our common good, and our country's integrity. As our government it too corrupt to even impeach and thus prove these allegations I stand firmly on the notion that they knew they were lying, and that the had all the motive in the world to do so.
- michaelb1, on 02/10/2008, -1/+3I wouldn't go that far but I agree that he needs to be held accountable for what he told the world that day. You get one big mistake in global politics. That was his. No more chances.
- theDunedan, on 02/12/2008, -0/+1"I won't vote for Obama if he chooses someone as disgusting as Powell" A lot of people would say something approximately similar. But not everybody. Just think of all the people who voted for George Bush in 2004. pimpofpixels, I bet you had the wisdom and discernment not to vote for Bush in 04, since we all knew by then that there were no WMDs in Iraq. But there were a whole lot of people for whom that just did not matter enough, so they re-elected Bush even though he lied to us (to use your terminology).
So don't take it too personally when I clarify that my comments are not just about you. When I say Obama would have the election locked if Powell were his running mate, I am referring to the voting habits of the majority, and you seem not to be in that group on this particular issue.

sorry about that - JimmySpaza, on 02/10/2008, -6/+5No surprise here.
- SaperKain, on 02/10/2008, -2/+3Yeah I know. After republicans used him and destroyed his credibility to fool us into oil wars no wonder he will not support those traitors. You have a choice in next election: democrat or the nominee of big oil: John McCain.
- JimmySpaza, on 02/10/2008, -2/+1Yeah, like those Democrats are NEVER beholden to THEIR campaign contributors. Wake up, dude, and get your head out of the sand.

- jimbabb, on 02/10/2008, -12/+26It's nice to know that he'll lie for any party if they need a war.
- TheMachine1, on 02/10/2008, -1/+2And the check clears the bank.
- americangoy, on 02/10/2008, -19/+44Colin Powell lied at the UN to get us into the Iraq war. He knew his argument was bulls**t, and during his speech you could see other countries UN delegates jaws drop and/or nervous snickers, as his argument consisted of a comic book drawing of white vans which he explained cruise the desert and are "mobile WMD labs".
F**k that man.
Go away Colin - in other countries, failures such as yourself are given a gun with 1 bullet so they can kill themselves. In USA, people like him, Bremer (the guy who singlehandedly started the Iraqi insurgancy by dissolving Iraqi Armyon a whim) and Tenet, the CIA chief who lied to get us into Iraq, are given "Freedom Medals".
F**k this traitor.- Ajajadude, on 02/10/2008, -16/+6Yes, because Colin Powell's lie was the ONE thing that got us into the Iraq war. There were no other factors whatsoever.
- Napoleone, on 02/10/2008, -4/+10Hitler didn't carry out his genocide all by himself; should we forgive him because it took more than just his leadership to get it done?
You're an apologists for anyone who will get you what you want. - adooga, on 02/10/2008, -0/+4Who said it was the only factor? In fact the comment you responded to listed 2 other significant individuals who both played major roles in creating this charade - or did you not read that far?
There WERE many factors which got the U.S. into the ridiculous situation it finds itself in today - are you going to dismiss them all as unimportant? Is criticism only valid when you DO identify only one factor? - groovechamp30, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2It wasn't the sole cause, obviously, but he sold his principles and lied knowingly to further the false case for war.
- Napoleone, on 02/10/2008, -4/+10Hitler didn't carry out his genocide all by himself; should we forgive him because it took more than just his leadership to get it done?
- rolf, on 02/10/2008, -0/+12"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing ."
I think Colin Powell would have served the American people and himself better if he had quit before giving the arguments before Iraq. His integrity would be intact.- michaelb1, on 02/10/2008, -0/+4That also may have prevented the war or at least made people stop and think for a second.
- gandhii, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2There was that general who suggested many times more soldiers were needed to succeed in Iraq, but not enough people stopped to think about that. Not sure the over whelming majority of people in DC were all that interested in "thinking", and I don't think they're really into doing that now.
- michaelb1, on 02/10/2008, -0/+4That also may have prevented the war or at least made people stop and think for a second.
- Ajajadude, on 02/10/2008, -16/+6Yes, because Colin Powell's lie was the ONE thing that got us into the Iraq war. There were no other factors whatsoever.
- retr0grade, on 02/10/2008, -10/+20I would think that getting an endorsement from a war criminal would have an enormous NEGATIVE value. Like if Kissinger endorsed Hillary.
- Napoleone, on 02/10/2008, -10/+3The Obamacult needs all the endorsements it can get. Gotta power that bandwagon!
- michaelb1, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2A cult is just a popular movement that you're not a part of.
- Tuxbunta, on 02/10/2008, -1/+1To be a criminal, you must break a law. So please name the specific law Colin Powell broke.
- superflyguy, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2Powell actively worked to promote aggressive warfare -- which is explicitly banned under international law (yes, that quaint concept) -- and he distorted the facts and disseminated known falsehoods in the process. Following WWII, the Nuremburg Tribunal described the following as a "crime against peace":
(i) Planning, preparation, initiation or waging of a war of aggression or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances;
(ii) Participation in a common plan or conspiracy for the accomplishment of any of the acts mentioned under (i).
Colin Powell knowingly lied to convince the American public to support an unnecessary war that has killed around a million Iraqis and more than 4,000 Americans. Whether he did it out of a sense of loyalty or because he was as true believer is of no importance.
He is not a good man.- SC4RP, on 02/10/2008, -0/+0Can we use that on Bush? Elizabeth Holtzman from the Nixon impeachment, has a statement explaining why we should DO IT NOW!!
- Napoleone, on 02/10/2008, -10/+3The Obamacult needs all the endorsements it can get. Gotta power that bandwagon!
- chicofaraby, on 02/10/2008, -12/+22Colin Powell? The same guy that lied to us about Iraq's WMD? Who gives a ***** what he thinks? He's a liar.
- ColonelJessup, on 02/10/2008, -13/+1And you are a douchebag, as evidenced by your ignorant comment.....
- Napoleone, on 02/10/2008, -18/+5All the more reason not to vote for Obama.
- michaelb1, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2You won't vote for Obama becuase Powell said he may not endorse a republican? Think it over. Vote Obama.
He's like Obi Wan in Star Wars, our only hope.
- michaelb1, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2You won't vote for Obama becuase Powell said he may not endorse a republican? Think it over. Vote Obama.
- RogerTourbiner, on 02/10/2008, -5/+18I think he should just hang it up. It's a bummer, the guy had such a great chance for significance. I think he would have made a fantastic presidential candidate before he sold out.
- ColonelJessup, on 02/10/2008, -8/+1Sold out? Does that include selling out to his COUNTRY? Dude, you have A LOT to learn.
- Steeple, on 02/10/2008, -0/+3what is it with you?

- mooseontheloose, on 02/10/2008, -19/+5And I'd bet anything about 90% of his decision to back Obama would be racially motivated
- felman87, on 02/10/2008, -5/+9yeah, cause the last person he voted for (bush) was also black....
- mmmmmbiscuits, on 02/10/2008, -12/+3.....And I'd bet anything about 90% of his decision to back Obama would be racially motivated.....
In other words, no different than many other Obama supporters. - bignerd, on 02/10/2008, -3/+2Dude, you are a race bater. Just about everything you post has to do with race. It's people like you that make race an issue when it really isn't. You sound just as bad as the black man complaining that "The Man" is holding him down!
- brainboy77, on 02/10/2008, -5/+20he lost all of his credentials while working under bush. poor guy, he was pretty smart too...

Depleted uranium is a weapon of mass destruction!

- amightywind, on 02/10/2008, -11/+5Let history judge Powell for what he is. As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs he shrank from destroying a retreating Iraqi Republican guard in Gulf War I, allowing the Saddam problem to fester for 10 more years, and setting the stage for the difficult slog that is Gulf War II. He was a weak general. He served an undistinguished term as Secretary of State and was not the most loyal of President Bush's appointees. Aside from his being black, I don't know why he is influential.
- yfph, on 02/10/2008, -0/+3If only he displayed his disloyalty to Bush II during or prior to his UN speech regarding Iraq's supposed WMDs.
- EtherGnat, on 02/10/2008, -1/+6You're an idiot. Powell didn't shrink from destroying Iraq--that's not even his call to make. H. W. Bush chose not to continue into Iraq because he knew there was no way to create a stable government in the aftermath of an invasion. If only his son had been that smart.
- Bercebu48, on 02/10/2008, -10/+3Why? Because he is black? Give me F*ck*ng break.

- mal1964, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1 Oprah Winfrey and Ted Kennedy in past stories were extremely hated on digg . Please feel free to search their names on digg for yourself. I think this is why no one will take digg seriously for their voting decisions

- SOS84, on 02/10/2008, -0/+6“I will ultimately vote for the person I believe brings to the American people the kind of vision the American people want to see for the next four years,”
“A vision that reaches out to the rest of the world, that starts to restore confidence in America, that starts to restore favorable ratings to America. Frankly, we've lost a lot in recent years.”
So why doesn't he just say he is supporting Obama or Clinton? Why beat around the bush. We all know that the world is not going to trust our nation again if someone who supports Bush's Iraqi misadventure is in office.- ZenMojo, on 02/10/2008, -2/+1He's supporting Obama. He wants to make sure Obama wins first.

- EtherGnat, on 02/10/2008, -1/+2Wesley Clark would be a great choice. Powell has more penance to do before I would be willing to vote for him.
- gandhii, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1I would have liked to have seen Wesley Clark as the Dem's nomination 4 years ago instead of those idiots who couldn't win an election that was handed to them in a basket.
- jimbabb, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1It would help solidify Obama's warmonger credentials.
- heystoopid, on 02/12/2008, -1/+1Total and absolute political suicide !
- shadows88, on 02/10/2008, -2/+20Colin Powell knew he was lying; if you watch any interviews with him he makes it very clear that he knew it was a phony war. That's the reason he left his position, and I commend him for not being afraid to show his support.
- ShnowDoggie, on 02/10/2008, -1/+2I am not so sure that he thought it was all a lie. If he knew it was a lie, then he really sucks. I think that he might have had some doubts, but overall he trusted the info they were selling him.
- theDunedan, on 02/10/2008, -0/+4My recollection of that time is pretty good. Even the French thought Sadam still had the WMD. That's why they were saying "give him more time." If they did not believe some WMD were there, they would have been saying so prominently in the UN.
In other words, almost everyone believed Sadam had the weapons. At the time, people who opposed the war were saying things like "more time" or "use some other method of deterent."
BYW, I would like a link to "any interview with him" in which "he makes it very clear that he knew" his speech and testimony to the UN was a lie. I really want to see this. shadows88, please post a link. Thanks.
- theDunedan, on 02/10/2008, -0/+4My recollection of that time is pretty good. Even the French thought Sadam still had the WMD. That's why they were saying "give him more time." If they did not believe some WMD were there, they would have been saying so prominently in the UN.

- apathysucks, on 02/10/2008, -6/+32As I recall, Colin Powell came out and was primarily against the war, which is why he stepped down - he was fed Bush's propaganda, just like the rest of us. When he realized what was going on, that the war was totally bunk and without merit, he stepped down.
He also has said he regrets his part in what happened, and as such, has stayed away from politics. You can't tell me this man doesn't carry the war as a huge, scarring burden on his shoulders every day, unlike Rumsfeld, Bush, Rove, etc.- dagamer34, on 02/10/2008, -0/+6Ditto. Out of all the people in Bush's cabinet, he's the only one that actually tells people he was wrong about the war in a straightfoward manner (and this was back in 2004 before it became a truly ugly mess). I think he has redeemed himself already by staying away from politics right now.
- Tuxbunta, on 02/10/2008, -2/+2??? I watch a LOT of news, and I have never once heard Colin Powell say that he regretted anything. EVER. Also what knowledge do you have that shows he was fed propaganda. I think you are simply pulling it all out of you a**.
PS- Just one credible link is all I need. - aazzyett, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3596033.stm
- heystoopid, on 02/12/2008, -1/+1Nice to see you are still falling for that old propaganda line of total absolute fiction , for obviously you have totally overlooked the simple fact that he got good old Ollie to to be the fall guy in the Iran Contra Affair !
One should question everything and not accept blindly the obvious fiction and propaganda he puts out to avoid telling the whole truth all of the time !
But putting it in simple terms , all pathological liars will put up very convincing vacuous arguments twisting tiny shreds of truth to avoid facing the consequences of their questionable activities period !

- Picaroon, on 02/10/2008, -6/+7I have great respect for that man. I'll be interested to see what comes of this.
- skyshock1, on 02/10/2008, -1/+2Really? Unless I'm missing sarcasm, I can't for the life of me think of why anyone would have respect for him after his Yellow Cake/WMD speech to congress that led us into the Iraq invasion.

- sizzzzlerz, on 02/10/2008, -1/+6Powell is directly responsible for this iraq *****. His reputation is just slightly higher than the idiot-in-chief. He knew bush was full of ***** and he still went before the UN with those photoshopped pictures. As a result, some 4000 of the soldiers he used to command are dead, thousands are wounded, and the US has been weakened to a degree thought impossible just 20 years ago.
I could give a rat's ass about anything powell says or does. Like bush and cheney and the rest of the neocon traitors, I want him to just go away and to live in shame for the rest of his life. - W00DR0W, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1"Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here." - Krodis, on 02/10/2008, -0/+3Bloomberg/Powell 08?
Think a billionaire and a general couldn't get some votes?
I'm not gonna be as cynical about Colin Powell as a lot of people here are going to be. I think he realized he was in a terrible position in the Bush administration and got out. Sure, what he did while he was there hurt his reputation and his credibility a bit, but I'm not about to completely discredit the man like most of you seem willing to be.- manicallday, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1I would rather see Obama/ Clark.
- heystoopid, on 02/12/2008, -1/+1He dug his own grave from 1968 onwards !
- BadFast, on 02/10/2008, -1/+4If Powell endorses Obama it will be huge news. Most people don't even know how we got to Iraq, and they don't remember that he lied. The story will be: Gen. Colin Powell (Republican) thinks Obama is the man to be the next president. A very big deal.
- chuckpenzone, on 02/10/2008, -1/+4Maybe he realizes what he did/for/under the Bush administration was wrong and he's trying to distance himself from the oil hungry Oil machine? McCain is a Bush clone!
- chuckpenzone, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2Sorry I meant Oil Hungry War Machine.
- bredren, on 02/10/2008, -7/+11Colin Powell is a smart, honorable man whose biggest mistake was to serve under George W Bush. It's unfortunate he ended up being a fall guy for Bush/Cheney. Don't kill the messenger, haters.
- binjder, on 02/10/2008, -5/+1colin powell, rupert murdoch and all the neocons support hillary...the question is: what will hillary do once she becomes prez? what is the agenda here...what's coming?
they r setting up mccain to be the fall guy and lose to hillary in the presidential race. the same tactics was used by the elites in the clinton/dole campaign...dole was the fall guy to ensure clinton's second term.
and, just to be safe, hillary/obama will team up and ensure the win...
barack/clinton...no difference..truly. look at their policies before jumping on the bandwagon...nearly identical.
hillary clinton = corrupt puppet.
barack obama = corruptable puppet.
there is only one true patriot running still, and it's not huckabee.... - dairien, on 02/10/2008, -4/+4I'm not sure why everyone is bashing Colin Powell.
- pimpofpixels, on 02/10/2008, -1/+5Then you didn't pay much attention in the months leading up the the Iraq war.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -4/+4I payed attention. Powell did his best to serve his country, to the best of his ability, based on the best intelligence available at the time. Where were you?
- pimpofpixels, on 02/10/2008, -2/+4Then you my friend are a fool. It was plain as day that they were presenting whatever "intelligence" they could find which could be distorted to support their desire to start a war regardless of it's credibility. This was obvious at the time but is also blatant in hindsight since all of his claims have since been proven false. If you can not, even at this point, even after no WMDs were found admit that Colin Powell is a traitor to our country, that he served an evil cause, and that the "best intelligent available" is a complete lie, then you may be beyond hope and should never in good conscience vote again.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -4/+1Please. Call me what you will, the worst thing you can credibly accuse Powell of, is being wrong on at least one occasion. He has done more for this country that you or I could ever hope to, and I will stand by this claim even if he decides to support one of the democratic candidates
- pimpofpixels, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2I completely disagree. He has done more to harm our country than you and I either will. He did his part to sink this country into a quagmire, which will cost us much more than the trillions of dollars of debt it's led to. It's cost us our credibility. It's cost the lives of innocent people, and it's cost us the promise of a peaceful future. To do nothing is better than to do harm, and therefore Powell has done less for this country than he would of had his parents never met.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -4/+4I payed attention. Powell did his best to serve his country, to the best of his ability, based on the best intelligence available at the time. Where were you?

- ericdano, on 02/10/2008, -4/+1Colin Powell's opinion matters as much as Jimmy Carters. Or John Stewarts. Or Keith Ogerman's.
- ZenMojo, on 02/10/2008, -0/+3You are definitely hanging around the wrong crowd.
- aadyss, on 02/11/2008, -0/+0It has always been MY dream to hang around the "I am owed entitlements" and the "never ever would I ever never fight for my freedom". Of course the latter is stated as, "it just isn't a "just" war." Justice, as the the liberal moral outlook, must be severely relative.
- heystoopid, on 02/12/2008, -1/+1Nice , with the latter a man who only ever told the truth with very sound economic management skills(forgotten how he killed stagflation I see) together with a the former a known pathological liar who still makes a living from telling lies , a very strange choice indeed !
- ZenMojo, on 02/10/2008, -0/+3You are definitely hanging around the wrong crowd.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -4/+3Powell has made it clear on a few occasions that the speech he gave at the UN and decision to go to war in Iraq were based on the best intelligence that existed at the time. Much of this inelegance was gathered and handed over from the previous administration, and believed to be accurate by both parties.

Hillary Clinton often makes the case that “if I knew then what I know now I would have voted differently”. The reality is, you don’t get to make decisions today based on what you will learn later. You, me, and even the president, have to make decisions today based on the information at hand.- pimpofpixels, on 02/10/2008, -0/+4I knew it was ***** the moment I heard it.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -2/+1Please show me where you wrote it or somehow recorded it at the time. I smell *****.
- heystoopid, on 02/12/2008, -1/+1Well , I guess you missed the obvious planted photo shopped pictures he used often in his lecture !
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -2/+1Please show me where you wrote it or somehow recorded it at the time. I smell *****.
- heystoopid, on 02/12/2008, -1/+1Just a pointless excuse of gee you keep catching me as a pathological liar , but I don't care one iota sucker !
- pimpofpixels, on 02/10/2008, -0/+4I knew it was ***** the moment I heard it.
- pimpofpixels, on 02/10/2008, -1/+9Sorry Colin. I'll never forgive you for that ingenuous Anthrax speech at the UN. Your legacy will be as an instrument of lies; a puppet mouth piece for a crooked administration you now reject.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2here is a trascript from a couple of left leaning pundits, made neare the same time period in question.
BILL MOYERS: President Bush's recent speech to the American Enterprise Institute, he said, let me quote it to you. "The danger posed by Saddam Hussein and his weapons cannot be ignored or wished away." You agree with that?
JOE WILSON: I agree with that. Sure.
BILL MOYERS: "The danger must be confronted." You agree with that? "We would hope that the Iraqi regime will meet the demands of the United Nations and disarm fully and peacefully. If it does not, we are prepared to disarm Iraq by force. Either way, this danger will be removed. The safety of the American people depends on ending this direct and growing threat." You agree with that?
JOE WILSON: I agree with that. Sure. The President goes on to say in that speech, as he did in the State of the Union Address, is we will liberate Iraq from a brutal dictator. All of which is true.
Joseph Wilson, Advisor to John Kerry 2004 Presidential Campaign

February 28, 2003 - manicallday, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2I wouldn't really say that he lost all credibility because of the war. I think Powell got painted into a position because he was one of the few dissenters of the war, that was on the Bush administration. That's why they made him make the case. He was seen as the biggest skeptic. I think that if he just said no, he would have had lost some political positioning on how the war was fought. I think he then resigned, from the administration, once his demands were finally met. Whatever that was, I'm sure that without it, the results of the invasion may have been worse. If that's actually possible.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1Either Powell believed what he was saying was true, or he is a liar and deserves no credibility. I believe that Powell, just like everyone ells who had access to the best intelligence information available at the time, believed that what he was saying was true, or likely true. Gathering accurate intelligence from a closed society is difficult. Powell knew this and his testimony reflects this.
- manicallday, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1You're making this really black or white. That's not how politics works. He probably lied. His foundational classical realist views of international policy proves this. The truth is found when you ask the question why. The answer is always gray.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1I'm sure that when you grow up and pull your head out of your ass, you will find that it is brown.
- manicallday, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1I don't understand why this is so personal for you - but whatever. If it's that important to you then you're right.
- Jamihabs, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1I'm sure that when you grow up and pull your head out of your ass, you will find that it is brown.

- Chupacabra82, on 02/10/2008, -0/+2Don't you just hate this stuff? The UN speech was a bunch of junk and he regrets it yadda yadda yadda but let's talk about this for a second. He obviously knows who he hopes will win. Who doesn't?
He should stop being wuss (again) and just come out with it. - retnull, on 02/10/2008, -1/+3I like Colin, so I prefer to think of him like this: he's not Bush's liar, he's Bush's punk. He got punked into the UN speech. He's not the type to consider the possibility that the president of the US gave him a pack of lies to present to the world.
The sad part, the tragedy, is that he knows now that he was punked, but can't say so. Probably he thinks he'll look worse if he says so publicly, because he values loyalty. He's wrong. He was too loyal to power, and not loyal enough to the truth.
A sad end for a good man. Kind of like some Greek tragedy.- smek2, on 02/10/2008, -0/+1I still remember him wielding forged evidence of Iraqs WMDs at the UN.
- linharesalex, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1and even NOW he's still wielding to power... of Obama or Hillary. He changed alongside the political climate.
- Izult, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1That’s a little how I view him as well but I also see his utter dismal failures as well. If he didn’t know that the case he presented before the UN was complete and utter bunk at the time he presented it he knew shortly thereafter. His resignation was nothing more than an attempt to distance himself from Bush and his ilk. He could have, and in my personal opinion, SHOULD have done the patriots duty and moved for Impeachment at the same time he was resigning, or at least exposed the lie for what it was and owned up to his own responsibility in that lie. Instead he chose to remain silent on the issue and continues to do so and in my eyes, that damages any integrity he had left, and therefore any opinion he has on a candidate means nothing.
- smek2, on 02/10/2008, -1/+3That bastard. Once a liar, always a liar. I still remember him wielding forged evidence of Iraqs WMDs at the UN.
- heystoopid, on 02/12/2008, -1/+1Actually the lies go much deeper then that try the year of his second tour of Vietnam when as an Army Major he wrote the manual on how to be indifferent and thus avoid the mention of war crimes which has been in use since that day forward !
It is neatly summed up by one Pfc Eriksson "Nobody cares, Meserve. I told everybody. I told them. You don't have to worry. You don't have to try to kill me, man. I told them, and THEY DON'T CARE!"
