"Good! War (unfortunately) is about death and destruction. Taking away weapons from us and our allies doesn't make us more humane, it hurts our ability to win."
There will always be conflict. If you believe that your ends make you justified in using reprehensible means, you will keep doing reprehensible things. A person that does reprehensible things is reprehensible.
I just do not understand how people can fail to grasp this. If you do evil, you are evil. How difficult of a concept is that? Being on the side of "the good guys" as defined by you yourself makes no difference. Killing is killing. Dead innocents are dead innocents.
The very `logic` that you use is how those you condemn justify their means. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i'll remember you're cool with it when i cluster bomb your neighbors house and, oops, a couple clusters hit your house.

I get tired of straw men. You may burn yours on your own. - davenp35, on 11/06/2007, -2/+1Soooo, you're a pacifist to the point of thinking we shouldn't have fought WWII? We shouldn't defend our nation from imminent destruction form our enemies (Nazism, Comunism, Islamofascism)? I have no problem standing before God and explaining why I killed an intruder who came to rob and kill my family (hypothetical). I have a hard time understanding how people can be as blindly naive as you.
