- Dewhead, on 02/03/2008, -0/+11It is outrageous, but not unbelievable. This woman is a true socialist. Last year she was saying she would take the profits of oil companies for the govenment. Sounds like Chavez.
- Barbrady, on 02/04/2008, -0/+5Hillary in 2004: We are going to take things from you for the common good!
- markgl, on 02/04/2008, -0/+3No ***** way man! That is probably the most anti-American thing I've ever heard! Force people and penalize them for not doing so?
- handstrongpimp, on 02/04/2008, -0/+3this bitch is crazy...
vote for the black guy... - Grimee, on 02/04/2008, -0/+2And people support this crazy *****? The Govt. forcing it's citizens to support an industry is beyond crazy! Yes, I know this "industry" is important. But, if it can't support itself, it needs to change it's own business model.
I knew this bitch was crazy. But, this is beyond crazy..it's scary. - govsucks, on 02/04/2008, -0/+2So we have young healthy people who don't feel they need health insurace and would rather spend what little money they have on things they want or NEED. Then along comes the most selfish, self-righteous type of human that walks the face of earth, the socialist. The socialist uses the force of government to take what the young person has worked for, cause nobody knows whats best like government. Meanwhile, people on Digg are worried about the government listening to their phone calls while begging for stuff like this. Government has every right to listen to your phone calls in the name of the common good. This is what you get with a liberal interpretation of the Constitution. The government does whatever it wants in the name of the "common good". But wait, if you think it will stop at this you are wrong. That speech you gave is a threat to the common good, that news article you created is a threat to the common good. Thank leftists for opening pandoras box and handing the contents to government.
- Ceeman, on 02/04/2008, -0/+2As if taxes didnt already tap our pay. Wish more people would get mad over government asserting a right to your money up front.
- TrevaLVF, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1What she is advocating is not the original universal health care.
The real universal health care, which Dennis Kucinich pushes for, could be controlled by the public, not politicians, even formed by the public, not politicians, and is entirely voluntary. It means, it is another option.
What Hillary is pushing for, as is Obama, as was/is Edwards and others, is to privatize Medicaid and Medicare, to force people to buy insurance from a for-profit insurer, seek help from profit-based clinics and hospitals, one way, or another. They are serving the insurance and health care industries. You'd have known it if you checked any web source that shows which sources are bribing what candidates.
It is not what Dennis Kucinich was offering. What they did was swipe the phrase "universal health care" from progressives that came up with the idea of a voluntary investment workers, employers and others could make, without taking away anybody's options, or forcing anybody to pay. But Democratic voters usually reject the candidates with the best ideas, because they're too infatuated with the photogenic media darlings that talk and talk without really saying much of any substance.
Kucinich has been fighting for years for a living wage. The living wage would mean cost of living adjustments to ensure that employees weren't being paid poverty-level wages (minimum wage, for example) by employers that made millions, or billions of dollars in profits, in part, as a result, plus through jacking up prices to also increase their profits. What Dennis also has been fighting for, as have two other mostly ignored candidates, is to get our jobs and industries back and to end this cycle of corporate welfare provided by the politicians that do not want to see him back in Congress.
Once again, Democrats have been voting against themselves. - TheVigilante, on 02/04/2008, -0/+1This ***** isn't MY president! I'll be damned if more money is taken out of my paycheck than already is!
- Ghoztt, on 02/04/2008, -1/+2Wow. Anyone who doesn't think she's a Socialist bitch now is beyond help.
- hamburglar03, on 02/04/2008, -1/+0I for one welcome our new socialist overlords.
