- dan360man, on 06/03/2008, -7/+12Gotta give her credit for one thing, though: She sure as hell has made this one interesting race.
- BCCStu, on 06/03/2008, -2/+15It was interesting when the math made sense...but lately she has just been delaying the inevitable.
- ColonelTribune, on 06/03/2008, -4/+3Until the other day, it still seemed that she COULD have a chance. Perhaps party heads asked her to stand down.
But I wonder if she would still be a viable candidate in 2012 or 2016. - KingGoonie, on 06/03/2008, -21/+5So... the fact that she has even more of the popular vote then Obama, and that number ahs increased since last week... the math makes LESS sense?
- Rbstr, on 06/03/2008, -0/+14Kinge Goonie, your wrong and you should know that.
If you decide to count all the voters, including caucus voters, Obama comes out ahead.
The caucus votes better count, considering they did everything according to the rules, and you've even got a compromise on Florida and Michigan. - MonexFRAUD, on 09/18/2008, -0/+0You should probably think about investing in gold and silver in these troubled times. Gold and silver can be a good hedge against economic volatility as long as you're not doing a leveraged trade. http://www.monexfraud.com You may wish to invest in the gold ETF (GLD) or the silver ETF (SLV) in a non-margin account. This is the least expensive way to invest. If you feel a need to to take delivery of your metals be extra cautious about who you buy from. Just wait for the inevitable SNL and talk-show appearances... all in an attempt to boost her ego and convince the public she can laugh off (err, cackle) this defeat- SPThom, on 06/03/2008, -0/+8You know who did a good job of that? Bob Dole. Just sayin', I liked him a lot more after he lost in '96 than while he was campaigning.
- jeffhansen, on 06/03/2008, -2/+1I liked Steve Forbes on SNL, especially during the roofer skit.
John McCain seems like this election season's "Bob Dole". Party leaders must feel he's "earned" it.
Back in November, McCain was no where on the Republican Primary radar. The fix must have been in for him. - kelty1980, on 06/03/2008, -4/+3Please, Please, Do not let Hildog be the VP. That will ruin everything and I will have to vote for McCain!!!
- MacEnvy, on 06/03/2008, -2/+5That's a pretty ***** stupid statement.
- VinceNoir, on 06/03/2008, -4/+1None of the three people currently in the running are worth throwing your support behind. McCain will do nothing to improve the status of the U.S. and keep us from further destruction. The U.S. is already so damaged from eight years of Bush, McCain will simply let it go on. This is not the country I was born in, it's become a hellhole.
Clinton is a liar. She's simply too friendly to big-business interests and only pays lip-service to the progressive causes that I believe in.
Obama is an unknown quantity. That could be good or bad, but I suspect no matter what his true intentions are (good or bad) he won't be able to do much. The ***** lunatic corrupted righties will do everything they can to stand in his way if he's actually doing something for the common good (which is not a lie no matter what some ***** Randian might think). So he'll be *****-blocked his entire time in office should he win. If he loses, the black population will definitely be justified in thinking they've been screwed by whites again. God knows what might happen then.
All in all, there are no good candidates. I would vote for someone who would put a hammer to the heads of the current crew, personally. Some people in the U.S. just need to be eliminated once and for all so we can get on with the business of making life in the U.S. fair for everyone. (Yes, fairness means that the greedy lose out. Too ***** bad for them.)
- jabberwolf, on 06/03/2008, -20/+4UM "Thank goodness...I'm so sick of her."
Obamatads still hearing and believing what they want regardless of want.
They now not only refuse to read articles, they cant even read HEADLINES!
This rumor was wrong and false to begin with and started from Huffington post - Thank you digg for promoting lies so feverishly - it made it to the big time. (hangs head - this is so ***** embarrassing! )- yojiffyskippy, on 06/03/2008, -9/+1Go easy on them. The Obama-bot minds are exploding everywhere because this article got diggs AND it's not from Huffington-comPost. It's mind blowing!
- papipablo, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4Is "Obamatad" some sort of insult? Even your attempts at humor belie a lack of intelligence.

- chanop, on 06/03/2008, -3/+9I really don't think she'll ever officially concede, which means she wont be out there campaigning for Obama, which means it'll be much harder to get those bitter Hillary Supporters. As someone commented in our local news paper, "When is Hillary going to come back to NY and do all the things she told the rest of the country she did for us"
- chanop, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3CNN Breaking News:
Hillary Clinton tells New York lawmakers she is open to being Barack Obama's running mate, The Associated Press reports.
I'm either wrong (very possible), or she'll only concede if she's his running-mate- NSResponder, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1She's "open" to getting a consolation prize that she doesn't deserve? Well, isn't that special.
-jcr - dynamojoe, on 06/03/2008, -0/+0I was thinking the same thing. It's her last card to play. I don't think it's a good card, because if she plays it and keeps her futile campaign going, she further fractures the party. It's too divided as it is.
- NSResponder, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1She's "open" to getting a consolation prize that she doesn't deserve? Well, isn't that special.
- humperdeath, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2She wont give up for at least another 4 years!
- caferrell, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3In order to get this frigid calculating monster to quit we need some wooden stakes.
- rchargel, on 06/03/2008, -2/+1She will concede only that he has won the Democratic nomination. She is not withdrawing from the race. My guess, Hillary will run against the Democrats as an independent. Yes, she is just that nuts, hmmmm.. maybe Reform Party then.
- NSResponder, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1She may be that nuts, but the Reform party sure as hell isn't.
-jcr - dynamojoe, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1She may want to pull a Lieberman, but she'd really be pulling a Nader. If she goes independent the Republicans aren't going to vote for her but many Democrats will. The end result would be President McCain.
- NSResponder, on 06/03/2008, -1/+1She may be that nuts, but the Reform party sure as hell isn't.

- JamesJanega, on 06/03/2008, -7/+11Seems like this will let her staff start working on the Obama campaign -- that may -- MAY -- help party unity a little bit. Already, McCain's planning a primetime speech tonight that one would expect to level fire at the presumptive Democratic nominee.

- JamesJanega, on 06/03/2008, -2/+13That's not what her campaign officials are telling reporters -- she'll concede the delegates, won't suspend campaign yet, will allow her staffers to leave. But will say tonight that Obama has the delegate count to cross the threshhold.
- JamesJanega, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4Wait, maybe you're right!
Wall Street Journal's moving away from Associated Press report: 'The campaign released a two-sentence statement this morning in response to the AP's report: "The AP story is incorrect. Senator Clinton will not concede the nomination this evening."' Why are other campaign officials confirming this at other news outlets? Confusing.- ColonelTribune, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1The story is updated with a link to the WSJ report.
- KingGoonie, on 06/03/2008, -0/+6CNN is now reporting she won't concede

- FallOutBoyTonto, on 06/03/2008, -0/+7how do you change the title after it being submitted¿
- ColonelTribune, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5You e-mail support@digg.com. They're quite fast, actually.
- chanop, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5*****, I was wondering why everyone above was making comments in the sense that she had conceded. She will not concede, I'm positive of it. She'll claim she's "suspending" her campaign in case something bad happens, which means she wont be trying to unite Hillary Supporters/Obama Supporters
- betterth, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4Of course she's conceding tonight after the polls close.
Of course she will deny it up until the very last second. It would affect voters in the voting states if it's announced she concedes before they vote. They wouldn't bother voting for her. Or at least, a lot wouldn't. It could diminish voter turnout more than it already has.
I wouldn't put any stock in the campaign screaming 'not true'.

I mean YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! - zebco, on 06/03/2008, -4/+20Regardless of what she does this evening, she has damaged her name and credibility beyond repair at this point. Democrats will see her as a divider, a power hungry, overly ambitious career politician who is more concerned about her personal gains rather than the gains of her party. So let her continue to kick if she wants to; she's showing her true self to the reps on the hill that she has to work with and it will make for an interesting segue into whatever career she will choose next after burning so many bridges.
- Chode2235, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5Not to mention she puts herself above her country.
- gwhardyiv, on 06/03/2008, -0/+6This coy teetering between concession and "fighting on" is a despicable way to manipulate the media. She designed this speech to look like a concession, and now she's going to stand on the podium, with all eyes on her, and claim that the race isn't over yet - all in attempt to keep the focus on HER, just so that she can leverage her way onto the ticket.
PLEASE, Barack. This is the type of crap we're all tired of.

- DeadPlasmaCell, on 06/03/2008, -6/+4From MSNBC: "BREAKING NEWS: Clinton tells N.Y. lawmakers she's open to being Obama's VP candidate"
- GeauxLSU, on 06/03/2008, -8/+6She could run as an independent!
- jkozuch, on 06/03/2008, -4/+4I admire her tenacity. Almost makes me wonder if she's actually a Republican. You know what they say... if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck...
Someone should give her a reality check. It's over for her. It was over for her before it even began.- opensourcer, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1It it walks like an elephant, trumpets like an elephant, and looks like an elephant...then she must be a Republican! I think this is more fitting.
- cpotts73, on 06/04/2008, -0/+0I was told that she was a Republican when she was younger (in college?). She's a convert (ish).
- dagamer34, on 06/03/2008, -0/+7Edwards said the same thing the day before the left. Presidential candidates don't like other people telling them when it's time to go, even when they themselves know the end is near.
- username484767, on 06/03/2008, -1/+9sheesh, go away already you annoying cow
- laserdog, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5Can anyone explain why she would concede that Obama has enough delegates, but *not* drop out of the race?
- kingmanic, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3super delegates. If enough of the can be swung over/bought off she may still get the nom.
- gavin422, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Or something might, you know, happen to him. You never know. Say, for instance, two blocks of concrete attach themselves to his feet and he falls into a lake. You have to be prepared for these things, you know.
NOTE TO SECRET SERVICE: I'm kidding. But Hillary might not be. - getabrain, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1According to AP, it's because she thinks she has a better chance at the VP slot if she doesn't end her campain.
"The advisers said Clinton has made a strategic decision to not formally end her campaign, giving her leverage to negotiate with Obama on various matters including a possible vice presidential nomination for her."

It's all about the power.
If I was Obama, I wouldn't touch her with a 10 foot pole after she once implied that HE could be HER vice president.
- theCreator79, on 06/03/2008, -3/+3Clinton is working for McCain! She knows it's over, she is just staying in to sabatoge Obama!
- PosedMagnet, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4LOL, she wants to be his running mate now.
She's just like Huckabee. ***** annoying gnat that can be crushed at any time but just won't go the ***** away. - NelsonR, on 06/03/2008, -1/+6Now Hillary is INSISTING upon being the V.P This is over the top even for Hillary. What is her compunction in being a part of the Washington D.C. power base? Will Obama go along with this outright extortion other then allowing Obama, if elected, choosing his own running mate without the threat of splitting the party?
This multi millionaire heiress is now rich beyond most mortal humans, now POWER.
Despicable B****H.- NSResponder, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1She's rich, but she's not an heiress. Her parents were middle-class.

- brownrecluse888, on 06/03/2008, -4/+4I sure hope not, I would hate to see an end of this constant barrage of Obama spam....
- phydeaux70, on 06/03/2008, -9/+4She shouldn't get out until Obama wins. Until then she should continue on.
Don't give these people a way out by quitting. If they want Obama, vote for him. If she quit now and Obama fails the Democrats will just say 'well...Hillary got out so we had no choice'. - Misinformant, on 06/03/2008, -0/+4Told ya so
