- TheEngineer2008, on 08/13/2008, -1/+14I hope everyone will register to vote well before the election. That way, we'll all be set.
I put together some pro-poker voting information:

- KOSmurfy, on 08/13/2008, -0/+6For 99% of the American public, voting for the POTUS is similar to picking out a wardrobe in complete darkness. Very few people understand the issues well enough to make a truly informed decision, and with so much propaganda, it can be difficult to determine where any politician even stands, regardless of whether their policies would help the country. Then there's the issue of both major parties being in favor of bankrupting the country, and you might start to see why it's futile.
- TheEngineer2008, on 08/13/2008, -0/+5You don't have to choose either one of them. You can send a message to Congress by voting for Bob Barr. We can let Washington know that we won't settle for crumbs of what used to be our liberty. Not voting sends no message to anyone.
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -1/+6So my choices are a puppet or a puppet? I choose neither.
- shortbusgeek, on 08/13/2008, -0/+4I completely agree with KOSmurfy. That's why after many hours of research, I've decided on the Libertarian Party's Bob Barr as my candidate. He's the only one that truly is advocating less government intrusion into peoples' lives. He's on the board of the NRA, is supported by the Marijuana Policy Project, and is friends with Ron Paul. Barr is the ONLY candidate I can vote for without feeling guilty. Remember, the lesser of two evils is still evil. http://www.BobBarr2008.com
- TheEngineer2008, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3It changes more than not voting does.
- TheEngineer2008, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3KO,
I gave your comment a thumbs-up because I sympathize fully with how you feel. However, I'm afraid the things you described are not proof that the system has failed. Unfortunately, it's quite the opposite. It seems many Americans WANT big government. :-( And, the ones who do ALL vote, because there's something in it for them. Too many want the government to legislate their problems away, protect our morals by outlawing our freedoms, and to spend tax revenue on them.
I believe we who want something different need to make our voices heard. Government won't respond if we don't stand up for our rights. So, let's all vote, and let's all write to Congress to let them know what we, the voters, really want. - inactive, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3Dugg
- subgeniusd, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2While you are absolutely correct about the warring wings of the Big Government Party don't dismiss the Libertarian Party.
If Bob Barr can draw a significant minority of votes Congress will be forced to pay attention to our concerns and take us seriously.
Opportunists cannot be persuaded by logic and reason. Only by threats to their position and status. - TheEngineer2008, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2One more:
