- Insightful, on 10/09/2008, -0/+25Hi Cindy: Please come to talk more about this PTSD thing. http://www.iraqwarveterans.org/ptsd.htm
Also, one third of veterans returning home from Iraq sought help for mental distress. Your husband voted to fund them right? Oh wait...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ... - Deoliver47, on 10/10/2008, -0/+19With McNasty's rage problems it's clear he has mental issues. Granted, he was nicknamed McNasty as a young man - but I'm sure his stay as a POW created great mental stress. His medical records from the Navy have never been released, but the record -visible - of his volatile behavior - in the Senate, at the craps table; even his crude remarks about his wife are on record.
Of course Cindy McCain is not a doctor; just a spouse in denial (which is not a river in Egypt) so we can't expect her to make rational statements about PTSD. But just in case anyone reading here bumps into her - let her know that PTSD has no relationship to age or training. - authorfriendly, on 10/10/2008, -0/+16I am a psychologist who often treats PTSD. I am appalled at her lack of sensitivity or respect for the troops. IEDS and such do not distinguish between Republicans and Democrats, or between raw recuits and Annapolis grads. This story led to me blogging abit about it just now on my psychology blog:
http://digg.com/political_opinion/Cindy_McCain_Dis ... - wherearemymeds, on 10/10/2008, -0/+10You are utterly repugnant.
Besides the incredible insensitivity and contempt you also have for "18 year olds' , especially when they're members of the military, you have no knowledge of what PTSD is or how it works.
Your husband's temper, which is by turns offensive, defensive and violent, has been distinctively his own since he was a very young child. However, to somehow imply that having PTSD is a flaw or weakness due to (lack of) character or age is cruel and demeaning.
PTSD is insidious--it is hard to diagnose, harder to treat, hard to admit because it makes a person feel that they have no control over outside dangers. Trying to live with PTSD, much less trying to live with and love PTSD survivors is a challenge that you, Mrs. McCain, have demoted to something akin to acne.
It's unfortunate for us that you have no shame, much less, intelligence, much less any notion of gratitude for troops, for the the young, or for the real heroes--the ones who have suffered but don't parade around.
You are disgusting. And so so blind. - sullivanst, on 10/10/2008, -0/+7Cindy McCain apparently repeats her husband's mistake in thinking that his family and personal history automatically makes her a friend of veterans. She clearly has no idea. Nor does he, judging by his voting record.
- duggtodeath, on 10/10/2008, -0/+6What a sour cup of *****.
- TheBuz, on 10/10/2008, -0/+5C U Next Thursday.
- plumcider, on 10/10/2008, -0/+4Maybe she's right. Maybe McCain did not have PTSD. Maybe he was just a cold blooded b*tard who abandoned his disabled wife to marry a rich bimbo and immediately set about furthering his own career while ignoring fellow veterans...oh, wait...
- whoreable, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2Rofl I guess he knew what he was doing when he was flying too low for the third time and got his ass shot down.
- alliebabe, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2Is she so desperate to be First Lady that she will say anything, do anything, put up with anything in order to further John's ambitions? She is a multimillionaire for heaven's sake!
- authorfriendly, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2Whether or not John McCain has PTSD is between him and his doctors. But If Cindy is going to claim his training made him immune we need to hear if he thinks this might be true. And if that is so, why didnt he train better the 100's of thousands of veterans who got it due to his lack of foresight or oversight.
- piper999, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2The sight of this person creeps me out big time. She looks like rigor mortis has set in and all that is running through her veins is formaldehyde and painkillers. She's like something out of a horror movie.
- authorfriendly, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2yes a bit of a stepford wife ya know?
- barblibrarian, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Now we know where he got the idea of the kind of woman he should name as his running mate. Too bad....
- MediaWeasel, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1Wow. How to lose votes for your husband. Sorry - correction - how to lose even more votes for your husband. Suggest that only young, naif, untrained boys of 18 get PTSD.
Something tells me he's furious about the suggestion that he may have PTSD. He thinks that makes him weak. Old school, blind prejudice which led to soldiers with PTSD being shot by their officers in WW1 and WWII for "cowardice". So much for caring deeply about today's troops and the vets coming home. Git. - Olon97, on 10/10/2008, -1/+2The more she talks, the more McCain's "trollop" incident seems understandable.
- themellowmarsh, on 10/10/2008, -0/+0OH SNAP!!!! You showed her!
BUUUURRRRNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I so hate the Mc's.
