- 1Freeman, on 10/07/2008, -1/+5Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori is much of the problem with the Church. Yes, there is room for every kind of sinner in the world. But placing an unrepentent sinner into a position of senior leadership is another matter all together. None of us is sin-free but we strive to live a better life always trying to sin less and live the life Christ gave us. An openly homosexual and unrepetnent "bishop" is not the example of Christ and is in direct opposition to the bible. Period. Church activists, like Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, need to wake up, confess their sins to God and either correct their mistakes or step down from a leadership position in God's service.
As for the Diocese of Pittsburg, You have sttod for what is written in God's word. May it count as a blessing as you re-establish your faith. - inactive, on 10/07/2008, -1/+4To parade filth, as sanctioned of the Living God, goes beyond the pale.
I have heard of "perfect possession", but thought little of it, till now. - Christianptriot, on 10/07/2008, -2/+2Scripture clearly states that any person in a position of leadership in a church is to be without sin - that includes perversions of the body for sexual gratification such as homosexuality. I'm not sure how God will react to individuals who openly challenge, rebel and refute God's word when they meet Him on Judgment day - but it will be a short meeting.
