- gravescp, on 09/07/2008, -7/+118I am very surprised that FOX news is actually doing the checking, but if they will not talk to anyone else I am very happy to see real questions being asked. Good Job Chris Wallace
- BabushkaBlue, on 09/07/2008, -7/+101Wow! Chris Wallace did this? On Fox? I better run to the window to see the flying pigs. Amazing.
- Verchiel77, on 09/08/2008, -2/+37Falsely labeled as "inaccurate" by Caribou Barbie's bury brigade in 5...4...3...
- ArtMonkeyWorld, on 09/08/2008, -6/+40You know, when Fox News becomes the voice of reason, we are all DOOMED.
- basye, on 09/07/2008, -9/+35Yet another 'misleading' statement by Palin and perpetuated by the McDrones. Palin needs to get out in public herself and answer these questions by journalists, for the record. Answer them completely, without smoke screens.
- VelvetMcIntyre, on 09/08/2008, -1/+26You know it's bad when Chris Wallace is calling you out.

"McCain: Most absentee '08 Senator
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), missing another major vote on the Iraq war today in favor of presidential campaigning, has pulled far ahead of his 2008 rivals in at least one category: absenteeism.
McCain, who missed today's vote while campaigning in South Carolina as part of another re-launch of his White House bid, has gone two straight weeks without casting a single vote on the chamber floor. He's missed 18 straight votes." - rald84, on 09/07/2008, -10/+30i just shat brix, brb wipe.
oh and hi kevin federline!! - pintomp3, on 09/08/2008, -2/+22palin: i'm a reformer. and if you use my past to refute that claim, you are being sexist and biased.
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -5/+24Holy ***** you right wingers are dumb. It's called a "bounce." It happens every four years after every convention. Last week Obama got it. Grow up.
- dn11, on 09/08/2008, -2/+19would it change your vote if Sarah Palin is proven to be a total liar?
I didn't think so.
But... more rational people than you might see reason. - antipoet, on 09/08/2008, -2/+17I'm no expert on presidential campaign history but this has got to be one of the most ridiculous.
- hangingchad, on 09/08/2008, -6/+20Does anyone find it really strange that the republicans are showing strength by fighting the corruption in their own party? Kind of a ***** up logic when you consider how much McCain has aligned himself with Bush.
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -5/+18Dugg for lies so transparent, even Faux Snooze can find them.
- rayjitsu, on 09/08/2008, -1/+13Wow Chris Wallace. Even your father would approve of this interview. Way to grow a pair!
- stinkymonkey, on 09/08/2008, -3/+15Chris Wallace did a pretty good job, but stopped way to short, he should of pinned him down and called him out on his *****. All main stream media needs to grow some balls and stop the softball questions.
That's the only reason why Republicans win races, because they know how to turn a pile of ***** into gold. - inactive, on 09/08/2008, -7/+18A "shoe-in" for the Vice Presidency?!!
You people are retarded right?!!
The speeches written for Palin and McCain are directed at the lowest common denominator of our society, for those that need their thoughts emailed to them, but it was an insult to the intellect of any rational, logical thinking person.
These speeches are for chumps. They're dishonest and promise how-to information, then delivers a bunch of “You-can-do-it” platitudes instead. They are written for a demographic of lunatics, perverts, psychotics, derilics, retards, criminals, pedophiles and insane and mis-abused people.
You can forget Palin is a creationist. She wants it taught in schools that Bible-God created everything in 6 days.
You can forget Palin is an airheaded, po-dunk status seeking beauty queen from whothefvckcares, Alaska
You can forget Palin married a drop-out snowmobile racer.
You can forget they have a pregnant teenage daughter...
You can forget Palin accepted VP when she just had a baby 2 months ago especially a baby with down syndrome?
But DON'T EVER FORGET the fact that she is totally inexperienced for the job at hand
If you think this lady should hold one of the most important seats in our Gov't, you need to go read our nation's constitution. If you still don't get it, you need to go have your head examined.
You don't have to be a Democrat to see the risk of having a child so late in life, the irresponsibility of having a slut for a daughter, a snow-mobile racing husband that didn't go to college and sending your son to Iraq to get killed.
Listen Folks, these people have no understanding of real family values. They do not follow our constitution, they are Creationists, which is why they should never be allowed anywhere near the seat of our Gov't.
These psychopaths belong in "whothefvckcares, Alaska"!
And for all those idiots spewing, "Obama has no experience". You're idiots! Obama has ten years experience in public office, more than the two other leading Democratic candidates, Hillary Clinton (six-plus years as Senator from New York) and John Edwards (six years as Senator from North Carolina). Barack's spent eight years spent in the Illinois senate before his two years (and counting) of service in the U.S. Senate.
And, NO, I'm not a fvcking Democrat! I'm a Ron Paul supporter, but Obama or McCain is a no-brainer. - bicyclethief, on 09/08/2008, -5/+16Translation: Hey, I can't explain this Palin lie so here's a lame, worn-out smear on Obama to distract you.
Obama voted nearly 130 times out of over 4000 Illinois State Senate votes. That's meager 3.25% of the time. And even then, "present" votes meant something-- like objecting to a provision in a bill he would otherwise support.

How doubly sad is it that you'll indirectly cover for Palin's lie by spreading smears about her opponent. - charm803, on 09/08/2008, -3/+13That's because she hasn't debated Biden yet.
(Source: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080907/ap_on_el_pr/bi ...
"Biden, serving his sixth term in Congress, said, "There's a lot of very tough, smart women in the United States Senate I debate every day." So, he said, "It's not new" to be going up against Palin. He also mentioned his wife, Jill, who has a Ph.D.
Asked whether he'd debate Palin differently than he would Republicans Mitt Romney or Tom Ridge, two former governors who figured into speculation about John McCain's running mate, Biden said the only difference is that he knows their positions on issues.
"I have no idea what her policies are. I assume they're the same as John's. I just don't know," he said of Palin.
Biden said she delivered a great speech to the Republican National Convention last week in St. Paul, Minn., but "her silence on the issues was deafening."
Obama & Biden have foresight, I'm sure they are using this time to do their homework. - kazzmedia, on 09/08/2008, -5/+15this was actually revealed on CNN last weekend ... along with a list of other lies that she repeated in the speech written for her at the RNC longer than her list of actual qualifications (which isn't saying much)
- dn11, on 09/08/2008, -3/+12they aren't fighting corruption in their own party - they're talking about corruption in their own party as if it has nothing to do with them
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -5/+13Good to see Fix News trying to fix a mess they probably helped create.
- archiesteel, on 09/08/2008, -2/+10It's not a smear if it's true. She *was* for the Bridge to Nowhere before being against it. She still has money for it...
Polls come and go, what you're seeing is the Convention bounce. We'll see where the numbers are next week, m'kay? - eliot2000, on 09/08/2008, -5/+13Fox News: Because even a broken clock is right twice a day!
- ZenMojo, on 09/08/2008, -1/+9She's a reformer alright. Reformed her way into 27 million dollars worth of federal earmarks for a town with a population of 5,500 people for a ***** sports stadium. And then managed to reform that city into 22 million dollars worth of debt.
- bluesman3535, on 09/08/2008, -2/+10Obama wins by 5% come November. I deal with the nationwide public regularly. It's not my preference, just fact from what I hear and observe. So Republicans, don't get angry with liberals, just take a good look at 8 years of the W-Cheney ignorant 'heads in sand' techniques of gathering and selectively ignoring crucial data.
- Mezzie57, on 09/08/2008, -3/+11well peabrains think Obama has been too afraid of media attention. You have got to be unconscious to not know he's been grilled thoroughly. He's been under the microscope since he entered the race. Biden has been on twice since the convention doing interviews. Why can't Caribou Barbie answer some questions? Where is the press? Come on damn it.. Let's get it on record from the horses mouth why she kept that 22 million dollars of federal money for the Bridge to nowhere.
- USArugula, on 09/08/2008, -1/+9"she'll be doing an interview later this week."
But for now she's still working the flash cards. - Oheson, on 09/08/2008, -4/+12Chris Wallace is the only thing that keep FOX News from being a complete infomercial for the Republican party.

Game over indeed - GuacamoleSan, on 09/08/2008, -1/+7You aren't speaking of any of the merits of what this article is about you foolish self-serving neo-con. You can't even call yourself conservatives anymore, because you're too stupid to understand what it means to be a conservative. Conservatives used to believe in small government, not in tricking the poor to benefit the rich. The neocon on this show won't even let Wallace ask a question, he has no respect for the media and clearly is just using the interview as a "pulpit" spot for him to preach lies about the campaign. The second that a true fact comes up (facts are the new enemy of the neocons) he jumps in and acts as rude as possible. To trick poor farmers into voting for a party that doesn't help them whatsoever is sickening. This speaks more to the idiocy of the neocons that a clearly corrupt soccer mom who stabbed whoever she could to make it to governor of Alaska would be your "savior". The ***** coming out on Palin is of such magnitude and multitude that it boggles the mind, and it even lead to people BLAMING THE MEDIA because of the sheer number of scandals surrounding her. She's one of the hot girls in college who would screw any professor she could for an A. How the bimbo made it to a VP nomination makes me sick. Abraham Lincoln would be rolling over in his grave if he saw the state of his party at this moment in time.
- kidathinnes, on 09/08/2008, -3/+9Average for all general election polls:
Obama/Biden 45.7
McCain/Palin 46.7
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/presi ... - archiesteel, on 09/08/2008, -2/+8How is this a false rumor, exactly? She *was* for the Bridge to Nowhere before being against it.
You Republicans seem to think that if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes truth... - johnsonjoeb, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6voting "present" is a common tactic to show disproval/lack of knowledge of bills without accumulating the ire of those you might need in the future in politics. it's politics 101. every politician has done it more than once at various levels of government. it's the nature of the beast. for instance, while i may not agree with your need for a new series of grain silos in oklahoma because i'm not familiar with the particular needs of your state, i won't vote AGAINST it because i might want you to support or abstain from voting for a bill that i need. voting "present" prevents the bureaucratic gridlock that would ensue if EVERY bill that passed through congress and the respective houses at the state and washington level were analyzed and reanalyzed by every politician who as forced to take a stance on every issue. what's funny is the fact that this puts more power in the hands of the constituents of the republican lawmakers who are always screaming smaller government but are railing against the fact that obama has done this. does this show that he is revolutionary and bucks the system? unfortunately no and that's not the point if you look beyond the right wing rhetoric. what it DOES prove is that he does not "rubber stamp" any and every bill that comes across his desk and looks at them critically. ideally we would LOVE an omnipotent candidate who knows the specific details of EVERY piece of legislation he encounters and the benefits/drawbacks thereof. what we HAVE however is a fallible system that is exploited at ALL levels of government by fallible human beings and a politician OBAMA who has been in the system long enough to see ways to fix it. needless to say, being black and making the moves he has had to make obviously required some sort of concessions from his end in certain areas. i don't fault him for this. he's had to walk a fine line thus far and i for one will be glad to be "present" to vote for him november 4th! please people who are on the undecided fence. i honestly petition you: when you turn off you television sets and disconnect from the internet, think about the negative aspects of the last eight years and realize that obama wasn't part of that AT ALL. now rove, bush, cheney, mccain, palin and the republican spin machine are trying to convince you that somehow THEY AREN'T RESPONSIBLE AND THEY ARE ABOUT REFORM. it's time for some accountability. they can speculate all they want about what obama and those crazy left wing democrats will do once they get in office but not one of them has taken blame through ANY media outlet for what they've done the past EIGHT YEARS while they've been IN office! who ***** up the economy, started a fiscally irresponsible war and subsequent occupation, failed to complete a war in afghanistan and find osama bin laden, abandoned americans to die in hurricane katrina, read about "my pet goat" while planes slammed into our buildings, supported tax cuts for companies that exported jobs overseas, and ignored the plight of the victims of terrorists in darfur? vote obama '08. :)
- azpat, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6WHY IS THIS POSSIBLY INACCURATE? STOP CHEATING THE SYSTEM.
- jdenzer, on 09/08/2008, -1/+7Yes I think it will change the votes of those who see her as a reformer. When they realize that she is not the great reformer that the McCain campaign claims her to be. This is why they are keeping her away from the media. Isn't it one of the great republican's saying "if you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear". So tell us Gov. Palin if you have nothing to hide, then surely you don't fear the media asking you questions. Is this how she would handle the Presidency? We already have had 8 years of secrecy. We don't need 4 more.
- elephantstomp, on 09/08/2008, -1/+6I believe most of you are missing something, the key something.
The base already "knows" she is a reformer. It no longer matters whether or not that it is true. It will not matter who says otherwise. It would take no less than Jesus Christ to tell them it was not true.
They know she has the "most experience," even more than McCain. Most of them "believe" that she should be on top of the ticket, because it is her that speaks to them on a personal level. There is most likely something underlying the surface within them, perhaps McCain is the vessel by which "God" has brought her to them. To carry this a step further. It is "God" that is the competition to Obama for the Presidency. God is here to save this country. You almost need God to change God's mind on this one, or a trusted surrogate.
To the base it no longer matter what "YOU" say. It is a test of their strength to defend her against ''your lies" regardless of whether it is indisputably true.
The success of Obama rests in the hands of God. If you can bring God to back you up you can win... and end this nightmare.
Oh, if not God they have to be "too afraid" to show-up at the polls.
--Sorry if the usage of quotes bothers some of you, I know not a better way to add desired emphasis. - Mezzie57, on 09/08/2008, -1/+6I love Chris Wallace for nailing Caribou Barbie. Now we know why Geritol GI Joe's camp is keeping her from answering reporters questions.. I mean after all if she has nothing to hide she should easily get out there and set the record straight. I can hardly wait until she is one on one with a reporter like Wallace who'll press her for the truth.
- bobbarkerbilly, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5probably on a rider that Ted Stevens wrote in.
- deadbaby, on 09/08/2008, -2/+7...and that's change we can believe in.... (creepy old man laugh)
- dagnome1984, on 09/08/2008, -2/+7He has none. I take it you didn't watch the Republican debates. He sucked up to the main GOP candidates and then marginalized the outliers.
- jimrin, on 09/08/2008, -2/+7"This works better if you let me ask the question..." Haha, bravo.
Are we in the Bizarro world? Chris Wallace pointing out Palin's discrepancies (ie, lies)?
Perhaps the McCain campaign should refuse to let anyone from the McCain camp give any interviews until they are "treated with deference" (ie, not asked any tough questions). - xornor, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5Couldn't have said it better myself as a fellow Ron Paul supporter. The number of idiots in our country who fall for this crap is mind boggling and scary. I'm against universal healthcare but please offer up some free lobotomies to these people STAT!
- screaminmartin, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4I think you wrote something good but I can't read the Wall o' Text. Good job!
- Acewrap, on 09/08/2008, -1/+5"she kept $2million"
- PDAIsAOk, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4How many times are you going to copy/paste this into comment sections of articles. Granted I agree with you about 99% of the time, find something new to say. Attacking her husband and daughter have nothing to do with Palin. Don't lose focus of the arguement, if they only thing to discuss is her lack of experience and judgement as a politician then go after that. If you attack her family you just look like an *****. We can't lower ourselves to their levels, eyes on the prize.
Obama/Biden '08 - inactive, on 09/08/2008, -1/+5Holy Crap! When Chris Wallace of Fox News attacks Palin's record, you know GOP has some serious problems!! $637,000,000 in pork barrel spending during Palin's time as Mayor/Governor, more per capita then any other state in the Union! Heck, I may need to move to Alaska, their just rolling in cash....OUR CASH!
- j37hr0, on 09/08/2008, -1/+5The moderators always marginalize the outsiders. That's how to keep it a two party system. The theory goes that people actually want to hear what the big name candidates have to say, not the "Ron Paul wackos"
