- mabs0, on 05/16/2008, -20/+384That's the return of good journalism, beyond catch-phrases and fear mongering.
- PortlandHawk, on 05/16/2008, -5/+341I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT SO I'LL JUST YELL WHEN I SPEAK!
Signed,
Kevin James - livegreenordie, on 05/16/2008, -20/+241 That was great TV! Can't wait to see Oberman tonight Bush is in deep doo-doo!
- thezettabytes, on 05/16/2008, -20/+228Hahaha, Chris Matthews rocks.
- preneel, on 05/16/2008, -8/+182This was awesome. The scary part is that he has listeners in LA who think he knows what he was talking about. Share this with everyone.
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 05/16/2008, -19/+176This might be worse than the Matthews-Obama supporter video from a while back. Here is why:
One of the BIGGEST criticisms of Obama supports is they dont know what he has done, or they simply parrot what he says he has done without specifics. This Guy, Kevin James, simply parrots what Bush was saying and had NO facts to back it up and no history background to even know what Bush was speaking about. He simply says what Bush says. When questioned about it, he simply shouts his parroting louder.
At least the Obama supporter admitted he didnt know. This guy wouldn't give up. - inactive, on 05/16/2008, -38/+178That right wing Anti-American scum bag was just blowing lies out of his ass. What a disgrace to the men and woman fighting in Iraq.
He should apologize for being a blow hard who hates history and hates freedom. - gsadamb, on 05/16/2008, -5/+125Chris Matthews can be loud and obnoxious sometimes, but the man knows what he's talking about. I haven't seen a smackdown like this in some time.
- mntalkase, on 05/16/2008, -5/+123I saw this live... and it was amazing. My god. Mathew's screwed his day up.
- Totalchaos02, on 05/16/2008, -3/+101I suppose Mr. James also believes the great Ronald Reagan is an "appeaser" for meeting Mikhail Gorbachev?
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -12/+99Alright I dugg it even though I submitted this first.
And I just watched this again and the this coward resorted to the common refuse of anti-American Republicans "b-b-b-but 9/11!"
What a disgrace to his family and to our nation. - Gemfinder, on 05/16/2008, -6/+87I love that "deer in the headlights" look on his face. Almost caricature-able.
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -2/+79Lmao "Legitized, Energized" wow cant even believe they would give this idiot a radio show
- jjsmall, on 05/16/2008, -2/+60That was a beautiful thing to behold
- BabushkaBlue, on 05/16/2008, -3/+59This was hilarious! That idiot really didn't know. "He's an APPEASER, Chris!" Hahahahahahahaha.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -10/+64"B-b-but 9/11 was Bill Clinton's fault, watch 'Pathway to 9/11' and you'll see! Obama's foreign policy is dangerous to America, he's an appeaser!" No, Chamberlain was an appeaser because he sold Czech territories to Nazi Germany, not because he talked with Britain's enemies.
This guy just blew hot air out of his ass the whole interview and had no idea what he was talking about. What an awesome segment, I'm glad Matthews didn't let him off the hook. - SpinningHead, on 05/16/2008, -2/+50http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK0d8ENS__c
- spokenorigami, on 05/16/2008, -4/+49"THAT WAS PATHETIC"
yes it was Chris, yes it was. - kman004, on 05/16/2008, -0/+41What happened to people? When did the war on history, books and and logic start? Why is it the cool thing not to read books anymore? Why is it acceptable not to know history? And why is so hard to sit for a few minutes and be honest about something? "No, I don't know what happened in 1938 in Munich, but please tell me so I know" Is that such a bad thing?
I'm sorry for all the questions, but I feel sad for not knowing the answers. - JinnRikki, on 05/16/2008, -2/+43This was a well laid trap by Tweety. James was on a week or so ago and I could tell Matthews was fed up with his bluster. I figured he would just drop him and not ask him back, When the segment started today I could tell Tweety had him in his sights and was going to drill him. Great work!
- audiored, on 05/16/2008, -0/+40The Obama guy admitted he didn't know and didn't keep digging and digging and digging.. He was embarrassed but didn't make himself out to be an total idiot.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj4VK9wVAi0 - 10pins, on 05/16/2008, -2/+42how does he have a radio show?
- theOster, on 05/16/2008, -2/+41"when you're in a hole, stop digging"
- poppacherry, on 05/16/2008, -2/+40Well, I learned something new today: Chamberlain was an appeaser
- Deadpixel1221, on 05/16/2008, -6/+44"WHAT DID HE DO!!"
- tcquad, on 05/16/2008, -4/+40After the whole "I don't know what I'm talking about" section, he proceeds to claim Clinton did nothing after a slew of terrorism incidents. Clinton did actually go after Bin Laden during his term, unfortunately some members of Congress thought it was a "Wag the Dog" (remember that?) scenario.
In particular, one WaPo article noted that:
"Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) stressed the importance of a strong U.S. role in foreign affairs, and criticized the administration for ignoring problems other than bin Laden, including Iraq..." - tcbishop12, on 05/16/2008, -10/+45Xenophobia and irrational paranoia rules the right. It's regrettably a very fearful world the right wing lives in, where even the mention of a possibility of opening a constructive dialogue with foreign adversaries aimed at resolving differences, diffusing tensions, and achieving otherwise mutually acceptable accords is automatically linked - in knee-jerk fashion - to signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938, conceding part of Czechoslovakia to Hitler, and giving up the Irish Free State Royal Navy ports.
It's another reason I don't listen to AM radio. Most right wing talk show hosts don't have to know any facts, because they control the cut off switch and routinely shout down differences of opinion. - oldhick, on 05/16/2008, -6/+39Please don't view this as me defending right wing douche bag. I am not. Simply providing some history and context for you and that douche bag on TV. If he's going to call Obama Chamberlain, he best know what he's talking about...
Chamberlain called his own foreign policy "The general policy of appeasement" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neville_Chamberlain
Some of his biggest failures
1 - The first crisis of Chamberlain's tenure was over the annexation of Austria.
2 - The Munich Agreement, September 30th 1938 engineered by the French and British governments, effectively allowed Adolf Hitler to annex the country's (Czechoslovakia) defensive frontier, leaving its industrial and economic core within a day's reach of the Wehrmacht.
3 - Hitler seized all of Czechoslovakia in March 1939
4 - Chamberlain, presided over the final collapse of European affairs, resisted acting on military information, lied to the House of Commons about Nazi military strength, shunted out opposition which, correctly, warned of the need to prepare – and above all, failed to use the months profitably to ready for the oncoming conflict.
5 - The first eight months of the war are often described as the "Phoney War", for the relative lack of action.
6 - May 7, Leo Amery – who had been one of Chamberlain's personal friends – delivered a devastating indictment of Chamberlain's conduct of the war. " You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go." - Wargalas, on 05/16/2008, -2/+31I loved that guy in King of Queens.
- itsfullofstars, on 05/16/2008, -0/+28Annoying to hear this windbag (Kevin James-Douchebag) but I'm glad to see someone called him out on his ignorance. Scary how few of those in MSM who have a mind of their own. Disgusting.
- dafoe, on 05/16/2008, -4/+30Lol. Kevin James got his ass handed to him. This is funny as hell
- ExitMoose, on 05/16/2008, -4/+29Indeed. How these people continue to be taken seriously is entirely beyond me.
- whygohome10, on 05/16/2008, -3/+27god that is satisfying
- wickensworth, on 05/16/2008, -0/+23Thanks for appeasing my desire for a youtube link
- inactive, on 05/16/2008, -3/+26As old as having right wing blowhards on National TV slandering Democrats?
Have you forgotten the last 8 years?
How do you think Bush got re-elected? because of bottom feeding scum like this guy. - cate508, on 05/16/2008, -4/+27Tell Matthews right on-- hardball@msnbc.com
- fuhlavaflave, on 05/16/2008, -1/+23That was cringe-worthy, like watching Michael on The Office.
- InfeImmo, on 05/16/2008, -0/+21Then again, it might be a good idea to publicly discredit and/or humiliate these types of pundits in order to show them for what they are - especially when they seem to hold such sway over the public opinion.
- NipGrip, on 05/16/2008, -1/+22Kevin James sounds like he's straight out of one of the parody GTA4 radio stations.
- ExitMoose, on 05/16/2008, -5/+26Youtube link?
- Clouse, on 05/16/2008, -1/+22I watched it live and was thinking about how great it would to have this on digg. Wow what a wish come true.
- zephyear, on 05/16/2008, -4/+24chris matthews is awesome when he talks to people who have less integrity than he does
- 4321234, on 05/16/2008, -4/+24Meanwhile, back in Iraq, Sadr is getting tired of standing by his agreements with Bush.
- cate508, on 05/16/2008, -4/+23I saw this when it aired....and enjoying it again. All I can say is it got a
*jaw drop and a huge smile*. We need more of this calling people out for the distortions and/or spouting alot of nothing.....sharing this with everyone I can, of course! Amazing. A clean tie with Chris Wallace putting it to his Fox Friends, for sure.... - BlakeEM, on 05/16/2008, -0/+19http://youtube.com/watch?v=d1wSZBTAXRs
- kineticworm, on 05/16/2008, -5/+23oh, that kevin james....that guy!
- Deadpixel1221, on 05/16/2008, -0/+18Or how about that little incident involving the selling of ARMS to Iran for hostages?? If that isn't appeasement I don't know what is...
- PhilLesh69, on 05/16/2008, -0/+18The difference is that one is a sycophant, the other is just not well informed, but apparently has some semblance of intellectual honesty.
This Kevin James guy is obviously very much like Bill O'Reilly, he panders to his audience in order to remain on the air. All he can do is shout the emotionally charged ideological phrases "He's an appeaser, he gave material support, he emboldened, he energized, he legitimized the enemy"
He knows he can't reason with intelligent people, but all he needs to do is use certain keywords to convince the people who jump for joy when they hear their president say "You are either with us or against us" or "They hate us for our freedoms". He only has to appeal to half-wits and uneducated fools. - maiku00, on 05/16/2008, -2/+20HE WAS AN APPEASER! ***** THING SUCKS!!
- mabs0, on 05/16/2008, -0/+17I guess everyone is entitled to their standards. But it does feel good to finally have screaming ignorance exposed for what it is.
