Chris Matthews Lambastes Bush Apologist for Attack on Obama
infiniteregress.tv — Fordham Univ. Prof. Paul Levinson: Chris Matthews was at his best on Hardball tonight, taking talk-show host Kevin James apart on his inability to say what appeasement was. It's helpful to keep that in mind, today, in the aftermath of Bush's comment in his address to the Israeli parliament, falsely comparing Obama to Nazi appeaser.

Regrettably, it's a very fearful world some of the more extreme right wingers live in, where even the mere mention of the possibility of opening a constructive dialogue with foreign adversaries aimed at resolving differences, diffusing tensions, and achieving what would otherwise be mutually acceptable accords (for example, the nuclear disarmament treaties of the 80s with the Soviets) is now automatically linked - in knee-jerk fashion - to signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938, conceding part of Czechoslovakia to Hitler, and giving up the Irish Free State Royal Navy ports.
It's another reason I don't listen to AM radio. Most right wing talk show hosts don't have to know the underlying facts of which they purport to speak, because when challenged, they control the cut off switch and routinely shout down differences of opinion.- PaulLev, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Good point. I like listening to them, once in a while, briefly, just to see the low level of rationality on the other side.
