- MrGrinchstick, on 10/10/2007, -17/+83Traitorous swine knew Iraq would be a disaster, its on tape.
He should be tried and hung. - talywackerflash, on 10/10/2007, -22/+68This piece of ***** needs to be incarcerated and waterboarded........war profiteer doesn't come close to describing this 'bigtime *****'.
- SilkSteel, on 10/10/2007, -9/+52Screw the effigy, hang the treasonous ***** on a tree.
- MrGrinchstick, on 10/10/2007, -11/+40My lip just split I was smiling so hard when I saw his effigy head roll off.
Use chapstick before viewing. - neoblaque, on 10/10/2007, -6/+31Not everyone can travel to D.C. to make protests, looks like a bunch of locals got together for a good old fashioned necktie party.
I'm just glad old sure shot Cheney didn't shoot them, mistaking them for a flock of quail. - MacEnvy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+26It's best to blame the man who knowingly drummed up support based on known bad information, duping the nation and leading us into these dark times. That would be Cheney.
- phuzed, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Do you know who is in charge of the CIA and FBI? The Executive branch. Anything Cheney or Bush does not want Congress to see, they invoke Executive privilege. Congress voted on evidence that was neither accurate nor legitimate. Lets try and keep accountability where it ultimately lies. You act like my little 11 year old sister where nothing is ever her fault and it is everyone else's fault.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+18Good text. Shows just how much better Clinton handled this than Bush.
Clinton managed to keep Saddam from using those weapons without expending hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of American lives. - obliviousfool, on 10/10/2007, -5/+17That was awesome! I'd digg it over and over if I could.

- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -8/+18I didn't see any mention of Cheney's neighbors in that story
- TheAngryMob, on 10/10/2007, -8/+17That's tried and hanged. Unless you insist he's not a person, and that's a fair argument.
http://www.grammartips.homestead.com/pairs1.html - GeneralFault, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12If Cheney was not Vice President, the war would not have happened. The same is not true for any member of Congress. That's the point.
The "overwhelming" evidence was comming from one office that was created by Cheney and Rumsfield to solve the problem that the other intelligence agencies were not reporting the "evidence" that they wanted to see. - YellowSnot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Thanks for clarifying that, I was completely lost until you said he meant to say hanged rather than hung.
- MonsterChaOS, on 10/10/2007, -7/+15It was his neighbors, and his statue, so yeah... You probably couldn't see with you head being under the sand and all.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10That's a great job making up some numbers, my friend. Next time, try reality. Bush's approval is at an all-time low. Congress' approval rating is also low, but Democrats have stronger numbers than Republicans and the public trusts Democrats more than Republicans to handle almost every aspect of governance.
- polyGone, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I love how people pretend to have a legitimate reason for burying stories, in a lame attempt to sway others to do the same.
- wendelgee2, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10He's a PUBLIC official. He gave up his private life in order to serve his company...I mean country.
- GeneralFault, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Yeah, the 1st ammendment is a crime. Sure whatever. Breathing is a crime. Stop.
- rarson, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8I would consider the "whackos" to be the people who actually choose to ignore reality for whatever reasons I cannot fathom.
- supermanred, on 10/10/2007, -9/+15Ah, there is hope for the United States yet. You haven't lost your nutsacks after all. Protest the *****, get the ***** vampire out of office and his whole ***** crew too. Dont just cut off the head, burn the whole ***** lot of them.
- skibybadoowap, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Here's a direct link to the video for those too lazy to read the article. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVTuTWe75yA
- brutalentropy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6LOL "homicide bombs"
You're funny. Your username is fitting too, in a tongue in cheek sort of way. - ffleming, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7you're so angry about the internet! it's pretty funny, keep it up
- thurows, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I think it's great that the Sheriff just rolled through and let it happen.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Like these guys? http://www.theconservativevoice.com/news/nascar-news.html
- phuzed, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8NASCAR, abusing their children, too stoned from their prescription drugs or too busy laying down like a good dog so their OWNER can spy on them some more or limit more of their constitutional rights.
- cryptomystic, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8true, i guess sending thousands of young american soldiers to die in an illegal war on false pretenses that you knew would turn into a quagmire but would make you and your oil buddies rich is....OK then.
- BossKey, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6"in a scene reminiscent of Saddam Hussein's statue falling in Baghdad"
Which, by the way, was COMPLETELY staged for the media. Regular Iraqi citizens were kept out of the rather empty plaza by US tanks.
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article2842.htm - swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5How does "planned action" vs "took action" disprove my point? Point is, it has since been proven that Clinton was successful in dealing with Saddam - in 1998 he had WMDs and wasn't co-operating with the UN, Clinton delt with it, and in 2003 he had no WMDs and was co-operating with the UN.
- Dewhead, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Who gives a rip what the rest of the world thinks?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5digg users are horrifyingly out of touch with reality
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I wonder why a lot of democrats thought the same way Bush and Clinton did?
http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/wmdquotes.asp - GeneralFault, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7If Cheney can keep his war confined to D.C., then we will keep our protests confined to D.C..
- khail250, on 10/10/2007, -7/+10when people die/ are murdered for someones actions, its no longer politics its personal
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Wrong again. Please do some research on your Democrat Party - http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/wmdquotes.asp
- Gaki, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Statistically speaking, Republicans are more likely to watch NASCAR, more likely to smoke, more likely to be Christian and have a lower overall level of education than Democrats.
- Fallout911, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4They forgot to ride the head and to hit it with their sandals.
- rarson, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I'm going to sum it up for you in 4 words: read the ***** article. Obviously, you didn't, because I was thinking the same thing when I read the Digg description.
- Albionshores, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Both Powell and Rice are on record in 2001 saying the Iraqi army had not been rebuilt. Short clip.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=y1X-I-38lrU&mode=related&search= - jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5no, I was pointing out the Title was an intentional lie. I dislike Cheney, but I also dislike liars.
- Gaki, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3So ... the fact that Saddam was being beligerent in 1998 was the justification for the invasion over 5 years later? Give me a break.
As per the public statements (and books) by both Hans Blix and Scott Ritter, they felt that Saddam had largely destroyed his WMD capability and their inspections had found nothing to indicate non-compliance. It was George W that ordered inspectors out prior to the invasion, in fact, not Saddam himself ... a fact that no one seems to remember. If you ALSO remember, the UN voted prior to the invasion and came to the conclusion that force was NOT needed (hence the infamous Freedom Fries BS), despite plenty of bribery/extortion by the US and the UK in order to get Security Council members on side. As such, there was no legal support for the invasion because, as per the UN vote, the previous SC resolution was NOT breached or was not breached enough to warrant military intervention.
The US still continues to use that canard as a justification for the war, with many RW hacks endless quoting the security council resolution directly, but plainly ignoring the fact that the UN itself deemed that the resolution had not be materially breached. It was quite clear that the US wanted to act with UN backing, if possible, but was quite willing to use the UN resolution as a justification whether they got that backing or not. That they had to bribe dozens of SC members with financial packages a few days prior to the vote and were caught with bugs in those members rooms was reprehensible.
So ... who gives a flying fig what Clinton had to say, again? This war was planned YEARS before it happened by the PNAC and 9/11 was just the overall justification (along with the UN resolution, the WMD that were never found, toppling Saddam or whatever else they come up with this week). - iDragonFly, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yes decency... like when Republican operatives were brought into Florida to disrupt the recount?
- swrostmore, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Actually Saddam was fully cooperating with the UN in 2003, which is why the UN did not approve military action against him.
- sbossinger, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Cheney should get his day in court. So should Bush. Just like Clinton did.
- MacEnvy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5It does when the protesters are his neighbors.
- vimanaboy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Or just stay hydrated ;)
- CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4It's very convenient how the democrats won't even discuss what their positions on this used to be. We all need to remember that the Clintons and a lot of democrats were on board with removing Saddam from power before Bush was ever elected. They were all convinced they he was building bad weapons. Don't try to tell that to the Digg mob though, they really don't want to hear it. It is much easier to hate Bush and react with raw emotion. On thing the digg mob absolutely cannot stand is any viewpoint not in line with the ideology of the mob.
And no, this is not a statement in support of the war in Iraq. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6@TJATL
The Niger uranium forgeries refers to falsified classified documents initially revealed by Italian intelligence. These documents depict an attempt by the regime of Iraq's Saddam Hussein to purchase yellowcake uranium from the African country of Niger during the Iraq disarmament crisis.
On the basis of these documents and other indicators, the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom asserted that Iraq had attempted to procure nuclear material for the purpose of creating what they called weapons of mass destruction, referred to as WMD, in defiance of United Nations sanctions.
