- cweathers, on 10/11/2007, -2/+47Fourthbranch just creates rules as they fit him.
- PDAIsAOk, on 10/11/2007, -1/+29This is what happens when you give a child too many privileges
- Jambi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+28Wrong, he wasn't part of the Executive Branch back when it was inconvenient to be so. Now he is. See, the best of the both worlds!
- cryptomystic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22Can we just ***** impeach these ***** already ?
- Gerz1219, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16No, that's not true. Cheney's spokesman originally tried to argue that "the reporting requirement does not apply to [the Office of the Vice President], which has both legislative and executive functions," and that the office did not consider itself an "entity within the executive branch".
http://oversight.house.gov/story.asp?ID=1371
Only after Cheney's own supporters found it difficult to make this argument with a straight face did Cheney's camp retreat to the retconned argument that the OVP isn't an executive agency. - theNazz, on 10/11/2007, -4/+20Battery operated Dick still ***** on the USA? What a surprise!

Time to put power back in the hands of the public. - Gaki, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12You lapdogs are getting ever so tiresome.
Project for the New American Century. Google it. Check the start date. Check the members. Read the documents there. The neocons were planning to invade Iraq at least 4 years before they even got Bush into power. There are records of the letters they wrote to Clinton telling him he was an idiot for not invading during HIS term. There at least a dozen documents there that talk about securing the Middle East oil supply in case of a future conflict with China. Wolfowitz. Perle. Cheney. Rumsfeld. They were ALL members.
So, when you talk about how they haven't committed a crime - the crime IS the war. Unprovoked, preplanned attack on a sovereign nation. Defying subpeonas is just chicken feed, so take your "Bush is more moral" and stuff it. Bush can't even SPELL moral. - ronpaul20008, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14"Fourthbranch just creates rules as they fit him." ...... Fourth Reich is more like it....
- Gaki, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10A recent article said that Bush is paving the way for a dictatorship, using a false emergency to kick in all the "emergency powers" he has been cobbling together for the past year. I wonder if there's enough time for me to get a green card so that I can march in the streets and help oust the bastard myself. It is going to be a history defining moment when the Americans take back their country and it would be wonderful to be a part of it.
- Gir9000, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Cheney: What Leahy?, I cant hear you over the paper shredders... yea I think George is right, lets just call this one executive privilege!
- knomevol, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Exciting times! Brings to mind the true majesty of the combined work and wisdom of our founders...
If, in the opinion of the people, the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates. But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed.
— George Washington, President of the United States, Farewell Address, 1796 - chicoer2001, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11How long before we impeach him? Are we waiting for him to shot some animal and have sex with it. Maybe that will get impeachment rolling.
- NuclearBlast, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Yeah. After eating both of their ***** for too long, you start to feel sick to your stomach.
- kjizzle, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Fourth branch... any relation to taco bell's fourth meal?

(202) 225-0100 - wendelgee2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5My favorite part is where the evidence gathered during Bush's tenure is now somehow "Clinton's intelligence." Unbelievable. All of the intelligence up until 2003 was Clinton's? Two plus years into his term and he had NO intelligence of his own? All of it was Clinton's and was a couple years old? You really should watch this PBS documentary: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/darkside/
I know, I know, PBS is a nest of liberals, but the documentary and anecdotal evidence they summon when making their argument is pretty airtight. You owe it to yourself to get several different perspectives on the issue. - thelostemperor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5"The whole world agreed with it"
You clearly weren't paying attention. Everyone with an actual brain saw right through it, and said so. Where were you? Drooling to Fox News every night? - coolkatz321, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5How can Cheney possibly invoke executive privilege? Wasn't just a few weeks ago he claimed he wasn't part of the executive branch? My god, this administration sickens me.
- dyslexicsUNTIED, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5he doesnt have balls, he is an arrogant *****, that's the simple fact
- dn11, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4When the fanatic religious right that bombs abortion clinics takes your side (and is still in the small minority supporting this president) do you cringe, roll your eyes, shake your head? Or, is the enemy or your enemy your friend?
- gorgonzola22, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4"...it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed."
Bears repeating. - Jamihabs, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Call your congressman, tell him to pull his balls out of Nancy Pelosi’s purse and start impeachment proceedings
- wendelgee2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Balls. I guess those are sort of important...I'd prefer good judgment. Balls is the sort of quality that made Evil Kneival jump over 4 flaming buses, which isn't any way to run a country.
- dn11, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3He's Canadian, and invited as far as I'm concerned
- draebor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3How come nobody ever shoots at the bad ones?
- mabhatter, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2He has NO Constitutional functions that REQUIRE privilege. He may be getting into trouble here. He is not a Constitutional presidential advisor, while he's expected to be kept up-to-date on functions in case something was to happen, he's not a decision maker or cabinet official. He is a separate office and can't cover for the prez.
- AeonTorpor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Does someone need to draw you a map, or are you just being argumentative?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4LEGALITY TEST FOR WEAPONS UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW
Four reasons why using depleted uranium weapons violates the UN Convention on Human Rights:
TEMPORAL TEST – Weapons must not continue to act after the battle is over.
ENVIRONMENTAL TEST – Weapons must not be unduly harmful to the environment.
TERRITORIAL TEST – Weapons must not act off of the battlefield.
HUMANENESS TEST – Weapons must not kill or wound inhumanly.
DEPLETED URANIUM IS A WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION! - mos6507, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Maybe if he goes hunting with anybody other than his campaign contributors someone might accidentally shoot him.
- Axfire, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3The voices in his head are starting to confuse him.
- joel2600, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2is that a taco bell reference?
- cheesehead, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Way to come up with a link.
But it's still sick and ***** up to use that material, regardless - Jamihabs, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Question for level-headed Democrats: I’m curious, when the Truthers take your side in a debate, do you cringe, roll your eyes, shake your head? Or, is the enemy of your enemy your friend?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The whole point is: AFAIK... Cheney doesn't HAVE his own executive PV. Period. He can "invoke" it all he wants, but he does NOT have that PV. Under the Constitution, he definitely doesn't.
- Timetheos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I "can't wait" to watch the contortions that Roberscalitomas will do to support Cheney.
God our great nation has gone to pot. - Timetheos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2When did you stop beating your wife.
- Delphium226, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Standard neoconartist line;
"Bwaaaaaaaaaaaa! Clinton ate my homework! Bwaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
These turds have not enough honor and character to admit they were wrong and they ***** it up. - dn11, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2if more republicans knew how to use the internets i guess they could organize something like that. certainly Ron Paul's people figured it out. but for the record... i'm not on any "secret liberal blog IM list"
- dn11, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I think there's clearly some alcoholism involved with both. Yeah, Dick was drunk when he shot his friend in the face. Yeah, most people who eat a fourth meal at taco bell are late night drunks.
- gwalms, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This blog story had a bit of new information that I hadn't seen yet willgill. The fact that a bit of new information about the Bush administration always leads to saying how 'gay' Bush is isn't my fault, it is HIS.. and well, maybe yours somehow?
- Tweekster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What the hell is she gonna do, everyone knows she is weak
- asskicker32, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Surely this will... oh nevermind
- wonderworm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Wasn't Cheney saying he WASN'T a part of the Executive Branch just last week and now he's trying to claim "Executive" privilege on himself!!???
Can this tyrant have another heart attack please. Someone needs to bust Cheney on this. - UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Don't you guys know? Cheney is part of his own branch.
- justo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1i like how the vp's cousel's last name is 'coffin'
- obliviousfool, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Bush extended executive privilege to Cheney by way of executive order. I forget the number of the order. You'll have to look it up. It hasn't been contested in court yet, but there is always hope for the future. These guys keep extending the power of the president as if another Democrat will never hold the office. Pretty short-sighted, or at least I hope it is short-sighted and they aren't just being sure of their ability to steal elections.
- mabhatter, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1first we have to revoke the national guard movement.. at which point the feds would remove all the real "military" hardware from the bases. Militias were supposed to be STATE run organizations. That way in situations like Iraq, the states could withdraw their troops to cover the home front... but they'd have to be 100% STATE funded for that trick to work. I think this Supreme Court just might take the bait though with their "letter of the law" approach.
- Jamihabs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Anyone who bombs an abortion clinic (or any other building in the US) should be put in jail and possibly executed. However, unlike the truthers, abortion bombers are not only rare, they haven't been making much noise lately. Now that I've answered your question. can you answer mine?
