- inactive, on 05/13/2009, -7/+139It would be nice not to have to listen to Cheney anymore. I get the impression he almost hopes there is an attack so he can feel vindicated, however, one could say he's just asking for it- trying to let the world know we aren't as safe anymore which everyone knows is *****. Cheney likes to forget we were attacked on HIS watch, and that they DID have warning- it was ignored. Furthermore, everything Cheney says while he makes his TV rounds can be used against him, and hopefully it will be- very soon!
Oh and Dick, ***** you very much! - philosophyzombi, on 05/13/2009, -7/+93He will never stop talking. He is a true believer. The fog of his ideology is impervious to facts. The real question is just how much is enough? How many memos/reports/pictures do we need to see before we finally get some indictments?
- kemp34, on 05/13/2009, -6/+89Why are these people still walking free?
- TAwtry, on 05/13/2009, -7/+73Now if he would only Stop talking and confusing the torture issue, we could learn the truth about his denture as our Vice President!
- BBE1965, on 05/13/2009, -9/+73Cheney is a draft dodging bully. Only men who have never seen war relish it. With over a million dead in Iraq he and Bush are in the company of Pol Pot, Hitler, and Stalin, men who also enjoyed torture.
- JoeParanoid, on 05/13/2009, -8/+70“The behavior it described, another knowledgeable source said, raised concerns not just about the detainees but also about the Americans who had inflicted the abuse, one of whom seemed to have become frighteningly dehumanized.”
This is the reality that the critics are prepared to look at while the supporters of torture want to avoid while at the same time calling the critics unrealistic. Nothing good can come of this, to the torturers or to the world. And the rules of synchronicity seem to be in effect, as this is all happening as John Demjanjuk was again in the news. Time may be perceived as linear, but it has a spooky circularity to it.
On a final note, I'd like to point out how strikingly consistent Cheney has been: scrutinizing everything personally to ensure that everyone was intimidated and nothing slipped through his fingers. If this doesn't demonstrate what a monster he truly is, I don't know what would. Even Himmler didn't want to know all the shabby details and allowed his more squeamish subordinates to transfer to other duties. - inactive, on 05/13/2009, -7/+66I think this story will help bring Cheney down. The Wasington Post reported that the IG report is the holy grail and when it comes out it sounds like it will show why Cheney has been on the defensive. This story needs to be on the front page.
- Echota, on 05/13/2009, -7/+55Cheney should be behind bars!
- kasjogren, on 05/13/2009, -1/+42I just don't understand how we saw him maybe twice a year for 8 years but now that we can't get ***** rid of him.
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -9/+37The crimes they committed are revolting, I'm ashamed to be an American.....
- ap0616, on 05/14/2009, -1/+27Part me wants him to keep talking. The more he's out there, the worse he looks, and the more exposure he gets, the less likely he'll be able to demand a closed door hearing like that douche, Rove.
- novenator, on 05/14/2009, -3/+27There is already evidence of torture. Lots of it and more coming out every week.
- anarchist101, on 05/13/2009, -4/+25Well said!
"I get the impression he almost hopes there is an attack so he can feel vindicated.."
If he has the power and influence to pull it off, then there very well may be one. Whatever it takes to justify his actions. This man is a true monster..a psychopath!
Let the punishment fit the crime! Try him and hang him!
I say hanging, because it should be seen to be a shameful death, as a deterrent to any future successors who might contemplate playing god on the public payroll.
Don't forget Bush either! Any politician, government employee, or member of Congress who violated our Constitution must be brought to justice!
It must be seen that rich or poor, justice is blind, to restore the people's faith in their leadership, or we will be in a much worse situation sooner or later. The accountability of government to the people, and the Constitution and the Rule of Law, must be restored or our society could collapse. - mgraham80, on 05/13/2009, -7/+28It runs in the family, too. Have y'all seen Liz Cheney's work these past few weeks? She's a BSing, lying, obfuscating powerhouse in her own right.
Something in the water at the Cheney household? - inactive, on 05/14/2009, -6/+26don't let the trolls bury this important story!!! Digg it up folks. Let's fight to get this on the front page for all to see.
Cheney should be in prison but the trolls only care about protecting the GOP. They do not care about the rule of law and they don't care what their former vice president has done to the United States. - seltaeb4, on 05/14/2009, -0/+13What do his teeth have to do with it?
- Waiting2awake, on 05/14/2009, -2/+14Because they are being protected from it by the current powers that be...
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+11A toothsome question, indeed.
- clvngodess, on 05/14/2009, -0/+11Yes, blood.
- AgeofMastery, on 05/14/2009, -3/+14You mean the same way people are convinced Obama is a Kenyan Muslim?
- SpinningHead, on 05/14/2009, -0/+11Quit conflossing the issue!
- THEchemisTREE, on 05/14/2009, -0/+11Tenure? Or did I miss something?
- AmazingSteve, on 05/14/2009, -0/+11Yeah you did. It turns out that Cheney's false teeth are evil and responsible for most of his douchebagery.
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -6/+16this story would be on the front page if not for the torture apologists and Cheney defenders who are trying to keep people from hearing the truth. This story shows evidence that Cheney obstructed justice and covered up crimes--crimes that were reported to the Justice Department for investigation. Meanwhile, Liz Cheney's lies are what we call news. For shame.
Digg the heck out of this story people. Don't let the terrorists (repugs) win. - noupsell, on 05/14/2009, -0/+9he can't handle the tooth
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -5/+13It's sad that the truth is being suppressed by people who don't want other people to read this story. I guess the truth does hurt
- jleopold, on 05/14/2009, -3/+11Stop playing games. Seriously. And start reading more.
- Wholekernalcorn, on 05/14/2009, -1/+9Lol...Now Pelosi is blaming Bush for something she knew about and Chris Mathews is saying it's OK to torture in emergencies. This whole thing is getting ridiculous.
- mechnoch, on 05/14/2009, -3/+10oh, now I remember why I blocked you.
- novenator, on 05/14/2009, -5/+12Cheney probably threatened to lock them up in his man-sized safe.
- crapuccino, on 05/14/2009, -3/+10He's not yet realised that when you're already in a hole, the best thing you can do is to quit digging.
Let him keep digging. He might just bury himself. - Echota, on 05/14/2009, -4/+11Here Are a Few of the Torture Photos Obama Doesn't Want You To See.
(leaked to the Sydney Morning Herald several years ago):
http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2009/05/here-are-fe ... - inactive, on 05/14/2009, -1/+8Is anyone surprised about this? ....... AT ALL?????? When are they going to just ***** get in gear and bring war crimes charges against this smug, fat douchebag?
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -3/+9It's pretty obvious you're flame-baiting, so I won't take your comment seriously.
- clvngodess, on 05/14/2009, -0/+6Perhaps, but remember, the government is, well, a closed system. There were Dems that went along with this ***** too.
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -3/+9Silly or sensational?
Nah, just plain dumb. - Kyzzyxx, on 05/14/2009, -0/+6pop, you are seriously one of the dumbest ***** I have ever met. The evidence is so monumental ANYONE would have to be a sheer idiot not to see it. And I don't give a rats ass on the spin you are trying to put on your view of the evidence. This is almost like watching the theory of 'for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction' take place in real time. In other words, as the evidence against them has climbed, your stupidity/ignorance has lowered equally.
Ahh, I think I have figured out what your problem is. You had too much pop rocks and soda and your head is now filled with a poisonous gas.
Seriously. You are as dumb as they come. At least you will get to live a pleasant life of bliss. - inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+6that explains it!
- AgeofMastery, on 05/14/2009, -3/+9Well, I'm one of those "waterboarding is torture" but i agree with your point.
- Echota, on 05/14/2009, -4/+10Is this the best we can do?
Is Cheney going to get away with the crimes he has done?
The Republicans are tickled to death that Obama isn't going to release those photos.
Oh they are all in agreement that President Obama is doing the right thing by not releasing them.
How many damn times has the Republican party been in agreement with Obama since he's been elected! - inactive, on 05/14/2009, -6/+12I can't believe we are still arguing back and forth about this *****. If Bush & Cheney were Democrats they would be impeach and hung for treason. But Republican politicians are untouchable sacred cows.
Remember kids, anytime you brake the law just tell police you are a Republican. - deema1, on 05/14/2009, -0/+5So now that none of the laws enacted by the prior administration have been repealed, none of mechanisms instated for their grievous sins have been reversed, and the wars continue indefinitely, does that mean you are saying the same thing about the current administration? Or are you speaking in hyperbole?
I hope you are speaking in hyperbole. - SpinningHead, on 05/14/2009, -1/+6@waiting
I have to disagree. I mean there are some doe-eyed followers, but most of us liberals are raising a ruckus over issues like this and not falling in lock-step. - Hillsfar, on 05/14/2009, -2/+7Luckily I don't think there is a statute of limitations. If he lives as long as I think he will, we may yet see justice.
- zunipus, on 05/14/2009, -1/+6"I'm ashamed to be an American....."
Now now, take a moment to get some perspective. Benedict Arnold was an American. He was also a traitorous villain. But the fact of his existence does not equate to shame for America. He brought shame on himself for his personal crimes.
Equally, the PNAC Kristol Kult of Krazies, who made up the majority of the Bush League White House, do not equate to shame for America. Ignorant people elected the Bush League into power, twice. But ignorance is curable and forgivable. The crimes of the PNAC scum are not, but they also brought shame upon themselves for their personal crimes.
One can remain a worthwhile, patriotic and decent American while being ashamed of the Bush League criminals, desirous of their prosecution as traitors, liars and crooks.
America is not dead. The Constitution was ignored but not destroyed. The spirit that makes this the most free and vital country of humans on Earth lives on despite the evil of a small group of abusive power addicted psychotics. - orlandogeek, on 05/14/2009, -0/+5I'm not ashamed to be an American, but I am ashamed at the dark, morally & Constitutionally bankrupt government we the people re-elected in 2004.
- 0tis, on 05/14/2009, -0/+5I wish that were true, but some people refuse to see the bad side.
- Hermmunster, on 05/14/2009, -0/+4Dude, they committed crimes, flat out. And murder was one of them. We don't torture. We don't let those we elect make laws for themselves. They can't excuse committing murder. War and the death as a result of war isn't murder, but taking a captive and torturing them to death is murder.
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -2/+6Thank you for admitting the Bush Administration committed crimes.
