- hawkeye17, on 06/02/2008, -9/+64This goes directly to the man's character as it's proof that he can and will lie about anything. He can't even admit his mistake in that interview and tries to cover it with a lie, something he's quite comfortable doing apparently. Enjoy the Legacy there Dick.
- Berkana, on 06/03/2008, -1/+52"Wisdom of the war?" You mean like when he said it was a bad idea to occupy Iraq back before he became a war profiteer?
Cheney on invading Iraq: "it would be a quagmire."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BEsZMvrq-I - inactive, on 06/03/2008, -4/+40Why do you hate America you nut job?
- greytfriend, on 06/03/2008, -4/+36That remark was the most infuriating thing I ever saw on TV. It showed such total lack of respect for the interviewer and the audience. I can understand him making a point about government being responsible for focusing on the doing the right thing and not necessarily the popular thing, but he didn't do that. He just indicated that he doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks and can't even be bothered to respond to questions at an interview he agreed to do. Just stay home next time.
- Waiting2awake, on 06/03/2008, -5/+29I'll ask America the question again.....
Wouldn't it have been easier to deal with these guys when it was *just* a stolen election? - kemp34, on 06/03/2008, -2/+17Complete moron. By "daily fluctuations" do you mean every month for years on end? The Iraq War has been opposed by a solid majority for quite some freaking time jackass!
- rexblade, on 06/03/2008, -3/+15This should scare all of us please pass this on to everyone you know and especially every soldier you know. This effectively destroys democracy...again. If your jaw doesn't hit the ground at 11:40 into it then you wernt paying attention.
http://brasschecktv.com/page/327.html - inactive, on 06/03/2008, -3/+13Cheney is soooooo cute!
- Blakechi, on 06/03/2008, -2/+12I'm conflicted. On one hand this is yet another example of Herr Cheney's complete ignorance and ass clown demeanor. On the other hand it's West Virginia - a hardcore red state that needs a wakeup call on how little the people they vote into power care about them.
- neognostic, on 06/03/2008, -1/+10The sheeple you refer to are the neocons and Republicans who elected this administration twice, and blindly follow it's every move, no matter how wrong those moves are. Lies, deception, war propaganda, torture, false imprisonment, and destruction of the Constitution are standard operating procedure and you dumb asses keep on bowing to the evil emperor and his clueless minions.
- maxpower17@digg, on 06/03/2008, -2/+10something about Cheney just makes me want to stick my foot in his ass and make him cry
- neognostic, on 06/03/2008, -0/+8Don't give him any pleasure, I'm sure that would be a turn-on for him.
- byronm, on 06/03/2008, -2/+9What else would you expect from a man who shoots his friend and makes his friend apologize for being shot?
- AnarkeIncarnate, on 06/03/2008, -3/+9Why? Because the government ANSWERS TO THE PEOPLE. They are not some entity that we are beholden to, but rather a power that we as the people grant to government to serve our interests. When they cease to serve our interests and serve their own by making war and pillaging our hard earned wealth and goodwill, they have become worse than terrorists. They have become greed-filled traitors.
We hang traitors in this country. - NotOptium, on 06/03/2008, -0/+6Which came first, the douche or the bag?
- lynx44, on 06/03/2008, -0/+5I love that because you didn't explicitly state that you hate Cheney you're being dugg down. Its just a joke people, calm down.
- Waiting2awake, on 06/03/2008, -1/+6Step cousin, I might be able to buy that line of horse ***** if I was a complete retard and unable to remember further than 5 minutes - Which explains why you seem to hold that asinine philosophy.
Look around at your country asswipe - It ain't yours anymore and probably never was. You're as incapable of seeing the world around today any better than you saw it back then. THAT is what is truly scary.
However, seeing as the republican philosophy has failed so badely. Given that the two party system has been displayed for what it is(A shame), and knowing that your economic strength has been pilfered away from you by your bankers......Maybe people like you should just shut the hell up and let grown ups fix your mess before you speak again?
MMMMkay?
- krisstanleyau, on 06/03/2008, -3/+8"Vice President Cheney, did you know you shot that man in the face?"..... Cheney, "So?"
- usingpond, on 06/03/2008, -3/+8How does the Republican party still exist?! What a ***** trainwreck. How can people be behind an administration like this and then vote for a sequel? It makes my ***** head explode, I can't handle it!!!!
- m0tbaillie, on 06/03/2008, -3/+8HAHAHAHAHAHA this is either the absolute best troll ever, or the dumbest ***** post on Digg to date.
I just can't decide.... - pintomp3, on 06/03/2008, -2/+7what a dick.
- flaknugget, on 06/03/2008, -2/+7"Go F yourself"
Another inspirational quote from R. Cheney. - Cubby2Zeta, on 06/03/2008, -1/+5This is retarded, so what, we don't elect people to go which way the wind is blowing. We elect people to make decisions in our stead, because we don't have the access to information/time to make every decision. That's why you elect people that you think will make decisions based on your value system, not wait to see what the people "feel" is the way to go, because people are retarded, and don't have informed opinions 100% of the time.
Look at these comments, I'll bet most of these morons didn't even vote. - Nemoso, on 06/03/2008, -1/+5What about the other 1/3? Because they're the minority, their views should be ignored? I really hate standing up for this *****, but folks, that's why we elect these people: to limit majority rule. I bet more than 2/3 of Americans hate paying taxes too, but that doesn't mean we should do away with them.
Next time, elect someone who isn't such a douchebag. - rthakidn, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3That is really niave. Yes they answer to the people, but its by the power of the ballot, not by micro-managing or governing through public opinion pole. The president was "hire", given a contract, by the American people. If they are displeased by the service they have received, vote him/them out of office. In business or government, only one person can make decisions, and yes sometimes they're screwed up decisions, not 535 of congress, not the public at large. All this talk of greed and traitors is fueled by hatred. YOU need to get over it. You guys are tiresome. Treason, who defines it? YOU! You ass hats praise people that would blow up Americans.
- skribble, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3I really, really don't like Cheney, however, as much as I hate to say this... looking at the transcript his statements here make sense. See the problem is people get caught up in this piddley he-said she-said stuff and miss the bigger picture. It only takes one nut job to turn a reasonable position in to some lunatic fringe.
- inajeep, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3I believe he knows exactly what he's doing and nothing is done on ignorance. I think the word your looking for is indifference to other people's opinions.
- CrazedLeper, on 06/03/2008, -3/+6He is an evil beast and you are irretrievably stupid.
- mahler, on 06/03/2008, -4/+7We'll as much as I dislike Cheney... this was a pretty normal answer. For him there is really no point in looking at "the fluctuations in the public opinion polls." Which is the reason he said: "So [what is your point]?"
And they are fluctuations, which is a good point..... the majority of the American people were in favor of the war and now want to abandon it. It says alot about fluctuating public opinion, which is not good for setting the course. But in this case I agree with the Iraq war’s not being worth fighting.... (never was) .... so I still dislike Cheney. In this case, he has a good point though.
Burried - Gauthic, on 07/09/2008, -3/+6I'm surprised he didn't force the public to apologize for hearing him say 'So?'....seems pretty on par with that powermonger.
- byronm, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2So you're sitting here telling me that because we were lied to and thats okay because we bought into the lie and those who created the lie should not be held accountable? They can just say "so" [whats your point]
There is a reason the word "Sheeple" was coined.
I own my own business. When i'm held accountable to something i can't tell those that rely on me "so". The government is for and by the people. If the people want something different then for ***** sake the government should do what the people want. However irrational that may be the will of the people is the reason the government is there. Our government is not supposed to have a will of its own. - thelastwarrior, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3Cheney will stick his dick where he pleases...
- lancert, on 06/03/2008, -3/+5Only 230 more days of this crap...
- chevyorange, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2I went along with it in a positive manner because I thought to myself, "the president of the United States wouldn't lie to our faces would he? Of course he might, but I hate to believe it." Well I did. We now know we were lied to. It wasn't the right thing.
- m0tbaillie, on 06/03/2008, -3/+5Servicemembers volunteer to serve their *country*, not the maligned, malevolent, duplicitous political agendas of some crusty old prick.
- inactive, on 06/03/2008, -3/+5Dick Cheney is an *****...
- Waiting2awake, on 06/03/2008, -5/+7Yes it is ruled by mob rule. Your constitution has been removed effectively from protecting its citizens.... Most definitely is the US ruled by a mob.
- bubba9999, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2You know, it's just not a lemon party without old Dick.
- GiJoeBob, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3"I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls."
That is the definition of leadership whether you like it or not. - smotpoker1, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3I wish this whole Administration would just go to jail for 25 years and the top echelon gets the death penalty "off with their heads".
- byronm, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Dugg *****!
- CrazedLeper, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3Dugg for typing with an exploded head.
- mbraynard, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3Rarely is the 'right' thing the popular thing. I'd rather have leaders who were did what they think is the right thing rather than be bended by the irrational surveys of the masses.
And REMEMBER: when the Iraq war was launched, the American people overwhelmingly supported it, as did a majority of both parties elected officials in both houses of the Congress. - 955701, on 06/03/2008, -3/+5To that I answer, So?
So what if we stayed under British rule until a later date? We'd still become independent eventually - look at all of the other colonized places - India, Palestine, Australia, South Africa.
So what if the Russians had gotten their flag up to the moon and we didn't? We haven't been back since. The usefulness of it has been in the resulting advances, not in colonizing the moon. And technology progresses with or without trips to the moon.
So now let's focus on your last statement. "Leaders are the ones who do the right thing...". What does this have to do with Cheney or the rest of the topic? Invading Iraq can be argued as the wrong thing as well, so it's not actually a universal "right thing".
The alternative futures that you suggest would make no difference in the long run and Dick Cheney is not a leader. He's a warmonger. - migitalwarfare, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2Someone needs to remind Cheney of what a public servant's role is
- ultimateMJ, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2"economics strength has been pilfered away from you by your bankers..."
Actually, every successive generation in America has had more wealth than their predecessors. And thats even after adjusting for inflation. Stop taking everything Ron Paul says at face value, MMMMkay?
http://www.arizonaindicators.org/pages/innovation/ ...
This website has a nice graph at the bottom, which will show you that for almost every one of the last 36 years the US has gained per capita wealth (again, adjusting for inflation). - NotOptium, on 06/03/2008, -0/+2"My family and I are deeply sorry for all that Vice President Cheney and his family have had to go through this week."
- bshock, on 06/04/2008, -0/+1Something false from Uncle Dick? Say it isn't so!
- angrykeyboarder, on 06/04/2008, -0/+1For crying out loud, his name is DICK is it not?
