Impeachment is not required, just prosecution.
This will be easier after 1/20.
But, Bush does have his back-up plan, which is to flee to his estate in Paraguay which has no extradition treaty with the US.

FYI:
The 9/11 war powers of "State of Emergency" were recently renewed.
These broad powers need to be stopped, asafp because they essentially legalize dictatorship!
- SRSFinance, on 12/21/2008, -2/+13Mismanagement? How about for starting a war based on false pretenses? How about for invading a foreign country without provocation? How about for crony capitalism that has essentially robbed the public blind?
And those are just the headliners. A vast ugly iceberg of crime and unconstitutional behavior is sitting right below the surface. Spying on the public via illegal wire tapping and quashing free speech at campaign rallies just to name a few. - enssss, on 12/21/2008, -3/+14Impeach the President and Vice President NOW for mismanagement of the war, and for the credibility they lost getting us into the war in the first place. This will help the next president end the war sooner and save more lives.
Sure they can use the "war time president" defense if they want to. But that is for the process in the courts. Whether or not the actions of a president are legal can be a separate question from whether or not the actions are impeachable. - woodsjransom, on 12/21/2008, -0/+10Uh oh, *ALERT* we got some sick psychopathic stalkers in Digg.*ALERT* Where is my P-32 space modulator?
- res181hh33, on 12/22/2008, -0/+9"I hope our wisdom will grow with our power, and teach us, that the less we use our power the greater it will be."
-Thomas Jefferson - freedomjoe, on 12/21/2008, -3/+12yes, because ...because... because he said so!
Welcome to our little Fascist experiment with faux democracy:-) Constitution? What's that? - JenniferInMO, on 12/21/2008, -4/+13Keep digging, keep shouting, speak up and speak out. Even if they are all pardoned we must insist on full investigations.
- Anomaly100, on 12/21/2008, -1/+9 He's a war-profiteering old man that had no business pretending to serve our country in the Oval Office as Vice President of anything.
Now I'd talk about this more but I have to go take a Cheney- - profgiles, on 12/21/2008, -2/+8He's going for that "legacy" thing.
- Alheithinn, on 12/22/2008, -0/+5Unfortunately, Lincoln set a precedent and other presidents have followed. Anything to save the Union. But a mistake yesterday does not obligate us to repeat it today. Each time this happens, there is a further corrosion of the Constitution. A line must be drawn and we must hold to it.
- thepoliticalcat, on 12/22/2008, -0/+4Impeachment is a merely political remedy, just a slap on the wrist. TRY them for murder, treason, and the like. That way, they'll get a good long sentence or a good long rope.
- Harboggles, on 12/22/2008, -0/+4Bs Cheney. Your days are numbered.
- sheasie, on 12/22/2008, -0/+3Soooooo... what's a war crime? I mean, if the President can do "anything" in war time, then that makes it impossible for the President to commit a war crime. That doesn't make any sense.
- ackack, on 12/22/2008, -0/+3Interesting.
So when Obama takes office, if his first act is to arrest Bush, Cheney , Rove and the rest and send them to Guantanimo to be waterboarded, it will all be perfectly legal. - drmangrum, on 12/22/2008, -0/+3Well, since Bush has set the precedent for random wars, we could simply threaten war with Paraguay until they give him up. The irony would be grand.
- david76, on 12/22/2008, -0/+3"to protect the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic."
It appears the enemy was domestic, and was the President and VP. - katagana, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2That reminds me of something.... How is that President called who resigned... it reminds me of this video: http://cinematrailers.net/index.php/trailers?task= ... at 2:12...
- Waiting2awake, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2Then Americans citizenry must have a ton of power because I have yet to see them utilize their power. Why are these people still in public office after 7 years of possible war crimes, and 6 years of domestic spying?
- Falldog, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2Sounds like someone just got back from Frost/Nixon
- Waiting2awake, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2Not going to happen. It could have happened months, no, years ago. But it wasn't. Why?
A: They are all on the same team. Just different management teams - the owners they remain the same, and as long as that is the case the public will continue to wallow in the illusion that going after clerks while the owners run lawless is somehow a sign that they are free. - drmangrum, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2Now it all comes together; the wars that seemed to have no purpose suddenly do. I truly hope they go down in the annals of history with the likes of Hitler, Stalin, etc.
- oldhick, on 12/22/2008, -1/+3Because we all care about your guess...
- apexracing, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2That pair cannot come out of office quickly enough, I think.
- drmangrum, on 12/22/2008, -0/+1and that number is 29
- AlaskaLoneWolf, on 12/22/2008, -0/+1He's worried about being remembered as a Hooverish President, then why is the only person he reminds me of is Nixon. If he really wanted to "inspire" me, he should admit his lackluster performance, pitiful skills as President as compared with actual history, and resign. I mean, accept the fact that he has been one of the worst examples of a leader of the "free" world. Taking our liberty using any possible excuse at his convenience, to put the blame on everyone else, but himself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Nixon - pimothy, on 12/22/2008, -0/+0If you notice any of Cheney's outragous statements contain some kind of weasle word to get off the hook from telling the truth, which escapes him,( "so to speak").
- westtexas357, on 12/22/2008, -1/+1I wonder if any of you have ever examined the war powers act or executive orders.
You would do well to study them as well as who instigated them.
Cheney is correct.
It is not the way this country was supposed to be run but he is absolutely correct.
STOP getting your political education and your history from movies or internet posts.
Wake up. - inactive, on 12/22/2008, -3/+1Obama is too busy trying to keep himself and his cabinet from being implicated in Blagogate. My guess is Obama wouldn't prosecute Vice-President Cheney. He would try to extort money instead. Not the change we need.
- AWBoy666, on 12/21/2008, -20/+3I love how I can pretty much just follow one user's shouts and find all of the BS stories I want to bury.
