- Ralphdraw3, on 01/04/2009, -3/+306Interesting how Cheney keeps saying "EVERYONE AGREED" to all the things to we did.
LOL - Attorney General Ashcroft refused to extend the secret wire-tapping program. Bush/Cheney sent Al Gonzales (at the time White House counsel) barging into A.Gen. Ashcroft's hospital room and tried to get him to sign the extension. Ashcroft refused....
Not long after, Ashcroft was pushed out of the Bush administration along with another dissident, Colin Powell. - MiddleAmerica, on 01/04/2009, -20/+195
More lies from our Republican White House...
- JenniferInMO, on 01/04/2009, -9/+120It's Republican lie weekend:

There is this too: http://digg.com/political_opinion/A_President_Forg ...
Lots O' lies this weekend:

Must be read with this one: http://digg.com/world_news/Suicide_bomber_kills_35 ... - inactive, on 01/05/2009, -3/+110Go ***** yourself, Mr. Cheney.
- rebotfc, on 01/05/2009, -0/+84So a murder aint murder if you don't get caught?
- kemp34, on 01/04/2009, -7/+69LMFAO at Cheney's insane and ridiculous attempt at "logic". This guy is a real character. Comedy gold.
Justice will only be restored when these men are tried and imprisoned. - CloakandSwagger, on 01/04/2009, -10/+72Regardless of the fact that Cheney represents the most hardcore of neoconservatives, his comments shouldn't be skewed into a silly Republican vs Democrat issue.
If it were simply a Republican vs Democrat issue, don't you think the Democrats would have remained loyal to the law of the land and tried to hold this Administration accountable after the midterm election? They didn't.
Therefore, as much as you hate to hear it, what Cheney says is basically true.
Since the Bush Administration won't be held accountable for its numerous attrocities, then it's easy to conclude that anyone from any party (including Obama) can come into power and conduct themselves accordingly with the same level of impunity, driven by a desperate military industrial complex and expect the people to remain fearfully obedient.
While I'd like to think Obama's Administration would have more respect for the law of the land and its citizens' basic human rights, I really don't think it'll be their decision to make. - algaeturd, on 01/05/2009, -4/+53It's despicable that Bush was never impeached for the lies and crimes he committed regularly during his reign of terror. Disgusting. We can't even tell our kids: "Look...we TRIED to do the right thing."
Now we can just tell them how dumb and uneducated the generation that came before was.
Seriously. It's disgusting that we couldn't send a message to our kids and their kids and let them know we knew it was wrong. Sad, sad, sad. And Cheney's right in a way because nobody had the balls and Pelosi will be remembered as the woman who enabled Bush and Cheney....bottom line. Shame on that bitch.
I'll NEVER FORGET. - inactive, on 01/04/2009, -27/+69More ranting from Cheney, a treasonous psychopath!!!
(BTW, most top Democrats are on the same team as most top Republicans: The NWO/globalist team!!!) - rewinn, on 01/05/2009, -0/+40IF "everyone agreed" ... why didn't they take it to a judge?
Warrantless wiretapping BY DEFINITION excludes the judiciary. - dtr300, on 01/04/2009, -0/+37Yeah, that "everyone agreed" line sounds just like Oliver North when he was lying to Congress. It's a typical and very common way for someone under questioning to distance himself from responsibility. Another thing to watch for: when he says "we" did this or that, even when the question posed is asking about him alone.
- jab46, on 01/04/2009, -5/+40Cheney is an ASS CLOWN!
I can't wait to see him rot in hell! - Siffy, on 01/05/2009, -1/+33"I don’t believe we violated anybody’s civil liberties," he said.
WHAT! I have never been more pissed off by a statement!
Explain to me then why my parents [both retired] were held by US homeland for over 30 hours, without a reason, treated like criminals, held in a cell, denied phone calls, had they visas canceled and escorted by police on to a plane ! WHY, because they can, why! Because my parents were only guilty of being Muslim. Till this day no reason has been given.
If this is not a violation of civil liberties then what it?! - Lomstradamus, on 01/04/2009, -7/+39Thank you Nancy ***** Pelosi!!
- FarOutGrace, on 01/05/2009, -7/+37He isn't in the White House YET and you are condemning him. I suppose you think that is fair. Cheney is full of *****. You can't compare our President elect to that?!!
- BIGOTHER1, on 01/04/2009, -5/+35I don't think we do our children any favors to give the rewriting of history being done now wide publicity. They are simply putting out the fertilizer for the over the top embroideries of right wing radio and tv. It works. By the time my son, born in 1974, was in high school he was taught, and believed, that we could have won the Vietnam war if it hadn't been for protestors. Kill these lies at the source, please.
- mikelieman, on 01/05/2009, -1/+27Let's see if a JURY OF PEERS "agrees" with Cheney and Bush's CHOICE to violate both 18 USC 1001 and 18 USC 371, eh?
- dotRoot, on 01/05/2009, -3/+27Cheney is an idiot. Just ask his hunting buddy.
- Anomaly100, on 01/05/2009, -3/+24FTA:
"I would hope [Obama] would avoid doing what others have done in the past, which is letting the campaign rhetoric guide his judgment in this absolutely crucial area," Cheney said. "We were very careful, we did everything by the book, and in fact we produced very significant results."
Does this wreak of desperation or what. He hopes Obama doesn't let rhetoric guide him? When this guy was supposed to be VP, he wasn't around, and now that he's on his way out.... - scamper22, on 01/05/2009, -0/+20please, I just woke up.
Let us not ever mention ***** and Nancy Pelosi in the same sentence/ - inactive, on 01/05/2009, -0/+20And shooting disagreeing old men in the face is always an accident if you are the VP.
- joand315, on 01/05/2009, -1/+20Not even people in the military believed that.
- Ralphdraw3, on 01/04/2009, -9/+28Please sign letter of petition for Special Prosecutor to investigate Bush/ Cheney;
http://digg.com/politics/Sign_Petition_letter_to_n ... - kemp34, on 01/05/2009, -3/+21So every criminal that has yet to be punished for misdeeds has committed no crime?
This is a pure failure of logic. - Shakermaker, on 01/05/2009, -0/+17It's almost like he's daring the American public to stand up and do something about it - but again, like sheep, the Americans are watching TV, and twiddling their thumbs, rather than protect their Constitution.
- UnConeD, on 01/05/2009, -3/+17Just like most Americans believe the US dropping nukes on Japan "saved millions of potential casualties and forced Japan's surrender" rather than just being a display of power aimed at Stalin.
- Ralphdraw3, on 01/04/2009, -3/+17Letter of Petition for Special Prosecutor for Bush and Cheney:
http://digg.com/politics/Sign_Petition_letter_to_n ... - Fr33th0t, on 01/05/2009, -2/+15Would you mind pointing to the proof that Obama will start banning guns?
- Stormwern, on 01/05/2009, -1/+14"I would hope [Obama] would avoid doing what others have done in the past, which is letting the campaign rhetoric guide his judgment in this absolutely crucial area," Cheney said."
A politician keeping his campaign promises, what a terrifying thought.. >< - ThsGuyRightHere, on 01/05/2009, -2/+15I'm not fan of Bush and Cheney, not by a long shot. And I was proud to vote for Obama. But I think we should move beyond casting this as Republican behavior. Internal to the Republican party there were many who put their faith in Bush and Cheney and were betrayed as a result. Not all Republicans are corrupt Machiavellians and it's flamebait to insinuate that they are. Those who supported Bush and haven't re-evaluated the way the decide who to get behind do show questionable judgment and should be called out on it where appropriate. But statements like this one just encourage more partisan bickering.
- dirtymerkin, on 01/05/2009, -4/+17"Obama, I am your father. Give in to the Dark Side."
- SmpleJohn, on 01/05/2009, -7/+19Unfortunately, yes, but don't pin it down to the fact that it's a Republican White House. I think it's more fair to say it's because we have idiots in the White House.
- Ralphdraw3, on 01/04/2009, -2/+14Speaker Nancy Pelosi voted against the Authorization of Force in 2002
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid voted against Authorization of Force in 2002 - inactive, on 01/05/2009, -1/+13My question to Mr. Cheney is this: Do you really wish to put that to the test?
For your information, "everyone" did not agree and not "everyone" agrees even now. The republican party is continuing to spend what they do not have. They also remain short of humility and genuine honesty and, if they continue to thumb their noses at decency, they might just write themselves right of america's future.
We can only hope. - Aethirig, on 01/05/2009, -0/+12And weed's been legal my whole life!
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -0/+12She is on the take..
- IamNOTmrT, on 01/05/2009, -5/+17So you'll see him there? nice choice of words
- NsuGren, on 01/05/2009, -1/+13"Well, when the president does it that means that it is not illegal"
- roddack, on 01/05/2009, -2/+14The thing I love is how people try and paint it as two different parties and that one is the great evil of our time and the other will be our blessed savior from hellfire. When in fact if you look at both parties they agree on the vast majority of things and both support the expansion of government far beyond its constitutional limits.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -3/+15How would he do that? There isn't any.
But according to him, Obama is a Muslim terrorist, so... - ThsGuyRightHere, on 01/05/2009, -2/+13You may wanna re-think going all defensive there hoss. Bush set a pretty low bar for his successor. Deflecting on the opposition only works for you as a tactic if the opposition's track record is as bad as the guy you're defending. Oh, and it's also an admission that you have no other rebuttal.
- KevinWhite, on 01/05/2009, -0/+11Not exactly the correct analogy. More like:
You commit a murder that the whole country witnesses and no one says anything. And yes, in that case, you got away with it. - Ralphdraw3, on 01/05/2009, -0/+11Bush uses the same "everyone agreed" talking point with regard to the invasion of Iraq and the troop levels. The CIA "agreed", the generals "agreed" etc... In fact, most of the military disagreed with a) the necessity of an invasion b) the number of troops needed to occupy the country..
- Elranzer, on 01/05/2009, -0/+11But... but... but... OBAMA!
(It works even though he's not president yet) - Coopjust, on 01/05/2009, -0/+11Well, it was also a very large statement of power. But the nukes did save thousands of lives. American lives (not having to do a land invasion), and Japanese lives too. Before the nukes, thousands of Japanese were determined to fight to the very end- at a time when there was such little food, they were told by the emperor to eat dog.
After the nuke dropped, Japan was still determined to fight to the death. After the second nuke hit, Hirohito gave up because he realized that trying to fight a country with such a weapon would just end up in annihilation.
While the acts themselves are pretty terrible, the estimates for a land based invasion were millions of more casualties on both sides. I did some research on the topic, and I recently watched a piece from the History Channel on it- most historians concur that the nuke did save lives. - loki2029, on 01/05/2009, -1/+11It took direct audio recordings of Richard Nixon basically admitting guilt before there was any real threat to his presidency. Even when the tapes came to light they tried to make them inadmissible as well. I know the situation is different and that this isn't calling for impeachment, but my point is these guys are pretty damn good at covering their tracks and making any real evidence that could be used as a basis for a conviction disappear. It'd take a prosecutor with some real gumption and cajones to nail these guys.
With that said... dugg and petition signed. - inactive, on 01/05/2009, -1/+11It's not illegal if you don't get caught! Amirite, most of my generation?
- mshtml, on 01/05/2009, -0/+10The 2002 vote had more than enough votes to pass. By voting against passage these two clowns give the illusion of choice when in fact the end result was never in doubt. They both push to continue funding the wars to this day.
- Murdats, on 01/05/2009, -1/+11ah the classic argument of two wrongs make a right
its a foolproof argument, wait no thats not it, its a foolish argument. - oldhick, on 01/05/2009, -0/+10NoLibertarians is claiming to be "impartial".... Look at your screen name. That's rich. I needed a smile this morning and you've provided it. Thanks!
