- ceusa, on 07/08/2009, -5/+81That's B.S.! I get to watch commercials about tampons, but not about a miracle plant that will help this country temendously?!
- JoeParanoid, on 07/08/2009, -7/+66Considering this has become a hot-button political issue and likely proposition on the next ballot, I think refusal to air could violate state election laws.
- sockpuppets, on 07/09/2009, -1/+50If I wasn't smoking a tampon right now I'd dig you up.
- AmnesiacJack, on 07/09/2009, -5/+46How are we suppose to have open and honest debates in this country when the media refuses to cover both sides of any issue? Seeing as how the majority of people get their "news" from the MSM their obvious bias is threatening the growth of this country.
- inactive, on 07/08/2009, -4/+28The powers that be control the media. Therefore, if the media is not behind it, the powers that be will never allow it to happen. Anyone else believe this opinion? I have nothing to back it up.
- Rain12913, on 07/09/2009, -4/+23Amsterdam isn't a country....but I'll pick any country where you didn't receive your education.
- jasmus, on 07/09/2009, -5/+23This just in: TV stations don't want to look like they endorse a controversial issue that is currently illegal.
Is this really a surprise? - orangester, on 07/09/2009, -3/+19I'm just curious as to where all the facts are that prove marijuana is more dangerous than alcohol, cigarettes or any of the schedule 2 or 3 drugs out there. Clearly the best way to deal with a pressing issue in our nation is to ignore it.
- blindhammer, on 07/09/2009, -4/+18Amsterdam isn't a country ...
Oo, he or she edited it to "places." Sneaky sneaky. - trer, on 07/09/2009, -1/+14Same networks don't have problems with drugs that prolong erections.
- blindhammer, on 07/09/2009, -1/+14How's speaking for all Americans working out for you?
- hypodan, on 07/09/2009, -2/+14He's right, do you really want everyone to start wearing sombreros?
Think about it! - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+13Bad analogy. See, killing people is hurtful, whereas smoking weed is not.
- dafragsta, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10More than that, I have to watch commercials from special interest groups who spread pot disinformation to the tune of running from Chopper the junkyard dog who's trying to sic your balls, while in another commercial, they state you just "sit there" deflated on a couch. Which is it. Do potheads do crazy ***** that exerts lots of energy or do they just sit on their ass locked to the couch. OK, there is a little truth to the second one, but you can't have it both ways.
- SPECOPS, on 07/09/2009, -1/+11Let me guess, "doping up" is so sinful, yet, cig smoking and drinking are so "ok" - even though it is a direct cause for top two killers in this nation, but "doping up" hasn't yet killed a single person? Oh yeah, you must be from the South.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -2/+12Americans do want it legalized, so ***** you.
- Rain12913, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but you seem to have things backwards there. If the powers that be control the media, than shouldn't it be "Therefore, if the powers that be are not behind it, the media will never air it"?
- WraTH017, on 07/09/2009, -2/+12Yet the advertise a slew of drugs that about two years from now will end up making a ***** of people sick, and THEN they'll advertise those class action suit commercials against that same drug.
Everybody wins!
The station makes millions, the ambulance chasers make piles of cash, and you probably get a check for 20 bucks from the settlement. Enjoy dialysis for the rest of your life. - atroxodisse, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10I have a job. You'd be shocked and probably a little scared to know what that job is, based on your prejudice. There are no kiddies running the organizations that are promoting the legalization of marijuana. Nor are there any kiddies in the groups of police officers who are for the legalization of marijuana. Now put down your beer.
- S7aind, on 07/09/2009, -0/+9Extenze commercials are worse.
- Rodex123, on 07/09/2009, -2/+11You must be from YouTube...
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+10Call these stations tell them you're going to stop watching, tell them you'll never use their advertisers products ever again.
- Rain12913, on 07/09/2009, -2/+10No, you edited your post. Your original post began" You know what other countries legalize pot? Amsterdam. You wanna be like them?". I hadn't even read your ***** line about Mexico before I began to type my reply calling you out.
Two people wouldn't simultaneously misread your post and call you out within 5 minutes. In the future you'll look like much less of a tool if you claim it was a typo and not go back and edit after two people have already noticed your "mistake". - Rain12913, on 07/09/2009, -1/+7@*****: What "facts" are these? Last I checked, Marijuana has recently been decriminalized in several states (including mine), and the long term polling trends in attitude towards legalization demonstrate that the majority of Americans will support legalization in due time. Am I looking at the wrong facts?
- greenroom628, on 07/09/2009, -1/+7@ashes0
well, on the other side of your argument, you can reverse your argument to say "do you want to keep making pot illegal? do you know what other country keeps pot illegal? bolivia -- do you want to be like them?"
that argument sounds pretty stupid, dude.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_cannabis_ ... - KingGorilla, on 07/09/2009, -1/+5What about the Food Network
- jasmus, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4An add for copyright infringement? Apparently that doesn't hurt anyone either (according the the extrawebs)
- MrColdheart, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4Real simple solution.
Stop listening to those stations and don't patronize any business that supports them. - mytealjacket, on 07/09/2009, -1/+5But tampons don't make you have interesting thoughts.
- KingGorilla, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4That's not my logic at all. I can't believe you could misunderstand such a simple joke
- roomaustin, on 07/09/2009, -1/+5***** the RIAA! sorry wrong fight...
***** the KABC and the KGO and the KNTV! - vinod1978, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4@Defuser - I much rather be a "juvenile idiot" then an alcoholic that dies with liver failure, which I presume you will have to deal with in 10 years.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+5It's legal for medical use (assuming the DEA doesn't arrest you anyways), but this ad calls for legalization for recreational use.
- dafragsta, on 07/09/2009, -1/+5Aren't you supposed to be watching Matlock and Rockford Files right about now? Don't forget to take your Geritol. Your hard candy is next to the clicker. Don't go wandering off again and worrying us to death. We had to call the police to find you last time.
- Cockslap, on 07/09/2009, -4/+8I'm so stoned right now.....
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -3/+6Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, you tool. Do you expect people to take your opinion seriously when it is so obviously supported by ignorance?
- tommybeeasy, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3They're not going to air it b/c most of their advertisers have interests that are threatened by cannabis re-legalization, period. If any of my fellow rational adults believe that either the media, the gov, or law enforcement is gonna allow a rational public debate on the subject you haven't been paying much attention. Organized, civil disobedience is the only way to go. Let's quit ***** whining and act like we remember how to force a change in the status quo. Smoke-ins, get a couple hundred people together and break the law. Let them enforce the law, and force the greater general public face facts, that the punishment is grossly disproportionate to the "crime".
- Blydchyld, on 07/09/2009, -2/+5Yes but now you have been highlighted qas being a *****.
And whats wrong with the dutch? - Feraldr00d, on 07/09/2009, -1/+4Hi,
My name is Mark Aaron Johnson, I'm 18 years old, I live in Virginia, and I, along with 6 other members of my family, would like for marijuana to be legalized. I am not alone.
Here, have some graphs.

http://stash.norml.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/ ... - blackturtleus, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3How can any kind of meaningful democratic process actually exist without the means to communicate ideas that could possibly be threatening to those in power?
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3True freedom is a long way off in human society, but what's wrong with working towards it?
- deathfix, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3When's the last time you saw a cigarette commercial on American television?
- lukedamonkey, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3aadyss:
the joke is, the food network would endorse it because when you smoke marijuana you get hungry, therefore wanting food, and watching the food channel. that's the joke. - Rodex123, on 07/09/2009, -1/+4In other news people from YouTube are STILL HERE
- Majora26, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2govt should have designated Bar transport vehicles that carry ppl to and from the bars at night
- yacks, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2*cough* *cough* Tylenol *cough* *cough*
- ohreilly, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3If the TV stations are owned and operated by private companies, I don't see what the problem is with picking and choosing who you want to show on your station, that you own and operate.
- vinod1978, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2"the media wont push the limit and piss off its listeners. they have a pretty good idea of what will fly with the public at large."
It's not the public at large that they are worried about - they think they will loose other advertisers. - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3I watch television and I purchase their *****. I AM their demographic.
- Sanderson9009, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2your logic is flawless
