- strafefire, on 01/31/2008, -9/+233IF Clinton were to Win the Democratic Nomination and McCain were to win the Republican Nomination, I think it'd be about time to head to Canada. Our election would truly be an EPIC FAIL!
- thethinktank, on 01/31/2008, -7/+172I'm not a praying man, but I almost lament not having a faith so that I could pray for Obama on Tuesday...
- whorse, on 01/31/2008, -7/+125whats with the 27% lead among hispanics? Obama's the one who said "If you know how to drive you should be able to get a driver's liscence" (meaning illegal immigrants too)... are they all just going by name recognition? Hillary =/= Bill, just like George W. Bush =/= George H.W. Bush
- Lokishot, on 01/31/2008, -2/+85I'm not a praying man, but If your up there, help us Spider-Man.
- ZenMojo, on 01/31/2008, -1/+80Wait, wasn't Clinton ahead by 20 points less than a week ago?
- wild, on 01/31/2008, -4/+79Guys, remember, Obama had a 10 point lead in the polls going into New Hampshire.
Temper your expectations. The only numbers that matter are the ones AFTER the polls close. - Rabite, on 01/31/2008, -5/+71eh, it's a phone survey. Take it with a grain of salt.
- RansomHoldiay, on 01/31/2008, -1/+55mccain could beat clinton in a general. conservatives generally feel resentment towards mccain, but they loathe clinton.
- AJanitor, on 01/31/2008, -1/+53I used to vote Republican. I still would given the right candidate. However, with the current pickings I'm rooting for Obama. I may not agree with everything he says, but I can respect him. That's more than I can say for most of the other candidates on both sides.
- theuniversal, on 01/31/2008, -7/+56100% name recognition. The longer this campaign goes on, the better for Obama. The more you know him, the more most people like him. With Hillary, it's the opposite - the more we see her and Bill, the more most people realize that they just don't want to go back to the 90s. Electing Hillary and Bill is like choosing to press the pause button on history for 4 or 8 years.

- Shiftgood, on 01/31/2008, -1/+48Being from the bay.. i cant say ive seen any Hilary bumper stickers, but ive seen plenty of Obama.
but then again.. the Bay area is different from the rest of the state... *ahem* Arnold!? - AriaStar, on 01/31/2008, -5/+46Pray to the FSM.
- ZenMojo, on 01/31/2008, -3/+40Not all Hispanics (or most, necessarily) support giving illegal immigrants a free ride. But, yeah, mostly name recognition.
- blackbeardtron, on 01/31/2008, -1/+38There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?
- thegsa, on 01/31/2008, -1/+33it's not like the nineties were that bad. Still, I would rather see Obama win rather than Hillary, she gives me the creeps.
- Kschreck, on 01/31/2008, -8/+37Come on Diggers, lets put Obama in the White House. ;)
- johnhummel, on 01/31/2008, -3/+30Might be a racial stereotype, but it's wrong. I lived in CA, and I never had a problem with any of my hispanic buddies or black buddies or white buddies hating each other at all. Yeah, there are pockets of uneducated ***** in all three groups - but then again, those are usually the bastards who's vote you're not worried about getting anyway.
- aliengoods, on 01/31/2008, -0/+27It's a real poll, which this primary season is only marginally better than someone guessing.
- newfoundnoise82, on 01/31/2008, -2/+26I live in the state and I am telling all I know, give the man a chance, vote for him on Tuesday and you won't be disappointed. I am dying to vote for this man, and I can not bring myself to vote for Hillary. This country needs Obama.
- ZennZero, on 01/31/2008, -0/+23I'm not sure how much stock you can put in these polls anymore. They seem to be increasingly unreliable -- maybe the polling methodology isn't reaching a representative portion of the voting population. Obama and Clintion where supposedly within a few points of each other in SC, and it ended up a double digit blowout in Obama's favor. He more than doubled her votes -- this isn't exactly a statistically acceptable margin of error.
- RansomHoldiay, on 01/31/2008, -3/+26her support is wide and shallow. many still see her as inevitable. but the O-Train is coming.
- jefmes, on 01/31/2008, -2/+25Apologies to my Hispanic Californian brethren, but you need to get your communities on the ball and realize that Hilliary isn't going to do CRAP for you. Obama is the only candidate left who seems determined to focus on all levels of the American community, giving everyone the respect and intelligence we all deserve.
Voting for Hillary is deciding that you'd rather have the same people running our government who have been doing so for the last 20 years. Is that what you really want? More of essentially the same, with the same faces, the same advisers, the same policies?
I've never been politically active at any other time in my life, but Obama has motivated me take a stand this time, and not just vote for the lesser of all the evils, but FOR someone because I believe they're going to bring something different to the leadership of this country.
Vote for Obama on Tuesday, make the rest of your fellow Californians proud! - BadFast, on 01/31/2008, -4/+26Barack Obama is the most most exciting politician that I've ever seen, and I sure hope he becomes the next president.
- Shorties, on 01/31/2008, -4/+25I feel bad that I registered republican to vote for Ron Paul now, I just hope Obama still wins California so I don't regret it.
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2017... 2 days ago.
- allatti2d, on 01/31/2008, -0/+20johnhummel is right. The only black vs. hispanic problems here are with gangs, who need to be locked up anyway.
- swizzcheez, on 01/31/2008, -0/+19As Carlin says, pray to Joe Pesci. Now there's a guy who can get things done.
- DeviantDragon, on 01/31/2008, -1/+19California may be a retirement state, but it's not it's typifying characteristic like say, Florida. California is also the place of youth and tech which are really should sway towards Obama.
- BigManOnCampus, on 01/31/2008, -8/+26Hispanics in California don't like Blacks.
Sorry to bring up racial stereotypes, but it's true. Most racial strife in California these days is between hispanics and blacks. - AtHomeBoy2000, on 01/31/2008, -0/+18Yes. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/presi ...
17 point lead on the 27th.... 2 days later: 3point lead - rstarr, on 01/31/2008, -0/+17Everybody gets one.
- mrASSMAN, on 01/31/2008, -1/+18I'd also announce that I'm moving to Canada like you.. and then never get around to it. Then I'd wait 4 long years for the next election to lose hope and then not move to Canada yet again.
- Lokishot, on 01/31/2008, -1/+17aw crap.
You're* - sonar1, on 01/31/2008, -2/+18"She can pull it out at all."
PULL IT OUT CLINTON!! - mortinmaxwell, on 01/31/2008, -2/+17RAmen.
- tboutcher, on 01/31/2008, -2/+17Is this a real poll or someone guessing where the Edwards supporters go? No, really I'm asking.
- schoolisdeath, on 01/31/2008, -1/+16I feel the same way, but about Hillary
- Depthfunction, on 01/31/2008, -3/+18I'm sure Digg can make it happen. Just at look at how Digg has helped guarantee Ron Paul the republican nomination.
Oh wait . . . - nathos, on 01/31/2008, -0/+14Even better, if you're a registered Democrat in a Super Tuesday state, go out and vote!
- allatti2d, on 01/31/2008, -1/+15Note: GANGS. Not regular people who have enough brains to not join a gang. Most gang-bangers don't vote anyway.
- dbizzell, on 01/31/2008, -2/+15Wanna play Halo after work?
- lkeg56demn, on 01/31/2008, -1/+14One thing to be wary of:
Over on redstate.com, one of the larger conservative blogs, they're pushing for California republicans to go and vote for her rather than in the republican primary so she will receive the nomination. Basically, it's retribution for a strategy that dailykos employed in Michigan, where they called for dems to go vote for Romney because he'd be an easier candidate. - Tiak, on 01/31/2008, -0/+13Actually, Edwards was still in the race when this poll was taken. He was polling at 9%.
- AngelBunny, on 01/31/2008, -0/+12lol I hate to break it to you but california is NOT a retirement state. Most people that live here either were born in the area or lived far away and moved when they got usually a tech job. Because california is so expensive most people who retire in this state move to arizona or sometimes nevada. the only real big retirement area in california is 3 to 4 hours east of LA with tons of people living in trailers on welfare.
- erkokite, on 01/31/2008, -2/+14You're a Ron Paul supporter, but would support Clinton over Obama? Do you even know what any of them stand for?
- Taciturn, on 01/31/2008, -0/+12"Member of the CFR (Stated mission to erode US sovereignty)" Citation please?
"Supported by main stream media, who never support anyone they don’t own (RP)" Main stream media was, up until the first primary, presenting Hillary as inevitable. After Obama's Iowa win they had no choice but to tone down the rhetoric. Plus, it's hard to ignore the candidate polling at #2. (Incidentally, the single example of Ron Paul is not sufficient to prove your claim that they "never support anyone...")
"Indorsed be so many establishment good old boys (Zbigniew Brzezinski)." Even if we accept your premise that Brzezinski represents the establishment, it still says very little about Obama himself. Chuck Norris represents kicking all kinds of ass but I don't see Huckabee whooping anyone. And again, a single example doesn't demonstrate "so many" establishment endorsements.
"No policies/solutions toward the US economy tanking, just feel good speeches." The Washington Post ranked his economic stimulus plan at an A minus (the only grade above a B minus given). Whether you trust Ruth Marcus' analysis is up to you; my training isn't in economics so I can't really comment on it (and she didn't rank Paul, but then again, the idea of a federal stimulus package would be anathema to him). - mandarin, on 01/31/2008, -1/+12One word: WALMART!
- FutureGuy, on 01/31/2008, -1/+12Not sure if Obama gains are enough, I have a bad feeling for Tuesday. I wish one of the other Dem leaders like Al Gore or even John Edwards endorse him to bridge the gap, but they all seem to be afraid of Billary, can't blame them.
- petebert, on 01/31/2008, -3/+14polls mean nothing, the polls reported on NPR news had Obama losing SC big time.
