- agent0064life, on 03/01/2009, -6/+134The more support, the better.
- inactive, on 03/01/2009, -7/+130Yesterday I was watching CNN and couldn't believe he has his own show. CNN, seriously? I thought for a moment I was watching MTV.
- Crazysticks, on 03/01/2009, -24/+117He should have taken it more seriously, instead of turing it into a comedy minute.
- snogye, on 03/01/2009, -2/+88But he's a comedian...
- orion846, on 03/01/2009, -2/+73am i the only one who never thought he'd hear "CNN's D.L. Hughley" ?
- NYConcepts, on 03/01/2009, -11/+77I don't know why he still has a show on CNN, because he's not funny at all.
- xxAMPLIFYxx, on 03/01/2009, -2/+44Same. It's like TV news networks aren't even trying to hide the fact that they are entertainment networks disguised as news anymore.
- TrevorBelmont, on 03/01/2009, -6/+43Allegedly.
- mikemx7f, on 03/01/2009, -5/+41Stoners aren't the only ones who are going to bury you.
- peestandingup, on 03/01/2009, -3/+37So if I smoke on occasion I'm a "stoner"? Does that also mean if I have a beer with my dinner I'm a "drunk" too?? Piss off.
I love how people who drink & smoke cigs look down their judgmental noses at those who prefer to smoke weed. Even though what they do is far FAR worse & kills tens of thousands a year + destroys lives in many other ways. - Rustymetal, on 03/01/2009, -2/+30Cannabis has only been illegal for 50-80 years. Back in 1800s, Civil war, WWI, Hemp and cannabis was REQUIRED of any farmers. Especially in the 1800s. Hemp was even accepted by the government as currency it was so desperately needed. If you owned more then 1000'd aches on a plantation, it was illegal to NOT have cannabis growing.
You want to talk about cannabis and economy, cannabis WAS the ***** economy back when it was the #1 source of paper, fuel, fiber, ect. - Dweller99, on 03/01/2009, -1/+26If they let the gays marry then pedophiles will be raping puppys in the streets!
I can give you 10 reasons why Meth needs to be illegal. Can you give me 5 why Marijuana should be illegal? 3? 1? - c010rb1indusa, on 03/01/2009, -4/+28But you can joke about it and be informative at the same time i.e George Carlin, Bill Maher, Lewis Black etc
- chewbakalol, on 03/01/2009, -10/+30I think he wants the views more than he wants marijuana legalized.
Oh well, attention is attention. - deathfix, on 03/01/2009, -3/+21Hey, the more support the better; even if it's coming from one of CNN's ***** television hosts.
- inactive, on 03/02/2009, -4/+17Dug for "legalize marijuana" not for D.L. Hughley.
- wakeupsticky, on 03/01/2009, -1/+14I love the people who smoke weed and look down their judgemental noses at me when I'm smoking cigarettes.
I'm not disagreeing with you at all, by the way. I understand cigarettes are dangerous. I'm just tired of nitpicking of "what's okay" and "what's not." We all have our vices, so why can't we all just leave each other alone? - Zap2, on 03/01/2009, -5/+18Never smoked in my life...but you're still getting my bury!
- WaffleJesus, on 03/01/2009, -11/+23I prefer frosted flakes.
- inactive, on 03/02/2009, -0/+12He's got a show. You've got -23 diggs (and counting). I'd say he's got you beat there, junior.
- chkdg8, on 03/01/2009, -1/+13You're right but when you think about it, you go outside of the major cities and California voters are very conservative. Look at what happened to Prop 8. I agree that the more exposure the better but it's commentary like this that sometimes hurts and not helps the fight for legalization.
- misreto, on 03/01/2009, -2/+13They should legalize it and get the majority of the people in there jails out of there for marijuana charges. This makes so much sense and it pisses me off that Marijuana became illegal in the first place.
- twiztidsinz, on 03/01/2009, -4/+14Let me bring it down to your level and put it into words you can understand...
"no u". - TrevorBelmont, on 03/01/2009, -2/+11"Sure women should be allowed to vote but I'm just tired of hearing about it all the time! Can't these ladies quiet down?"
- A guy like you in 1919 - briantenn76, on 03/02/2009, -2/+11Ad I want to see on TV.
Start a new day with "Marijuana" from Bristol-Meyer-Squib.
"Marijuana" is not for everyone, children should not take "Marijuana"
In clinical studies, side-effects with "Marijuana" were generally mild and include goofiness, hungriness, and sometimes forgetting what you were saying halfway through your sentence. "Marijuana" has been proven to be effective at treating stress, depression, alcoholism, glaucoma, apatite-loss from Chemotherapy, anger-management and just being an ***** in general.
"Ask your doctor if "Marijuana" is right for you. - twiztidsinz, on 03/01/2009, -4/+12Dont smoke pot or cigs and I'm burying you.
Is your mind blown? - mphazon, on 03/01/2009, -2/+10That's because marijuana isn't bad for you.
- agent0064life, on 03/02/2009, -1/+9By legalizing marijuana, the money wouldn't go in the hands of violent drug cartels. Instead, there would be legitimate businesses would be set up and the product would be regulated.
- rda1441, on 03/01/2009, -2/+10Who?
- ziromix, on 03/02/2009, -2/+10I love the way you said that. like people will actually think " holy *****. someone's had enough of this and told us to stop with firm punctuation. This ***** is serious we should just stop posting threads about legalising Marijuana!"
the short answer is "no". - inactive, on 03/01/2009, -0/+7Right which is why iTunes sells billions of songs a year when someone could easily just get the song for free but would have to "break the law" to do it
- impseth, on 03/01/2009, -0/+6uh.....beer? wine? vodka? Any of this ringing a bell?
- crit1caL, on 03/02/2009, -2/+9Ever had a drink? Ever contributed in exposing someone to second-hand smoke?
Even if you haven't, "chemically altered" is the wrong thing to say in this case, as someone can be chemically altered just by being depressed or full of anxiety... To loosely quote Ethan Nadelmann, "Would you want a doctor who's a smoker and hasn't had a cigarette in a few days performing surgery on you?" My point being that regular cannabis users are not in a different or dangerous state to you or your family, but regular users of alcohol, SSRIs, and other legal substances are of significant danger to your family. Whether it's a drunk driver or somebody who has stopped taking their anti-depressants, you're just wrong.
Stop getting your news from robots and sheep. - cj485, on 03/01/2009, -3/+10changes are coming...
about time! - CurlyFoot, on 03/01/2009, -5/+12Legalize it!
- mphazon, on 03/02/2009, -0/+6What an awful source to cite.
This was on the page you just linked to:
"The definitive study of the long-term health effects of marijuana to date was done by Kaiser Permanente. They surveyed the health records of 65,000 patients over a long period of time. They found no significant differences in the health records of pot smokers versus people who did not smoke pot. See http://www.druglibrary.org/crl/aging/sidney-01.htm ... " - slayermet420, on 03/02/2009, -0/+6Seems to me that legalizing marijuana is becoming Digg's new pet project. Who woulda thought that a bunch of nerds would love pot so much?
- wigren, on 03/01/2009, -4/+10Why do you think that marijuana should remain illegal?
- Asheis, on 03/01/2009, -0/+6I can't figure out if you're trolling or not, but by your same logic, shouldn't alcohol, cigarettes, and caffeine also be included?
- MofugginPaulrus, on 03/01/2009, -1/+7Furthermore, it's not an issue of how bad it is. Why are people so hung up on drugs being illegal because they're "bad for you"? Alcohol is bad for you, tobacco is bad for you, sitting on Digg all day instead of being active is bad for you, but they're legal. In reality, the danger of a drug has nothing to do with its legality. Like always, it's just politics. Drop the health claims; they're irrelevant either way.
- Foenetik, on 03/01/2009, -7/+13he certainly brought up some inspired and thought provoking points on the subject...
- RepublicofJosh, on 03/01/2009, -0/+6akchrs.
I'd like to read it. - RepublicofJosh, on 03/01/2009, -0/+4Poor choice of words.
Oh and if you think you have the right to tell me what I can put into my body then I don't think you should be able to drink any more alcohol... or coffee... or take another aspirin... or smoke a cigarette. - HanSolo69, on 03/02/2009, -2/+7If you're in favor of legaliation then you only hurt yourself by accepting the support of D.L. Hughley.
- l0rdishtar, on 03/01/2009, -1/+6Meth is already legal (Schedule II not I like cannabis) and can be prescribed by any doctor in all 50 states and filled at any wallgreens (the medication name is Desoxyn or D-MethylAmphetamine) so your argument is completely void
- RaulMuadDib, on 03/02/2009, -1/+6If we have marijuana legalized, then he will be funny.
- mrisi, on 03/02/2009, -0/+5As a smoker, I would pay $5-10 more per gram than street value if it meant I could walk into a store and purchase consistent-quality weed and not feel like a criminal about it. Worth it.
- inactive, on 03/02/2009, -0/+5well you were cool about it so I would agree and say that iTunes nonetheless had to find a "sweet spot" of 99 c. to bring folks on board
- MFoody, on 03/02/2009, -0/+5If it's bad for you that's a reason not to do it. It's not a reason to be illegal. Skiing is dangerous. It is illegal. I don't play tackle football because I don't want to get hurt. Something having negative consequences is not a good reason to be illegal.
- inactive, on 03/02/2009, -2/+7speaking proper english and displaying a proper case is out of the question for this guy apparently.
