- insomniac8400, on 10/10/2007, -75/+420Ron Paul will be president. He is the only candidate currently with support in all states. The smaller straw polls back that. Of course they were only small because the other candidates didn't buy votes to push the vote count into the thousands. But Romney had 373 in Illinois. Paul had over 200 in two polls where the other candidates couldn't even reach 75 votes combined. The constitution is popular, and since Paul is the only candidate supporting the constitution, he is the only one to gain from the popularity of the constitution.
- tgunner, on 10/10/2007, -43/+380The Democrat girl is a bit of a bitch. Especially if she thinks Hilary (being one of the Democrats) will make a good prez.
- johndoenumber2, on 10/10/2007, -19/+273People are shocked that Ron Paul is picked above the supposed top tier. They must be not caring if they are a free people.
- WhyMe, on 10/10/2007, -10/+249I think the more interesting story here was how the Democrat girl would not even answer a simple question.
- corevette, on 10/10/2007, -11/+242Yeah, the democrat girl didn't seem to know much about any of the candidates, but rather the issues
And if I were the republican girl, I would have...interrupted....the democrat girl when she was talking about how all the republican candidates were for the war and mentioned RP in there - ochants76, on 10/10/2007, -10/+236the democrat girl sucked...
- ochants76, on 10/10/2007, -19/+237Lets face it the democrat girl is stupid.
- ruyn, on 10/10/2007, -10/+195I love the fact that they just totally blow off the Republican Girl, making her sound like she has nothing credible to say because she supports Ron Paul. Everyone is trying to avoid the fact that he is solid pick for the GOP.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -9/+167I wish the young woman from Texas would have said that her "#1 issue" would be ending the war, which only Ron Paul, and two of the democrats, have said they would do right away. It would have been funny to hear that right after the democrat had erroneously said that all Republicans want to stay in, and that they're all the same.
I can't wait for Ron Paul, with his track record of honesty & integrity, to be running against Hillary Clinton. Rep. Ron Paul having voted against the war, and Dem. Hillary having voted for it. - smoothmedia, on 10/10/2007, -6/+134That Democrat girl annoyed me to no end, and I'm a liberal. It's sad to see the political non-speak trickling into today's youth. ANSWER THE QUESTIONS
- Toloran, on 10/10/2007, -8/+118Unfortunately, she is not unusual:
A lot of the politically minded young people I talk to tend to think the same way she did. Bush is a republican and therefor republicans are bad and any democrat is better then a republican. It doesn't matter what their policies are so long as they are not republican because, face it repubs, your whole party is getting a bad rep because of bush and his posse.
Hilary won't make a good president because not only does she only say whatever she thinks will get her the most votes (which is perfectly understandable and all too common) but also because she doesn't bother hiding the fact that she is that way. Obama seems the same way to me but less so.
Remember everyone: Don't vote for someone JUST because of their skin/gender, either for or against. Vote for their policies. Yes, hillary being the first female president or Obama being the first non-Caucasian president will be a landmark in our country's history but if they end up being just as bad as Bush then what kind of precedent does that set? - p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -22/+127Thankfully?
Ignorance like that is what kills me. He is against regulation of the internet, and for the freedom of speech, which you personally should be interested in, seeing as you are on the internet, using your freedom of speech. And yeah people will still be able to read your comments. I'd rather it that way, so by the time you have -30 diggs, someone can say "Wow I wonder what this idiot said" and see for themselves. - dhVyse, on 10/10/2007, -17/+120"Let's face it" isn't a sound arguement, ever. Ron Paul 08.
- Eldorian, on 10/10/2007, -7/+97I'm more than likely voting democrat in the next election (depending on who is running of course).
But for that girl to say "I'm voting for democrat because anyone is better than Bush"... just irritates me. Is Bush running in the 2008 election?
Why don't you look at the issues and see who's running instead of making asinine remarks like that? It's that kind of attitude that leans me for voting for the other guy and the reason I think Kerry ended up losing the last election. Wake up America, please. - sgglynn, on 10/10/2007, -5/+86The girl is a bitch, any EVERYTHING shows everything wrong with voters. "Lets put things aside and vote for any democrat" Sorry, but that's not what politics is about, if you vote with that mindset, you'll realize how horridly EVERY party is ***** the US right now. It's about candidates, not parties, when you take that mindset, you prove how little you know about politics.
- beta1, on 10/10/2007, -5/+84That Dem was unreal. "So you do look at who the person is?", "No, I didn't say that". hahaha, classic.
- TeatimeGrommit, on 10/10/2007, -5/+83She just didn't look good next to the young Republican. Any partisan hack is going to look bad up next to a thinking member of the opposing party.
- faultytext, on 10/10/2007, -4/+78Did anyone fail to notice how big of a b*tch that democrat was being? I consider myself a firm democrat, but she was just ridiculous. She seemed to be saying, "Well, President Bush sucks so ALL Republicans suck!" There's always someone in any group who is capable of giving that group a bad name.
- dmcbride6, on 10/10/2007, -9/+81I love Ron Paul :)
I was more shocked by the second girl. - garryw, on 10/10/2007, -30/+101This may push Ron Paul from 1% to 2% nationally. Party on!
- dailyshowboy23, on 10/10/2007, -3/+73At least Ron Paul stands up for the common man. If he's elected president, America will finally be respected by our allies and we will once again be the country that is envied worldwide.
- ppete, on 10/10/2007, -4/+66terrible hosts...
- LordSlashstab55, on 10/10/2007, -1/+57I smell career politician in the making
- minoss, on 10/10/2007, -2/+58I would expect more than that pile of crap from the democrat chick. Whatever happened to thinking for yourself instead of blindly allying yourself with a party?
- commernie, on 10/10/2007, -24/+78Oh dear, another person who actually thinks that people choose the president. I have news for you, MONEY chooses the president. Or rather, MONEY chooses the two candidates who best serves it, and then the people (if you can call the few people who actually vote that) "choose" between two virtually indistinguishable people. If Ron Paul really is different (I don't think so, but many people seem to), then there is no chance in hell he'll be president. Sorry, dude =(.
- DollaDollaBill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+54All ron Paul stuff aside. Its really scary how the media spreads its influence blatantly laughing off the opinion of one american. They should respect her and tell the ***** news, not spread more agendas. Unfortunately, spreading their influence is the whole reason for being on TV in the first place. just scary how powerful it is sometimes.
- JaybeasCorpus, on 10/10/2007, -3/+56I doubt it was THAT shocking to CNN...after all, they did have some Ron Paul B-roll ready to go the second she said "Ron Paul" on live TV.
- whoaohh, on 10/10/2007, -10/+59"Ron Paul fixers"?
Are you still too dumb to realize that he is the most supported candidate on the internet and there is actually real life support and not just "spammers"? - NSMike, on 10/10/2007, -5/+53And to top it all off, the Republican woman came off as more informed and intelligent. The democrat came off as saying nothing more than, "Come on, our candidates are better than Bush. THAT's why you should elect a democrat." Stupid. *Goes to register as a Republican*
- bobcrotch, on 10/10/2007, -4/+51Well the Democrat girl just sort of played into the typical left wing stereotype.
- CajunGuitarist, on 10/10/2007, -14/+58Ron Paul should be the next President. Pure and simple.
- Smight, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40Man, It sounded like that guy just about fell out of his chair and had a heartattack when he heard her say Ron Paul.
I don't understand why "American Morning" cares who the republican nominee is unless they think anyone but Ron Pual will be an easy win for the Democrat Nominee.
I thought it was funny how that girl from Lebanon Valley didn't want to be classified as someone who might possibly consider who the candidate was aside from having a D next to their name. "I DID NOT SAY THAT, SIR!" - CDoug03, on 10/10/2007, -9/+474 out of 5 dentists choose Ron Paul to be the Republican candidate.
- rlbigfish, on 11/14/2007, -10/+44Yes, it's a tough decision to have to make. But Net Neutrality IS Government regulation of the Internet. And since he tries to stick to the constitution, he made the "no government intervention" choice. Besides, you don't have to agree with him on EVERY topic to know that he's better for the US than Rudy "The Fascist" Giuliani and Mitt "Double Guantanamo" Romney.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -12/+46Keep complaining how much America sucks, how terrible the war is, how stupid Americans are becoming, etc. Then come here and make a comment and oppose Ron Paul?! That's the definition of hypocrisy.
Don't criticize the USA and encourage change if you're not going to support Ron Paul. It makes no sense, sorry. - NSResponder, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34The DNC didn't want to nominate Truman, McGovern, or Carter. The RNC didn't want to nominate Reagan. Sometimes, the voters can override the party apparatchiks.
-jcr - imgstacke, on 10/10/2007, -4/+37And that explains why Ron Paul appeals to so many, even when contrasted to other candidates from his own party. They are all Hacks in comparison.
- breich, on 10/10/2007, -3/+36I was shocked by how the democrat represented my state of Pennsylvania. I'm a bit embarrassed :)
- huaone, on 10/10/2007, -10/+42"I'm sorry, what?"
- TeatimeGrommit, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32Yes, the young Republican showed remarkable restraint, since RP's big talking point is how he's he only non-war pro-civil rights Republican in the field. Perhaps too much restraint, since Dr. Paul's chances of winning hinge on getting the message of how he's different out there.
- thecoolestguy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33Ron Paul will stick to his campaign promises. He has a 30 year voting record to show that he sticks by his principles of Constitutional government and a limited federal government. Case in point, he was against a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriages, because he thinks States should reserve the right to choose on the matter, as the Constitution and Founding Fathers intended.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+36what points of his policy do you disagree with?
or are you just going to say he's "crazy" so you don't have to actually argue the issues - i.e. "democracy" - wormhole, on 10/10/2007, -6/+35I logged in just to digg this. Awesome video!
- NSResponder, on 10/10/2007, -3/+32She doesn't seem to realize that Bush isn't running this time.
-jcr - Morphinity, on 10/10/2007, -4/+32I saw a sign in my town today supporting Ron Paul, and I didn't even put it up! :D
- techmaster, on 10/10/2007, -2/+30I can't stand Hillary OR Obama, but if I had to choose the lesser of two evils, I would rather see Obama be president. Either way, Ron Paul beats them both.
- Dudeee, on 10/10/2007, -8/+35Yes we are all just one person in ron pauls moms basement, There just one thing I don't get about that, how to these spammers in their basement expect to win if they are cheating on the polls, how would that help Ron Paul win? I'm pretty sure it first started with a group of supporters, spreading the word on the internet, but every campaign has this. Ron Paul has a lot of active supporters coming out of every end of the political spectrum, his presence is bigger because he doesn't just attract republicans. Can't you just face the facts and see his actually presence is what online shows, and what the "old media" is saying is complete bs every time someone mentions ron paul on the news they have to mention like "very low in the polls" "not going to win" . I don't think the internet accurately shows his support, but I'm sure it isn't as low as what the media shows.
- raisputin3, on 10/10/2007, -2/+29Sadly, though I will be voting for Ron Paul, I somewhat agree that money chooses the president. I think even more than that though, MEDIA chooses the president by giving massive coverage of whom they want in office to he exclusion of others. THough I have said this, I WILL vote for Ron Paul, and I hope every one else does as well. What would be funny as hell is if he doesn't get on the Ballot and then everyone writes him in and he wins anyway :)
I think that the media should be required to give equal time to each candidate, plain and simple. - fanclerks, on 10/10/2007, -7/+33I was sad to see the Democrat chick up against the Republican one. She just sounded dumb. Although I want to say that I agree that any Democrat would be better than Bush, most of them are more of the same, and her saying that just made her look stupid. She couldn't even answer the question sadly enough. If that's what the majority of young Democrats out there are like, we're in for a sad ride. :(
- reaganluver, on 10/10/2007, -3/+28This was great...... I think they asked her to provide another pick because they didn't even know anything about Ron Paul. I understand how unfair it is to the media to have someone on who doesn't fit their whole left right, rumble in the jungle, slugfest, sporting event style campaign. They should have made her pick between the candidates on a list provided. That's what it's all about; picking between the cadidates they cover.
