- andrewtna, on 04/07/2008, -9/+199I rechecked the CNN site and they do have the caucus results on the TX primary section... it's right under primary results and is accurate... As much as I'd like to believe CNN is Clinton News Network, this story doesn't help prove it.
- Bacontastic, on 04/07/2008, -35/+225And people continue to bash Fox as if it's the only biased news source...
- McReynolds, on 04/07/2008, -5/+77What is all this brouhaha about? If you are going to go ahead and type an email, you should at least have the energy to use the scroll bar.
- snafuhalitosis, on 04/07/2008, -2/+61Try scrolling down a little next time
- theaceoffire, on 04/07/2008, -15/+65Fox is just so arrogant. I mean, they MOCK you.
"Fair and Balanced".
Go to Hell Fox News. - baronsmeg, on 04/07/2008, -0/+35OK, wow some one needs to learn how to scroll down. I've been checking the CNN politics page for some time, and this is the way they have always shown Texas. There is no conspiracy here.
- lnxfi, on 04/07/2008, -4/+38Click link - look down - move along, nothing to see here.
- PATSCRU, on 04/07/2008, -10/+38Oh, you wiley Ron Paul fans, always a source of lulz.
- ZebZ, on 04/07/2008, -3/+31CNN isn't saying Hillary won Texas.
It's saying that she won the Texas Primary (which she did), but right underneath it, it says Obama won the Texas Caucuses (which he did). They just chose not to combine the two. - ajb2015, on 04/07/2008, -2/+28this is inaccurate - they just show the caucus and primary separately. scroll down to see the caucus results. it shows obama as the winner.
- fulibs, on 04/07/2008, -3/+26Burried, caucus information IS posted.
HINT: Use the scroll bar on the right side of the screen, you can go up AND down with it and see the whole page!! - chris9902, on 04/07/2008, -2/+24I studied communism has part of my History course. What's your point?
- letdowntourist, on 04/07/2008, -2/+22Even NPR reported on Clinton's "win" in Texas in passing during a story about Mark Penn resigning this morning.
As a Texan, I had to pound on my steering wheel in frustration. - kz13, on 04/07/2008, -1/+20That would be the primary section. Directly underneath it is the caucus section, in which Obama is the projected winner. Granted that this page has not been updated in a month, but really, they're now saying that we won't know the exact count until the state convention in June.
- rblancarte, on 04/07/2008, -0/+17Realize this also (as i live here in Texas), we have a 3 stage process in determining delegates: (which can all be read here - http://www.burntorangereport.com/showDiary.do?diar ...
The Main points
1. Precincts hold their caucuses - elect their delegates to county conventions (Mar 4)
2. Counties hold their caucuses - elect their delegates to the state convention (Mar 29)
3. State holds convention - elects their delegates to the national convention (Jun 6-7)
Only after #3 should the results be considered official - because at that point will the 67 (42/25) be truly allocated between the candidates.
And since attendance is important, it is possible either could lose delegates in this process. Say a precinct went to Obama 60-40 (over 100 delegates), but then all 40 of Clinton's supporters go to the county convention, while only 20 Obama supporters go, then you see some drift of delegates to Obama.
Granted, I think things will hold, but until Jun 7, Obama's victory won't be official. - u2wedge, on 04/07/2008, -2/+19still only showing 41% reporting, though, right?
- inactive, on 04/07/2008, -2/+17I'm sick of these ***** snakes on this ***** election!
- gadlaw, on 04/07/2008, -11/+25Buried as inaccurate. Try to learn how to use the internet please. I wish there was a way to bury it as inaccurate, lame and another button for political bullcrap.
- inactive, on 04/07/2008, -7/+20Only difference with Fox is that they suck at it.
- notoneofus, on 04/07/2008, -6/+18Not the only, just the most.
- toxicityj, on 04/07/2008, -1/+13don't group that idiot with me. I like RP, but I'm not about to make ***** up about people and pretend Paul is some Jesus figure.
- diggit08, on 04/07/2008, -4/+16How the hell did this hit the frontpage?
- WNW3, on 04/07/2008, -1/+12Boa constrictors or the feathered variety?
- AmaDaden, on 04/07/2008, -3/+13I keep hearing this CFR crap from people. Can you give a source for your ramblings that can be trusted? Or would you like to sit in the corner with your tin-foil hat and tell us all how doomed we are if RP doesn't make it in to office?
- jayhawk, on 04/07/2008, -0/+9we're all looking at the link provided in the original Digg submission (above). 41% is what it reveals.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 04/07/2008, -4/+13Fox News is also still saying that Hillary won Texas. They don't mention it often, since it was a while ago now, but whenever they get into a delegate debate and discuss past primaries, they always mention Hillary's big "Texas and Ohio victories".
- jtrost, on 04/08/2008, -0/+9http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results ...
This clearly shows that Obama won the caucus. I don't see how they're misrepresenting the facts. - SaumZ, on 04/07/2008, -1/+10Courses in socialism and communism are normal for people that are going to school for political science or history. Wow are you ignorant.
- tricks574, on 04/07/2008, -0/+7Scroll bar is on the right.
- richardtallent, on 04/07/2008, -0/+7Yup, me too, and I contacted them about it. We have a weird system in Texas, but it doesn't mean we should allow lazy reporting.
- marmanukem, on 04/07/2008, -2/+9Hehe, I have made that same challenge every time they assert he is a member of the CFR, and never has any of them posted a response.
- GoneGreen, on 04/07/2008, -3/+9Went to Disneyland got sick, so I stayed in my room hotel room for 3 days and the only news offering was CNN - CNN Headline... I can now say with complete honesty that CNN has a vested interest in Hillary Clinton. Someone commented that CNN stood for the "Clinton News Network" and I agree.
- junkwheel, on 04/07/2008, -6/+12"We report, you decide."
Fox should be reported for false advertising.
"We decide, you get brainwashed."
CNN is dead to me. - ebrandsberg, on 04/07/2008, -2/+8To clarify for people--the poster is commenting that Obama is projected to win the Caucus, NOT that they arn't posting the data. Since the Caucus results are now certified, his point is that it should be changed to account for this fact, instead of posting that it is still a projection. HOWEVER... this isn't the case. It IS still a projection, as the final Delegate count won't be available until June 7th or so, at the state convention. As such, CNN is doing the correct thing, and reporting a fact, although the chances that the numbers are going to change much if any is very small.
- chaosium, on 04/07/2008, -2/+8"CNN is dead to me."
Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck didn't seal it for you? - lolinyerface, on 04/07/2008, -0/+6Agreed, scroll down and stop QQing, people!
- Abomonog, on 04/07/2008, -0/+6But even being un-updated the page is still correct as to who won what.
- abuelos84, on 04/07/2008, -2/+7communism? just because he supports "some" social politics? That's not communism, buddy.
OTH, it'd be great if he were a "commie", though... - revjustin2, on 04/07/2008, -4/+9I am sooooooo tempted to drop a big ol' F-bomb right now.....must resist.....CaptainAmerica1 demands civility........can't....hold....on...much.....longer...........*snap*
*****
Whew. I feel so much better now. - earlycj5, on 04/07/2008, -1/+6I caught that too. Felt a bit let down by NPR on that one.
- Terr01, on 04/07/2008, -0/+5Which is of course exactly why viewers of FOX news were most likely to believe that Saddam caused 9/11, riiiiiight?
- inactive, on 04/07/2008, -2/+7This reads like the "MSM ignoring Ron Paul Straw Poll victory" stories of 9 months ago...
- inactive, on 04/07/2008, -7/+12Inaccurate. Buried.
How does this crap make it to the front page? - fuhcough, on 04/07/2008, -7/+12Um i know lotsa people that studied communism in college. Hell, my middle school history class spent a whole week on the Holocaust.
- revjustin2, on 04/07/2008, -0/+5Chicken.
- thebaron2, on 04/07/2008, -1/+5The point is that you can study a subject without approving of it. Studying communism doesn't make you a communist, just like studying the holocaust doesn't make you a Nazi.
- stanleyford, on 04/07/2008, -2/+6Yesterday I watched a movie. I did this despite knowing that there are people dying in Iraq, thousands of people in prisons, and starving children in the world. I don't expect to be faulted or considered frivolous just because I don't spend all my time focusing on world crises. I don't fault the media for behaving the same way, although I suppose there will always be dreary people like you who do.
- Jawoodyablowme, on 04/07/2008, -0/+4"ACLU courting Pedophiles"
That is a boldface lie. - demiurgency, on 04/07/2008, -2/+6I've been noticing this. Every few days since the Texas primary, I log into cnn.com/election/2008 to see if they've updated the caucus result, and they still show 41% reporting. I wasn't sure if they were refusing to update it, or if their IT staff had just dropped the ball.
- rblancarte, on 04/07/2008, -0/+4Last I saw they do have him projected as the caucus winner. And Hillary as the primary winner. Hence why this whole topic has the inaccurate flag.
