- zombiedepot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Good interview, he brought up a lot of good points. I hope he gets more media coverage in the future.

I really enjoy listening to Ron Paul speak.
Remember, your vote gives political power to the candidate even if they don't win the nomination.
Vote in your state's primary (if you have one).
_ - mindful, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Ron Paul is the only chance America has.
- AdmiralAdama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Alright, will the most capable of you explain the Rob Paul attraction please?
- Jrogan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7He is everything that the USA needs to get out of this mess.....That is why THEY will never allow him to be elected.
- DirtyD69, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5He brings up some issues that might have otherwise not been discussed. I believe he is on par with other candidates such as Hunter and Tancredo on immigration and border issues. On almost everything else he dwarfs them. He is suppose to be making a stop in Austin in the next two weeks.
- SgtSlappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually, I can help you out on that one Adama, I know quite a few Libertarians, and they just gush over Ron Paul. He's a former L party presidential candidate, and still supports many of the things that define Libertarianism, despite the fact that he has an "R" after his name.
Even though Wiki is usually considered crap, here's the page on him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Paul - jeanette3654, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dr. Paul already has my vote in '08
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3He is a MD instead of a lawyer, that is a good start. He voted against the Patriot Act in Congress(not many representatives did that). He voted against the Iraq War authorization that Kerry, Edwards, Hillary and MCcain all gllefully supported. He also issued several papers over teh last decade while he was an active cognressman advocating ideas that have proven to be pretty prophetic regarding foreign policy. He has also shown that he can use good common sense in the face of herdlike mentality urging him to j"ust shut up and do the wrong thing." Hillary, edwards, mccain and kerry all did as they were told, the fact that they are NOW criticizing the war means little sense it is obviously only in reaction to polling data, when it was unpopular to criticize the war they goose stepped right along with everyone else.
So he has better anti-war credentials than any other candidates running.
As an added bonus he seems very knowledgeable about economic history and theory, (evidenced by his many articles advocating free market principles). He has always voted for lower taxes and more free trade and a more humane drug-war policy than any of the other candidates. He has convinced me that he is a thoughtful intelligent studious person that has a strong principled philosophy that makes him unlikely to start government bondoggles jsut to benefit friends of the family who happen to get awarded big govt contracts. This is unique amongst any of the candidates I have read about. - PATSCRU, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4WIKI IS NOT CRAP
p.s. for once i agree with admiraladama....looks like the only thing that will unite conservatives and liberals is (quasi)libertarians...i'm quite open minded about him tho - uttles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Simply put Admiral, he's an *actual* conservative. I could go into detail about each issue and why I like his stance, but that would take forever, and the common theme is that he *actually* believes in the founding principles of this country and it shows in his voting record. Read up on him a little and you'll see what I mean.
- AdmiralAdama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3He seems like an old-style American.
- lordmetroid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Every reputable economist in the world has stated that returning to the gold standard would be an incredibly bad idea."
@Herkimer56, Not at all... Take a look into the Austrian econonomical school of thought!
Why I like him, well he never violates the constitution for one instance. Something everyone in Washington ought to not do. But he is alone. Scary thought! - JonGalt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2By (quasi) im assuming you mean (semi-kinda-still-socialist-becuase-we-still-need-to-rip-off-tax-payers-to-give-democrats-&-republicans-agendas-like-social security-welfare-&-global warming-ect-ect-to-make-thier-simple-job-seem-meaningful)

Ron Paul, who is so very knowledgeable about economic history and theory, supports returning to the gold standard. Every reputable economist in the world has stated that returning to the gold standard would be an incredibly bad idea. Maybe he supports it because he's so heavily invested in gold futures. - themanmachine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0i dont see why diggers are getting a hard-on for this guy... he's really old and wrinkly
- nukethewhales, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3These Ron Paul articles are starting to feel like spam.
- quomen, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Man if only Mr. Rogers was alive i'd vote Ron/Rogers '08.
RIP
