- an0nymous, on 03/04/2009, -69/+512Well sure. I absolutely think they've decided to pound on Limbaugh. Can you imagine an easier target? The guy is a thrice divorced druggie who makes fun of Parkinson's victims and kids. He's not fringe member: he was the keynote speaker at CPAC and every Republican who criticized him including the head of the RNC Michale Steele has been forced to drop to his knees and press their lips to Rush's enormous sweaty hams. He also made that statement about wanting Obama to fail at rescuing the country, which, well, doesn't sound so good. Think of it this way "the country is a kid in a burning house and Obama is trying to get him out and Rush is calling for him to fail because he doesn't like the type of ladder Obama's using."
Heck there's even talk that Steele will have to resign now!

Face it kids, Rush Limbaugh is the Republican Don. It's his party. - inactive, on 03/04/2009, -88/+478Rush is the leader of the GOP right now. He's fair game.
- AlextheK, on 03/04/2009, -45/+375Wow, the Republicans really have become a party in denial.
Half of the comments on this page are defenses of Rush. Rush isn't being attacked here. This is about how the Democrats conned the GOP into annointing a very unpopular talk-show host as their de facto leader. It's exactly what the GOP tried to do when it pushed the association of Reverend Wright with Obama.
And what is the response? "This is good for Republicans!"
Geez, guys, it's NOT good for Republicans. You've been suckered! - petebot, on 03/04/2009, -38/+361When did Digg get invaded by Far Right-wingers?
- agent89, on 03/04/2009, -44/+210Love watching crazy right wingers blow a collective gasket.
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -32/+186For those claiming this is a conspiracy - Did Steele not run to Limbaugh to offer him his testicles and beg for forgiveness?
- an0nymous, on 03/04/2009, -41/+189Well I don't agree with the guys methods, but as his goal is to save the US and the US is clearly in trouble, I wish him the best of luck.
God save the Union. - ironhide, on 03/04/2009, -46/+172Ah, more right-wing conspiracy theories.
- hehateme, on 03/04/2009, -27/+149haha, check out http://ImSorryRush.com to customize your own Republican "Aplology" to Rush
- pookydirt, on 03/04/2009, -26/+145Operation Rushbo... love it!
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -27/+144It's about time we focused on what actual republicans (as opposed to lying republican politicians) actually think. No Republican is going to threaten his or her position by coming right out and saying all the things that they want to say. That's why they have Rush. Time to shine some sunlight on him.
- dhughes, on 03/04/2009, -28/+142> For the record, I hope Obama fails, too, at his march toward Socialism.
Zelig, are you going to refuse to accept Social Security when you turn 65? - inactive, on 03/04/2009, -16/+127Nazi Communists? Stopped reading after that line, learn things.
- gfox, on 03/04/2009, -30/+132Hahaha this thread is hilarious, once again right out of "Right America Feeling Wronged." The bury brigade is coming Rush worshipers.
- pintomp3, on 03/04/2009, -28/+129Zelig refuses to drive on public roads and will let his house burn to the ground instead of using the socialist fire department.
- banderwocky, on 03/04/2009, -34/+124Pill popping political gold indeed.
- malex, on 03/04/2009, -19/+95Zelig won't eat any food that's been inspected by the socialist FDA.
He is also connecting directly to Digg by chewing on copper wires, to avoid using the socialist ARPA-built Internets. - an0nymous, on 03/04/2009, -12/+85This individual was the keynote speaker at CPAC, no? Got the biggest applause of the night as I recall.
Michael Steele, *head of the RNC* just apologised to him for saying he was incendiary after being called to the carpet, did he not?
And who is attacking Rush, buttercup? Just giving the man his due.
Rush Limbaugh and his dittoheads are the real Republican party. He runs the show like King George.
All hail Lord Humungous!
as an aside -how on earth am I denying someone his freedom?
anyway here's some quotes!
RNC Chairman Michael Steele:
Rush is not the head of the Republican Party. He's an "entertainer" whose show is "incendiary" and "ugly."
I'm Sorry, Rush
"My intent was not to go after Rush - I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh..."
"I was maybe a little bit inarticulate... There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership."
"I went back at that tape and I realized words that I said weren’t what I was thinking..."
Congressman Phil GingreyCongressman Phil Gingrey (R-GA):
"I mean, it’s easy if you’re Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or even sometimes Newt Gingrich to stand back and throw bricks. You don't have to try to do what's best for your people and your party. "
I'm Sorry, Rush
“I clearly ended up putting my foot in my mouth on some of those comments and I just wanted to tell you, Rush, [...] that I regret those stupid comments.”
Gov. Mark SanfordGovernor Mark Sanford (R-SC):
"Anybody who wants [President Obama] to fail is an idiot, because it means we're all in trouble..."
I'm Sorry, Rush
Sanford’s Communications Director, said that "the governor was not referring to anyone" in particular. - magicalnoodles, on 03/04/2009, -14/+74How delusional can we get, eh?
"It is great the put Rush's name out there. The more people that actually listen and hear the damage nobama is doing, will only help the Republicans in the next election cycle."
If you seriously believe that Jabba will help win you elections, you are deranged. Really, ask yourself if you honestly think he helps. If you answer 'yes' the White House has won. Therein lies the beauty; you don't realize self-inflicted wounds.
Steele was right to criticize Jabba, he should not have pussied out. - manlyandy, on 03/04/2009, -8/+61When Democrat leaders start personally apologizing to Olbermann and actively seek his approval, then you can start to focus on him like Democrats are focusing on Rush right now.
- jadenton, on 03/04/2009, -8/+59So when the last President was imprisoning Americans without trial, illegally wiretapping everyone else, letting his cronies at Halliburton loot the treasury, and sending you and your buddies off to fight and die without body armor in a country that posed no threat to us, what where you doing to fulfill your oath? Just saluting? Your ready to stand up to the fed, but what about cops who kill innocent folks as their lying on the ground (ala Oakland).
Remember, we are in this economic crisis because the Republicans decided government didn't need to watch the bank industry (or the folks making your peanut butter). - kenedamick, on 03/04/2009, -6/+57You can say "hell" on digg, big guy.
- morcheeba, on 03/04/2009, -19/+63Zelig only drives on toll roads.
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -10/+54A while ago, everyone must of missed this upcoming tho, usually this crap doesn't make FP
- JesusSaidSo, on 03/04/2009, -11/+54Ahh, the downfall of the Republican party. *eats popcorn*
- mrfunktastic, on 03/04/2009, -17/+59Corporate tax breaks are socialism for corporations, yet the Children of Reagan have no problem with it. Only when said funding actually helps citizens is it suddenly evil.
Hippocracy, ignorance, or both? It sure does make the GOP seem like the party of "***** the little guy! ***** everyone but meeeeeeeee!!!!" - ldapmonkey, on 03/04/2009, -6/+48You can replace the letters with numbers all you want... God still knows you've got a potty mouth.
- GordonClass, on 03/04/2009, -10/+49Zelig only drives on troll roads.
there fixed it for ya. - bicyclethief, on 03/04/2009, -3/+41Are you new to politics?
The Dems are trying to ruin the Republican brand even further by associating it with Rush, who, as you so astutely pointed out, probably doesn't represent the majority of Republicans. Worse, he probably represents a minority of Republicans-- an extreme one, at that.
But if Rush doesn't represent most Republican voters, why then is he the keynote speaker at the conservative CPAC conference? Why are Republican senators, representatives, and other public officials parroting Rush's "hope Obama fails" soundbyte?
So don't blame the Democrats. They're playing the game that is politics. Blame your Republican officials and institutions and party for not representing you. - Nosferotu, on 03/04/2009, -3/+37Dugg for "enormous sweaty hams".
- techweenie, on 03/04/2009, -8/+42Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer who has fashioned a make-believe world where un-governed grants to financial institutions are just fine if done by Republicans, but money given to actual employers of lower-wage workers -- with accountability -- is socialism.
Just as the seizure of citizens weapons in New Orleans caused no concern, because it happened under Bush. And adding $5.7 trillion to the national debt? Not a problem under Bush.
Limbaugh's world does not intersect with reality. The Democrats are lucky to have him as an example of irrationality. - hollywoodphony, on 03/04/2009, -15/+49This is hilarious, watching all the comments at the top going from +30 to -15 as I hit the red button.
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -40/+74Oh look Rush "hindenburg"* Limbaugh on the front page again
any publicity is good publicity, just ignore him.
*flaming nazi gasbag - jdenzer, on 03/04/2009, -5/+37Remember Limbaugh's 'Operation Chaos' How well did that turn out? Oh that's right it didn't. It helped get President Obama get elected.
- clusterfudge69, on 03/04/2009, -12/+43Hahaha you wingers are so funny being hypocrites with your comments. You can dish it out but certainly can't take it; you want Rush to be the head of the party but are mad because the news are doing what the news channels always do. You all have collective amnesia of the last eight years.
Suck. On. This. - twoheadedboy00, on 03/04/2009, -6/+37No his point is more that wingnuts that want the President to fail, put the word president in quotation marks, and call him nobama like you're in 4th grade have invaded the site. If you knew anything about this site you'd know that a consensus opinion is impossible on anything but ubuntu or kevin rose.
- pintomp3, on 03/04/2009, -10/+41So much Republican butthurt.
- manlyandy, on 03/04/2009, -11/+42Why don't Republicans get it that hoping that Obama's policies fail is the same as hoping the country fails at this point. Obama is a democrat so he will put in policies that run along the lines of what democrats believe with the end goal of saving the country. Obama and his policies and this country are at this point inexorably linked. You are actually hoping those policies designed to help us out of this mess don't work? Why don't you hope they work to the maximum ability that they can work, seeing as they are already in action. You can hope he doesn't continue or doesn't reach the apocalyptic end Republicans envision, but what is the point of hoping that they simply fail? Even when bush invaded Iraq that I didn't agree with, I hoped he would do what he was going to do and that the best possible outcome would come of it. I wish he didn't go, but once he did I never hoped for failure, because failure for Bush would be a failure for our country.
- kenedamick, on 03/04/2009, -20/+51Moron.
- kenedamick, on 03/04/2009, -10/+40Neocon love-fest in here - just like Ted Haggard!! HAHA.
- geoffg, on 03/04/2009, -30/+60If I could refuse to pay into it without going to jail then yes absolutely.
- SoulGrub, on 03/04/2009, -3/+33For those unfamiliar with the work of Rush Limbaugh, here's a classic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaieYO5XW7Q
"Democrats want to go into Darfur for the black vote"
Republicans who accept his opinion have a lot to answer for. - ldapmonkey, on 03/04/2009, -13/+43Godwin's Law anyone?
- an0nymous, on 03/04/2009, -8/+38They're not silencing him. Not at all. They want him right out in front so he can get all the recognition he deserves. Maybe he should run for office!
Palin/Limbaugh 2012 sounds great to me! - byronm, on 03/04/2009, -8/+36healthcare != socialism
government != socialism
capitalism != government
kthxbai - diggit83, on 03/04/2009, -4/+31Am I the only one who sees a moral conflict in profiting off of someones health issues?
I know its been that way for so long, that people dont take a step back and think about it, but come on, the idea that people make more money by NOT finding a cure (Sustained lifelong treatments = $$$) kinda scares the ***** out of me. - an0nymous, on 03/04/2009, -16/+43Keynote speaker at CPAC. Current RNC chair Steele forced to apologize for saying Limbaugh is "incendiary" and "a radio show host" "not the head of the RNC".
Seems like he's running the show to me. But what if he is? What's so bad about that?
He's Rush Limbaugh for goodness sakes. You dittoheads should be happy about this.
Finally you'll get your day in the sun! - twiztidsinz, on 03/04/2009, -15/+42zelig... Why do you hate the United States?
You don't have to agree with or support the President, but hoping the President fails means you hope the US fails. - inactive, on 03/04/2009, -2/+28*looks at all the comments*
Man, its beginning to feel a lot like 1993.
*Sits down and plays "NBA Jam!" on his Sega Genesis* - magicalnoodles, on 03/04/2009, -14/+38LOL.
Nobody is vilifying Jabba. The White House called him “the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party."
You DON'T understand dude.
We want Jabba to get higher ratings. We want the ***** in our country to flock to your side, thereby rendering your side too ***** to stomach by the majority.
