- duggedup, on 10/02/2008, -9/+359If I have a 48 hour crash course in foreign policy can I become the VP? I wish I knew it was this easy before I bothered with that college thing.
- MoZeu, on 10/02/2008, -15/+255Two words: blithering idiot.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -6/+204Also, meeting foreign leaders very briefly does not give you foreign policy experience, any more that if you met a rocket scientist & then claimed you had aerospace experience.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -8/+181Some of these meetings were literally 30 seconds long, yet they're claiming it adds to her experience. What a sham.
- ScientistSteve, on 10/02/2008, -9/+142It seems like the Palin campaign has touted her meeting with ALL foreign dignitaries listed as attending the US Governor's meeting in July. Although British ambassador Sir Nigel Sheinwald’s name was on that list, he was unable to attend. Wow what a paper-thin level of diplomatic experience Palin has.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -7/+101I can see trees from my house, so I have forestry experience. Put me in charge of the US Forest Service!
I can also see clouds from my house, I also have meteorology experience. Put me in charge of NOAA the National Weather Service!
I've also met the head of the ATF, there's another one for my resume!
- ketchupwfries, on 10/02/2008, -6/+96The mother from "Bobby's World" is running for VP.
DONTCHYA KNOW - MediaWeasel, on 10/02/2008, -7/+91Another example of her candyfloss resume.
I have an underwater swimming certificate I won when I was a girl. Does that give me oceanographic experience with a special interest in gaseous exchange? Pfffft. - inactive, on 10/02/2008, -6/+87Ask the McCain campaign about this, they'll just tell ya it's Obama's fault!
- StupotAce, on 10/02/2008, -1/+81"However Sir Nigel pulled out at the last minute [...]"
Palin should have this guy talk to Bristol. - inactive, on 10/02/2008, -7/+75So many lies, so little time!
- MachineMessiah, on 10/02/2008, -3/+70All you need is a liberal arts degree and the ability to deflect political questions by being cute. Pew pew pew! *wink*
- 5celery, on 10/02/2008, -8/+61Palin go home.
- Insightful, on 10/02/2008, -5/+54Oh, she visited Ireland too.... in a stopover where she never got off the plane.
- holesome, on 10/02/2008, -7/+41No more lies.
- Hillsfar, on 10/02/2008, -7/+41"Mrs Palin was at the meeting in her role as Governor of Alaska. However Sir Nigel pulled out at the last minute, leaving his name on the guest list."
So basically she was at some meeting and took down the names of EVERYONE listed as having attended, and if they were a foreign official, submitted the name as someone she had talked. Obviously she never talked with him because he wasn't there - but in listing his name without having talked with him, I bet there are MANY others at the event that she never talked to, but she put down their names anyway. Kinda like saying she visited Ireland when it was only a refueling stop.
"Excuse me, can I get past you to the hors d'ouvres?" That counts as talking. Being in the same room as someone else. That counts as foreign policy experience. - enclaved, on 10/02/2008, -1/+32My paper airplanes never stayed in the air long, does that make me John McCain?
- SomeRandomGuy, on 10/02/2008, -1/+31That's not the damning part of the issue, and you know it, PJD.
If possibly being at a party with a bunch of people that Mrs. Palin can't even remember if she met for certain is the absolute best she can come up with in terms of experience with foreign relations, then she's utterly and completely useless in that respect.
That's like me saying that since I was at the Palms casino, and someone noticed afterwards from a comp card swipe log that I'd played craps with Norv Turner, that I have all the qualifications necessary to be an assistant coach.
She's. Got. NOTHING.
Don't even try and bring up the "Oh, but Obama doesn't have any experience" bullcrap. She's SO isolated from anything involving the world around her that you could literally find ANYONE on the street with more foreign experience than her. - Hillsfar, on 10/02/2008, -3/+33"Mrs Palin was at the meeting in her role as Governor of Alaska. - ironhide, on 10/02/2008, -4/+32Yet you managed to comment about something you don't care about.
- EggNogIceCream, on 10/02/2008, -2/+29Holy *****, that must be the 40th time I have seen McCain without a flag lapel pin, just scroll down and look at it, and keep an eye out in the future. I don't know why not wearing it once for Obama would be so blown out of proportion.
- malex, on 10/02/2008, -2/+29There's a "customize" button on Digg's user-interface bar. I advise you to use it and/or stop whining.
- David1752, on 10/02/2008, -6/+31I saw a policeman walk by a minute ago, can I be Attorney
General? - ruggy690, on 10/02/2008, -4/+28oh and i can change my oil on my car and i can balance my check book, let me be in charge of GM
- WafflesID, on 10/02/2008, -4/+28"I don't give a *****. Go away."
We were thinking the same thing - deadapostle, on 10/02/2008, -0/+23Sure. Just 2 years at Occidental College, then 2 years at Columbia University to finish up your Bachelor's... oh, and a Master's from Harvard. I mean... The fact that he spent so much time in his life working hard to get an Ivy League education and then went and wasted it on helping under-priviledged communities goes to show that he doesn't care about Americans... right?
- panicbombs, on 10/02/2008, -7/+30Why does she hate Freedom and the truth?
- PleaseJustDie, on 10/02/2008, -9/+30FTA: "In an answer to questions about her foreign policy experience ahead of tonight's make-or-break vice presidential TV debate, her aides listed numerous contacts with foreign officials - including Britain's ambassador to Washington, Sir Nigel Sheinwald."
"Mrs Palin was at the meeting in her role as Governor of Alaska. However Sir Nigel pulled out at the last minute, leaving his name on the guest list. "
Sounds to me like her aides just read off a list of names from the guest list. Since it was her aides they asked and gave that answer to them, not her. Its a pretty far stretch from, aides making a mistake and giving incorrect information to her intentionally lying about it. - DryCat, on 10/02/2008, -1/+20You deserve a lot of diggs for this comment.
- raulbot, on 10/02/2008, -5/+24http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y110/puckinnichil ...
- Valujet, on 10/02/2008, -3/+21Yea, why would it be a big deal that she is padding her resume by saying she has met with foreign dignataries when in fact she was just at a conference when they were there. Did she actually meet anyone there? My guess is no.
- smartest4you, on 10/02/2008, -4/+21McCain is a maverick, he will say or do anything for the sake of this country. God save this country and this world from him.
- toptopics, on 10/02/2008, -22/+39Liar, Liar. Palin bitch this is not Alaska where you can get away with your cute little lies you idiot. This bitch has a mind of a 2 year old.
- johnnick, on 10/02/2008, -2/+19Well, we wouldn't put you in charge right away, but it's good to know that you're ready to step in if the septuagenarian, cancer-prone head of any of those agencies kicks the bucket.
- romlalji, on 10/02/2008, -3/+19dugg for bobby's world reference
- thelif, on 10/02/2008, -4/+20It's amusing, knowing how the rest of the world looks at us. Did I say amusing? I meant shameful.
- DarkPrincess74, on 10/02/2008, -0/+15Seeing a policeman only qualifies you to be Chief of Police. You'll need to see a lawyer with at least 10 years of experience to be Attorney General. I have faith that you can do it, keep trying!
- Alli3388, on 10/02/2008, -2/+17I don't think she's an idiot. She's just a small town girl livin' in a small town world.
- Anomaly100, on 10/02/2008, -2/+17Not at all.
- cgsitr, on 10/02/2008, -3/+18Just more proof that Palin has to lie to boost her "knowledge" or "experience" to bring herself up to the level of others.
I keep hearing about how Joe Biden needs to walk on eggshells and treat Sarah Palin like porcelain. WHAT? Did Joe walk on eggshells and treat Hillary like porcelain? Maybe the real difference here is that Hillary has balls, and Sarah Palin has…lipstick.
Sarah came across as arrogant/very much into herself. When you come across like that, many are eager to tear you down over even the slightest slipup during interviews. - Sherman901, on 10/02/2008, -0/+15deadapostle just owned your ***** way good sdevinen
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+17Excellent, lol!
- DarkPrincess74, on 10/02/2008, -1/+15New game show concept: Are you dumber than a Sarah Palin?
- bundwallah, on 10/02/2008, -2/+16LOL. Priceless!! I made paper airplanes as a kid... does that make me a pilot?
- kdawg1012, on 10/02/2008, -2/+16I'm sure she remembers that meeting and she remembers that it was substantive. Why else use it. Oh, he wasn't there. What's that say about the Republican VP nominee. If she lies now, she will lie later. And we can't afford more lies from within the White House.
- HarryRag, on 10/02/2008, -2/+16It does add to experience.
Experience in speed dating, that is. - chrissku, on 10/02/2008, -5/+18I can't wait for the voters to send that dummy back to Alaska. At least up there she can keep an eye on Putin for us. Just in case he "rears his head in our airspace."
- magus_melchior, on 10/02/2008, -1/+14In keeping with British tradition: "Stupid git."
