Bush to Congress: Confirm Mukasey Now, Ask Questions About Torture Later

thinkprogress.org — During today’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Dana Perino brushed aside lawmakers’ concerns about Michael Mukasey’s views on torture, urging them to quickly confirm him as attorney general. “Once he is confirmed, then the Congress has the capability to ask him to come to Congress and to testify on all sorts of matters," she said.

  • inactive, on 11/03/2007, -0/+1does the hubris of this administration, the cheek, the clear rejection of traditional courtesy and respect have no limits? This is a parody of itself but the humour is hard to appreciate when so many people are tortured, mutilated or dead.
    Mr. Bush, you will be judged by history and you will be judged by God. In both instances you will be found wanting.
