- machinepolitick, on 11/21/2008, -2/+6That's why I don't like Bush. He's not Conservative.
I just don't understand the excitement over Obama. He's not going to 'Change' anything. It'll be more Bush/Clinton big brotherism on a grander scale. Add his cabinet appointments from the Clinton administration, then explain to me why people think he'll change Washington. - inactive, on 11/21/2008, -2/+5and they call Obama a socialist!
- zacharytelschow, on 11/21/2008, -0/+2What a crappy "article." It didn't mention the length of previous unemployment benefits or what they were extended to (39 and 52 weeks, for the curious). Under Bush's watch, unemployment benefits have gone from covering 26 weeks to 52. *shaking head* Knowing your butt is covered for a year doesn't exactly incentivize trying to get a new job after being laid off. In the past, ~95% of those who were laid off were able to find a new job within 26 weeks (hence the reason for ending benefits then). I wonder what that number will become now...
- Brandoskey, on 11/21/2008, -1/+3just wait till one of you has to rely on these benefits to survive, my job as a carpenter has been hit very hard by the collapse of the housing bubble, so has every other building trade in my area.

- antistupid, on 11/21/2008, -3/+3All of these republicans are worried about Obama bringing socialism to the US, but Bush has been easing it in from behind while they weren't looking. Shocker!
