- badave, on 10/12/2007, -6/+31I'm a lazy Asian...
Oh, and Asia is a pretty big place to be making such a stupid remark about. The whole thing is wrong actually. Everyone knows that Mexicans hard, white people get management jobs, Indians work at gas stations, hotels, and motels, and Chinese are good at math. Right?
Why are we still referring to people by their race instead of by the fact that everyone has their own personality? - joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27I'm sick of staring at those lazy hispanics re-roofing the house across the street in 100 degree weather. So sick that I think I'm just going to go drinking with my Asian business friends. And NO, I'm not inviting my macine co-worker. I HATE WORKING WITH THESE IDIOT MACHINES!
- joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Ya know, Nugent is a pretty staunch environmentalist. Crazy MoFo, but I think one could do a lot worse than him for environmental oversight.
- minsocks, on 10/12/2007, -9/+22Where does Bush find these people? They're all so completely ill-suited for their jobs and their qualifications appear to be crap, and so many of them are on public record as bigots. I agree with diggery... it's time to outsource the White House.

Because our government, media, and educational system all teach us that people have characteristics based on their skin color. - NOFXY, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12best comment on that page
"If Hispanics are lazy, and they’re doing the jobs that Americans won’t do, what does that say about the rest of us?"
-Badmoodman - jhnewt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9And Blacks and Asians. So that makes it ok since her criticisms were diverse.
I'm sick of having to work with a computer all day. Guess what race I am! - aukxsona, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13you know what's worse is when people don't know what to call you...and this is a racial country. I have black hair with blond highlights in summer, tan/olive skin in the summer and glow in the dark white in winter, almond eyes, regular build , freckles, chestnut brown eyes with flakes of gold, and plump lips. This is naturally who I am too. No make up nothing. My hair is curly and sometimes frizzy to the point I need special gels. I have people come up to me and speak Spanish? Call me a "sister"? I was invited to join an African American group ..? But my mom is as white as neon white and my dad says he is Native American...but only a little. (I don't know what tribe...he refused to give me the info because I am a half breed)
When people ask me what my race or ethnicity is I don't know how to answer...you know those stupid government forms. I always put "other" and/or write unknown. THAT really throws them for a loop. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16I think Bush has realized that nobody likes him, so hes trying to be the most hated president in history; just like Diggers who say stupid things so they can be Dugg down so much it feels good.

- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Hrrrmmm... the comments she made were two DECADES ago. And she also RESGINED over them and issued an apology.
Furthermore
"In a July 13, 2005 letter, Fore promised Obama that she “would work with the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in identifying the best practices that can be used to strengthen diversity in the State Department” [AP, 7/19/05]"
And the only counter to that is that Rawstory, reports that a member of the CBC confirms she hasn't shown up for two years. I mean... that's a great source right???
More Propaganda from the people at thinkprogress.
For reference, populist is a committed anti-bush person. Go look at the profile and see that every article submitted is from a site that pushes half truths. - devoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6and Government workers are overly generalistic.
- joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"Hahahahaha. How PC of the moderators, burying me for suggesting there's a grain of truth in what she says."
Do you even know how Digg works?
"Good job guys, way to be objective and scientific. The right thing to do would be to run some numbers and see if she's right, something that compares days taken sick, vacation, etc. Quantity of work produced, if there's even a metric for such a thing (hint, most manufacturing facilities track time and motion for just this reason). That's the way to find out."
And I'm sure you've done that, right? And are ready to share your numbers with us? Please do! - eleventybillion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Don't knock The Nuge. He's one of few honest humans left. We need him for our scientific studies, so that we can once-and-for-all eliminate this "honesty" flaw in mankind.
- fober, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13Tune in next week, when Ted Nugent is nominated to head the EPA.
- camknows, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13Um... she made fun of white people, too. >.>
- joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"The libtard left has nothing to due except pick on the ***** meaningless crap that happens in the Bush admin."
You mean like the whole Clinton Impeachment!? Oh. Wait. That was Republicans wasting time on meaningless Democratic crap.
Yea, opinions are opinions. But when someone has a rather ignorant/borderline racist opinion that's going to be in a position of leadership, I'm all for people pointing it out. - np374, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Pardon me for my ignorance, but who the hell came up with the term "lazy mexican"? They're one of the hardest working people I've ever seen.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16Seriously, between the bumbled joke Jr. made about the Queen of England (to her face..implying she was 200), Cheney telling his cronies to remove the press from a press conference, the ridiculous abuse of power that has been going on for the past 6 years, and now this, is anyone even surprised by this administration anymore? Jr. could address the U.N. in full "Macho Man" Randy Savage attire and tell the rest of the world to "snap into a slim jim" and all I would honestly be able to do is shake my head.
How do these people even still have supporters (who aren't millionaires) at this point? - fober, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I was really only considering Ted Nugent - the hunter, when I grasped for that Environmental Protection joke.
I'm well aware of his efforts.
"In encouraging tree planting and environmental stewardship, he gives more than 10,000 trees to Detroit area schools each year and promotes Arbor Day on his Detroit-based radio show. In addition, each Arbor Day he invites children, parents, and teachers to his ranch for a day of learning through a nature walk and hands-on tree planting experience." - noctum17, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Most Americans are lazy. It has nothing to do with race.

But I got a solution." - President Camacho - duggudown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Hispanics are lazy? All people are lazy at one point in time. Hispanics are not dumb either if you pay someone $6.75/hour do you really expect them to be the most efficient person ever?
People don't work harder when you paid them less you know. The bitch is just greedy and wants them to work more at the same pay rate. - eatsushi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5whew, it's a good day to be Asian

The problem with stereotypes is that you can be on the line between an affirmation that can be harmless and one that can reach out to be discrimination.
For example your own stereotype on black people maybe will not have an impact on a regular life, but i can think of many job applications that can be rejected because if he or she is hispanic then he may be lazy so dont hire him or her.
Stereotypes on women are the cause of most of their discrimination in job places.
So i will agree with you stereotypes does not have to be related with racism, but if you endorse negative stereotypes you can be supporting discrimination. - robinthehood, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9As a Canadian, I can only sit back and laugh from afar. Incidentally, this reminded me of a great joke we might all remember.
Q - Why are there no Hispanics on Star Trek?
A - They don't work in the future either!
Should anyone not get sarcasm, STFU. It's a joke. - ambrosious, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/04/27/daily-show-monica-goodling-and-pat-robertson-university/
That's where. - joeyjojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Penn and Teller are one of the few sources that I can quite often completely disagree with their POVs but completely appreciate and understand the information they deliver. They often do have the power to change minds (for those that listen to them).
- bladzalot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@ joeyjojo
Dude, sterotyping and racism are not hand in hand, sorry. I can name a stereotype for just about every race, yet I have incredible friends in just about every race, how the hell does that make me racist? Saying that Mexicans are lazy is not racist, it is a stereotype, weather it accurate or not is another story. But I get sick and tired of people throwing around the word racist. Racist is hating a race, period...I love blacks, have a ton of black friends, but I know that the majority of them cannot swim, does that make me racist? - dmightx, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2And why are we lazy? I hate seeing ignorant people like you making such statements without backing it up. Bottom line is... we may not be as rich as you but it doesn't mean we don't bust our asses for what we have.
- greenjohnsmith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That is simply not everyones experience! This is the dumbest thing to be discussing. Some of us will have good positive experiences of them not being lazy, and some will have experiences where they are lazy! Enough said.
- endtyranny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Equal opportunity hatred, I think I like her.
- joelito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And in Microsoft's space simulator Freelancer, Hispanics are mostly drug dealers and artifacts smugglers.
- MaynardJK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Do you know what 'racist' even means? It means prejudging an entire group of people based on some arbitrary/unrelated trait."
Actually that is prejudice. Racism is believing one race is superior to another. - jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Lets let the Mexicans do it for a year, its the only country in North America with worse leadership than us.
- eatsushi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"Mexican Americans love education, so they take Spanish, and get a B!"
- Cheech Marin - thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@joeyjo
The impeachment of clinton was over PERJURY. The president of the USA (and a lawyer to boot) takes a ***** all over the judicial system because he doesn't want to fess up to a blow job...
and that's a SMALL matter.
The prevailing though on digg is that Bush lied because he got mistaken intelligence.... But it's ok that Clinton ACTUALLY LIED UNDER OATH (proven fact) because it was just about a blow job and it should have never been asked.
Talk about hypocrisies. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Did anyone but me notice that:
1) This was on ThinkProgress. If it's Bush's nominee, they will be portrayed badly there.
2) They don't give a transcript of what she said. I can interpret a lot of things to mean that Hispanics are lazy.
3) This allegedly happened in 1987. What if she genuinely changed her beliefs?
Oh, and I do NOT condone what she says, just point out how questionable the article is. - robinthehood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@nocturn17
Include Canadians in this too. It seems to be a North American way of thinking. We bitch constantly about "immigrants stealing our jobs" yet, for the most part it's us lazy ***** unwilling to do jobs we consider "below us". This is a big reason why I never went to university. I hate this damn culture of entitlement we're breeding here in this country (USA, Canada, et. al) Grads fully expect they're going to come out and get 100k+ a year with a 401k right out of University. Not the case. You want your dues? You gotta sweat for them.
In short, North Americans that have been through a couple of generations on this continent are lazy. -
