- pbendenhaft, on 08/15/2008, -11/+75John McCain came back from Vietnam with a limp, he was met by his wife, who had been in a devastating car crash, also with a limp. She loved him despite the changes in him, though he was not the fit flyboy she had married. He took one look at her and started cheating on her because she was not the model he had married. He met, dated, slept with, and proposed to Cindy while he was still married. He lies about it now, but it's in his book.
He's a liar and a coward and a cad. Some folks believe marriage is a sacrament. It is not just a covenant with another human being, it is a covenant with God. John McCain seems to believe he has the evangelical and religious right vote sewn up. Some are not so easily purchased because of the label "Republican", some need more than words to sway, some need deeds. Nothing says more about a man than how he treats, respects, loves, and cares for his wife and his family. Though sickness and in health. Til death do us part. Which part of his vows did John McCain forget? - B08ama, on 08/15/2008, -6/+48Watch them say suddenly that the opinions of pastors no longer matter like they did back in March.
- ReidFleming, on 08/15/2008, -4/+41Link to the story this blog is referencing: http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/08/je ...
There's an awful lot of copied text in the blog which may or may not be overstepping the bounds of fair use. I'm just sayin'.... - lakersdominate, on 08/15/2008, -5/+41So the pastor who married Jenna Bush is an Obama surrogate. Wow, that guy must be a Jedi or something. Did anyone in the McCain put some thought into that statement before they released it?
- axel000, on 08/15/2008, -15/+48The truth is slowly coming out, McCain is a sleazeball. Even the pastors know it.
- tastypaste, on 08/15/2008, -3/+35He ditched his kids and his crippled wife because his new fling was younger and richer. John McCain will do anything for money. That's why he accepts more campaign money from corporate interests and lobbyists than anyone else. That's why his top campaign advisers are lobbyists. That's why in 1999 he had an affair with a female lobbyist. He literally gets into bed with whoever pays him the most.
- gaqua, on 08/15/2008, -1/+24I live in California, have lived in Utah and Colorado as well. Turns out there are a lot more religious people the farther you get from the ocean.
- nblsavage, on 08/15/2008, -2/+25but...but...EDWARDS!!!
- Stevethegreat, on 08/15/2008, -3/+24Is really like that in America, everyone *has* a pastor? In most of Europe pastors' are not accounted for much, they're mostly accounted as nuts, it's amazing and downward weird the reverence that Americans (or American media) have for their pastors.
- swrostmore, on 08/15/2008, -4/+24"Is there anybody that's as tired of payin' four dollars a - a - BUCKS - a - ah - four bu- dollars a gallon for gasoline? Is there anyone who's tired of it? Is there anyone who wants to become energy independent?"
- McCain showing his blue-collar roots to the crowd at Sturgis - Thuktun, on 08/15/2008, -3/+21Oh noes, Obama linked with renewable fuels! How scandalizing.
- publiclurker, on 08/16/2008, -0/+17Well, at least we don't have to listen to the "but...but...Clinton" any more.
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -4/+20Slowly coming out? He began endorsing and campaigning for Obama in January.
The only thing slow here is this blogger's ability to gather information. - inactive, on 08/15/2008, -5/+20Now be honest, it wasn't Sturgis that got his panties in a bunch, he stated in January that he'd be stumping for Obama.
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/01/bu ...
As for the campaign surrogate part, I'd say that's a fair assessment:
FTA: Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell, senior pastor of Winsor Village United Methodist Church in Texas, plans to campaign for Obama. - TalahRama, on 08/15/2008, -5/+19Whoo, good thing they're just wads of flesh and not unborn babies.
- tastypaste, on 08/15/2008, -2/+15That was an attempt to get people to ignore his previous comment that he didn't know how much gas costs because he hadn't pumped his own gas in years. So he went to a blue collar motorcycle rally to try to fit in. Unfortunately he flubbed his line, volunteered his wife for a topless contest and stood out exactly how you'd think a rich guy would at a blue collar gathering.
- B08ama, on 08/15/2008, -5/+18No, fool, I'm pointing out that these are some of the people who tried to say that Wright's views defined Obama.
- Stevethegreat, on 08/15/2008, -2/+15The further you're from the ocean the further you're from the ports and the new ideas that people from abroad may bring, no? (obviously not much of a case for the last half of the 20th century, but still....)
- PabloMac, on 08/15/2008, -1/+13Yes, people who make sweeping generalizations in their comments are so much more intelligent than "Harley folks."
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -4/+16Religion essentially ruins government.
- FairNUnBalanced, on 08/16/2008, -5/+16Right. The earth is flat, evolution is a myth, life begins at ejaculation and Obama is a murderer. -rollingeyes
And these people complain about not being taken seriously. - inactive, on 08/16/2008, -3/+13I think we'll be quite content to continue speaking the truth against your misogynistic *****, PabloMac.
- Mejari, on 08/16/2008, -1/+11More of a case than you might think. You'd be surprised at the lack of knowledge the center of the country possesses about the world at large, even with all the opportunities they have to learn.
- solboldi, on 08/15/2008, -0/+10Caldwell introduced Bush at the 2000 Republican National Convention.
- tmyprod, on 08/15/2008, -8/+17I was in Sturgis at The Buffalo Chip when he was talking. Our drummer was wondering if he could nail him with a rock from stage hill.
- infodoc1, on 08/15/2008, -3/+12This guy's opinion doesn't mean much to me if he believes McCain's Sturgis stunt to be immoral yet is a "close personal friend" of one of the most immoral people on the planet.

This says it all:
"Well–McCain did admit to calling his wife a trollop and a *****. He deserted his first wife to marry a rich one after she waited for him as a POW and got in an accident which left her disabled. He now thinks his *****/trollop could win a topless contest–he probably thinks she would make a pretty good stripper or hooker too, since that is what a ***** and trollop does–we see a man who if not a true believer in Christ, is tacky and chauvinistic as heck–if nothing else. As for what he does really stand for–McCain has no respect for his wife, any other woman who expects his feelings for her would be different or deferential is just blind–and any man who respects women would not sanction or condone his remarks. On the other hand, since he advocates hot water for dehydrated babies and thinks that no nation invades other sovereign nations in the 21st century–there are more salient reasons to see McCain as something not worthy of a vote and worse–besides his obvious disrespect for his wife and every other woman."
Comment by geraldine | August 16, 2008 - ReidFleming, on 08/15/2008, -2/+11First, no - that's not all I had to add. I added the link to the story itself. Second, my reasoning for posting the part about 'fair use' was for the protection of THE BLOGGER, not for you. I count 368 out of 760 words used which is nearly half of the whole article. I think that's, at the very least, dangerously close.
- MaryCait, on 08/15/2008, -1/+10I wish he would have gone up there and gotten the full body paint treatment!
STURGIS whooooooooo!!!!
srsly though, the Black Hills rock. - briansearles, on 08/15/2008, -5/+14Did you put any thought into "anyone in the McCain" before you released yours?
- spyd3rweb, on 08/16/2008, -1/+9It shouldn't matter a damn what the presidents family values are because the government shouldn't have any control over your families values.
- Thuktun, on 08/15/2008, -2/+10"Pastors are really not supposed to campaign for political candidates."
Is that in their job description or something?
What about pastors who run for office?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Huckabee - tmyprod, on 08/15/2008, -1/+9The four visible snipers on the roof.
- alvination, on 08/15/2008, -0/+8What the hell is wrong with boobies?
- tastypaste, on 08/15/2008, -3/+10I believe it is the McCain people who do not want to open the doors to the past. They don't want to discuss John McCain's multiple marital infidelities, against both of his wives. They don't want to discuss his central role in the Keating Five scandal. The don't want to discuss the fact that Cindy McCain's father was linked to the 1970s car bombing of a Phoenix reporter who was investigating his finances. They don't want to discuss McCain's past because it opens up the ugly truth behind the Snake Tongued Express.
- Number23, on 08/15/2008, -6/+13Hold on, I'm confused. I thought Christians were stupid and evil? Isn't a Christian pastor endorsement like being endorsed by the KKK?
- Thuktun, on 08/15/2008, -3/+10Please, the McCain campaign was going to attack Obama over anything they could get their hands on anyway. This changes nothing in that regard.
- dafragsta, on 08/15/2008, -4/+11It's easy to explain. neonocons aren't that nocreative.
- life036, on 08/16/2008, -0/+7How the ***** did Obama charge patients? Since when was he a medical Doctor?
- tmyprod, on 08/15/2008, -1/+8Explain the "(N)Obama".
- Mejari, on 08/16/2008, -2/+9You've seen the bigotry? Does that mean you looked in a mirror?
- inactive, on 08/15/2008, -5/+11Thanks for the oblique comment troll.
get back to your Coors Light and NASCAR ***** grunt. - life036, on 08/16/2008, -4/+10Superstitious ***** retard.
- akchrs, on 08/15/2008, -1/+7and if he had hopefully someone would post a youtube video of the beating he would have received.
- ashwinmudigonda, on 08/15/2008, -5/+11rofFl, the Republicans are talking about character. God, stop this world from spinning. I want to get off here.
- publiclurker, on 08/16/2008, -4/+10So just because you are racist, you automatically assume that they all are.
- funkyloki, on 08/15/2008, -1/+7Let's not forget that at the same rally, after talking about the woes of high gas prices and the supply of oil, he tells the crowd he wants to hear, well, the sound of all of the motorcycle riders revving their engines. Are you kidding me?
- Zomgondo, on 08/15/2008, -1/+7I have no idea why it's so awesome to see that guy in this thread... but it is :)
- publiclurker, on 08/16/2008, -0/+6Disgusting for which, McCain or the lobbyist?
