- maklershed, on 10/11/2007, -10/+37Mentioning al-Qaida, presumably in an effort to make the US population fearful and thusly rally support for Bush .. wait a minute let me check something here ... *consults dictionary.com*

–noun
1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes. - chase001, on 10/11/2007, -5/+27He should give an entire speech composed of only the words Al Queda, 9/11 and Bin Laden.
- knobtwiddler, on 10/11/2007, -5/+19heil bush!
heil bush!
heil bush! - ziffel, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14I think you're missing the point. Bush is using "Al Quada" to get people to swallow exactly what you've apparently swallowed ... that somehow the fight against al Quada has something to do with a massive troop buildup in Iraq, a completely unecessary war, and most likely a strike/invasion against Iran in the not-too-distant future. Bush uses fear-mongering to advance his own, personal agenda. An agenda that the vast majority of Americans have *clearly* shown they do NOT support.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Guliani + Bush + Cheny. What do they tell you?

Sigh - slayerab, on 10/11/2007, -6/+15Hmm, I wonder how many times he's said the words Al Quaida since 2002?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11This is Bush Derangement Syndrome.
- loganhid, on 10/11/2007, -5/+13Bush is one bastard , along with the rest of the terroist.
- stepnw1f, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Somebody ask Bush why he flew the Bin Ladens out of America without being questioned right after 9-11.
- Derrekito, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Attempt to brainwash? Wtf does Al Qaeda have to do with Iraq?
- Ulisses, on 10/11/2007, -6/+11Like Bush much?
- spurtle, on 10/11/2007, -2/+71776 x 911^2001
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -0/+5Can we just bring big LIAR signs to every event he speaks at now? Wear t-shirts? Shout it out loud? You know flash them up every time he regurgitates one of the thousands of lies his administration created? Just a free speech thought for the day.
- yutt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Meaninglessly labeling people "liberals" and "conservatives" doesn't do anything beyond make you sound like a simple-minded idiot.
Still don't think we are in a war? What does that even mean? We are clearly in a war. I think most everyone, regardless of political views, is aware of that. Or are you saying for the rest of my life I should live in fear over something that occurred 6 years ago, and killed far less people than drunk driving does annually.
People die for all sorts of reasons. Mixing pop-jingoism and war-mongering into prioritizing how we deal with those deaths is irrational and dangerous. Why haven't billions been spent on the War-on-Drunk-Driving? It kills hundreds of thousands more Americans than any terrorists ever have.
Why don't you live in fear of drunk drivers? Or maybe rant about how liberals are alcoholics and don't support prohibition. Tell me about how Rudy Giuliani is the only person who can save us from the dangerous of alcohol abuse. - antineocon, on 10/11/2007, -7/+12AAAHHH... Are they coming? Save us Georgie....
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+12I think Mexicans are a bigger threat than Al Qeada.
- kurttrail, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8Yeah, I can't believe that there are 28% of Americans that are so deranged as to still support the Incompetent-in-Chief.
You do know that it was Nazi Propaganda theory that you can sell any lie to the masses you want, just by repeating it over and over again. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+11Didn't Hitler do the same thing but he used the words, "filthy jew" instead of "al queda"? Create a common enemy, rally the masses.........zzzzzz
History doth repeat.
American politicians now serve the interests of that tiny state called Israel. - 4dSwissChees, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9Umm...hate to spoil your fun, but I'd bet most of the references were to "al-Qaida in Iraq", which didn't exist before 9/11, but is now a major terrorist group and source of instability within the country. So it's in fact entirely legitimate to frequently mention them in an Iraq speech.
- pyry, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Dang. Should have listened. That would have been one hell of a drinking game.
- SaxxonPike, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8Rep: We aren't quite ready for 40 yet, but we're working on it. Shooting for 30 'al Qaida' mentions was our primary goal this month.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Dweebo777, you ***** idiot.
- cutesegirl, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8A desperate (little) man is grasping for desperate measures to shore up his insecurities. The prick needs to be ousted from government and hunted down like the pathetic little man he really is.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Nonsense, everyone knows Mexicans are small people
- ronpaul20008, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5you forgot "Iran...."
- NoTiG, on 10/11/2007, -5/+8"The first one can be described as ‘blitz-propaganda’, which is in essence simple and straightforward: aimed to appeal to the disillusioned and fuel their already present anxieties. This kind of mind food is generally meant to embolden its audience, hoping the receiver will respond in this or that way. Although based on a subtle recipe, the propaganda is surprisingly simple: to repeat and repeat and repeat the message until the mass mindset is brought in a sufficient passive state that all ability to dissent shuts down for a certain period of time; it’s critical that the juices from its venomous fangs are sustained just long enough for the trick to work. Personal attacks will usually not be avoided by the blitz-propagandists, nor will attacks on some singled out subgroup.
Propaganda minister of the Third Reich, Joseph Goebbels, already said it in a famous quote that should be recited here in full lest we forget how the enemy thinks:
‘If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.’
" - TantrooM, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Unfortunately a good friend of mine said he was going to take a drink every time push said "Al Qaida" in the speech... he's now waiting for a new liver.
- mco5t9, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3you haven't been paying attention
http://billroggio.com/archives/2007/06/the_iraq_offensive.php - wiremonkeymommy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6in his mind, repetition equals truth
just like his "It'll take 20 years before I'm appreciated" comments; pure delusion - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4lol Its really perverse that this man can do what he has done....Goes to show that the American White House has but a few patriots and the rest are either DUI or asleep at the wheel...
- swiftekho, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5It'd probably make more sense than his current speeches.
- dukeeeey, on 10/11/2007, -8/+11there is no al Qaeda .....
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9213554821937648649&q=there+is+no+al+Qaeda&total=282&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=1 - rmock, on 10/11/2007, -9/+11Sadly, our President continues to mislead his constituents for his own personal gains. Of all of the reasons to be disappointed in the performance of this president and his administration, his own willful deceits and deceptions, used to support his own untenable positions trumps the list.
- ccrook, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Yeah because there is no such thing as a group called "Al-Qaeda in Iraq" or anything. Get a ***** grip. They might not have been there before the war, but to not mention them now is absolutely asinine.
- paganmonkeyboy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5ya know, if he was talking about afghanistan it would be ok...or did you miss that little fact where the white house admitted al Q had no ties to/activities in iraq UNTIL AFTER WE WENT IN...
- tehpwnrate, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Yes, there is an Al Qaeda. I can't believe a 9/11 "Truth" video is getting dugg up, when it's just another load of crap.
Read "Against All Enemies" by Richard Clarke. It'll give you some real facts and real insight into the world of counter-terror, from a relatively unbiased and extremely knowledgeable source. If you get all of your information from internet videos, you're not going to know any real facts. - nosecohn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2"Can you be preseident? Likely not. Bush is, and it is your constitutional responsibility to either support the active president or simply shut up.."
Whoa, whoa, whoa! I think you've forgotten what country you live in.
Free speech is guaranteed in this nation's constitution precisely so that the people can assemble and protest against the government. Read pretty much anything the founders wrote in debating the articles. If you think it's your constitutional duty to support the active president, then you must be thinking about the Chinese constitution.
Oh, and I bet you were exercising your constitutional duty to support the president every day when Clinton was in office, huh? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3And ask how much money his family has made off of the wars in Afganistan and Iraq through his fathers seat in the Carlysle Group. Oh, and that seat? Ya, its right next the Osama's brothers seat in the Carlysle Group. Oh, and why did Osama's other brother and brother in law fund his oil company "Arbusto Oil" back in the 70's? Why do the Bin Laden's have a mansion right next to the Bush mansion in Houston Texas? Or how bout the Bin Laden International Airport also in Houston Texas? I could keep going, but I just can't wait to have this comment buried by the right wing nutjobs on here so that no one can see these facts and actually do some research for themselves to verify what i am saying.
lol Its really perverse that this man can do what he has done....Goes to show that the American White House has but a few patriots and the rest are either DUI or asleep at the wheel...The saddest thing is I cannot beleive people cannot think for themselves! The 911 thing, the Lies, the treason, the attack on America by Americans and no one is saying diddely squat!
Hooah! America! Look Jesus is coming,,,in the form of a mushroom cloud! lol - stepnw1f, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Bush is a terrorist. When you pay assasins or directly support coup attempts (Chavez, Haiti, Iraq) to take down leaders who are unfriendly to certain business interests, what else would you call it? Problem is, people accept it here, for it's been going on a lot longer than just Bush's tenure. And some still wonder why terrorists would want to attack America? Pure stupidity and ignorance of US foreign policy has delivered us 9-11... WAKE UP AMERICA!
- eagle22s, on 10/11/2007, -6/+8B.D.S.
- geekee, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Yeah, all those Jewish suicide bombers before WWII. You're a retard.
- MrEguy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3and you also forgot (during the last election): Saddam, Saddam, Saddam, September the 11th, 9/11, Saddam, September 11th 2001, 9/11, Saddam, September the 11th, 9/11, Saddam, Saddam, September the 11th, 9/11, Saddam, Saddam, September the 11th, 9/11, Saddam, Saddam, September the 11th, 9/11, Saddam, September the 11th, 9/11, Saddam, September 11th, September 11th, September 11th, Saddam, Saddam, Saddam
- Stormflux, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2At this point, I'd say Bush has used 9/11 to perpetrate far worse damage than the original incident caused. He played the country for chumps. At this point, bringing Bush to justice should be Congress's top priority.
- Stormflux, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3All those plots were either disrupted by law enforcement or killed less than 1000 people. Compare that to Bush's war, which has killed over 700,000 and injured god-knows how many. Let's deal with Bush first, get him out of office, and then we can worry the other things.
- ccrook, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Irrelevant to the situation on the ground. We should be looking to fix things not placing blame right now. Get out of 2003 and actually DO something to fix the situation in Iraq, then worry about blame.
Too bad the democratic congress has apparently castrated themselves. - BassMastr, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4No I totally got the point that he is trying to build support for a very unpopular war. I also agree that MANY MANY mistakes have been made in Iraq and I'm just as unhappy about it as you and everyone else is. I'm past ready for this war to be over. I'm sure if we could go back and do it all over we would never go into Iraq...but we did. I just think that if we up and leave the problems in Iraq would double or triple and eventually spread. Regardless of whether invading Iraq was right or wrong...we did it and now we have to see it through. Al - Q is now there whether it's our fault or not...and they must be dealt with...And we have to deal with them until the Iraqis can do it themselves. Nobody knows for sure what would happen if we just upped and left Iraq but I think it would be one of the worst things we could possibly do... That's my opinion and apparently a very unpopular one.
- yutt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Wow, he said 'al Qaida' almost as much as the article 'a'? Good find!
- BassMastr, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Fair enough...I see your point.
- bwhancock, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3So al Qaeda isn't in Iraq?
Should we be fighting al Qaeda?
If they are in Iraq, should we be fighting al Qaeda there? -
