:'( - jstohler, on 07/08/2008, -1/+46Fool us once, shame on... shame on him. Fool us... can't get fooled again.
- inactive, on 07/08/2008, -5/+46Our job in Iraq was done when we threw Saddam out of Kuwait.
- Stormwern, on 07/08/2008, -7/+45Bush and his surrogates should be asked about this over and over at every press event and interview until he produces a good answer.
- DeadElephantORG, on 07/08/2008, -10/+39I wonder which motivated them more... a trillion dollars worth of oil, or a place to put 50 permanent bases within quick-strike distance from Iran (and another trillion dollars worth of oil). The Halibuton neoCons will NEVER, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, leave Iraq. --DeadElephant.ORG
- SoyJames, on 07/08/2008, -2/+29In 1989, thirteen months after the oft-cited occasion when Saddam Hussein "gassed his own people" in Kurdish villages, then-Secretary of State Baker sent a nice note to Iraqi Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz, seeking "to strengthen the relationship between the United States and Iraq whenever possible". In 1990, while Baker was Secretary of State under Bush, Saddam met with U.S. Ambassador April Glaspie before attacking Kuwait, and specifically asked Glaspie if the U.S. would object to an attack. Glaspie referenced Baker, her boss, in her response: "We have no opinion on your Arab-Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary Baker has directed me to emphasize the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960s, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America." Saddam subsequently attacked Kuwait...
- Dynasty911, on 07/08/2008, -5/+26Shame on Bush. No wonder the US is in the condition it's currently in.
- dunderballer, on 07/08/2008, -4/+16The more the Bushies and McCainites insist on continued occupation of Iraq against the will of the majority of Americans and Iraqis, the more evident it is becoming that the invasion was about gaining a strategic Oil interest. As we enter a more global economy, world oil demand is increasing. The US economy may take a hit if it doesn't continue to be able to consume the majority of the worlds oil at lower prices paid by other countries. That fact does not make the trade of blood for oil justifiable. It is time to be honest about the situation. Democratic Governor Brian Schweitzer had some straight talk on the issue:

I have never been so shocked in my entire adult life, this has to be some sort of grand, silly mistake! - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -2/+11As Bush once said.
"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again. "
..yeahhhh - Matri, on 07/09/2008, -2/+11It would take decades.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -2/+11At least he is willing to stand by his words...Unlike Bush.
- wazzu07, on 07/08/2008, -7/+15Didn't they ask like 3 years ago?
- rz8472, on 07/09/2008, -1/+8So anything critical of the War in Iraq is automatically anti-Israeli? You do realize that it's actually to Israel (and everyone else's) benefit if we leave since all the occupation has done is decreased dramatically the quality of life for everyday Iraqis, made it a hotbed for extremism, and aroused anti-American and anti-Israeli sentiment.
What happened that liberal guy with the same Star of David logo that you do? I'd much rather hear his opinion on this. - WoollyMittens, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7You can't nuke an ideology. The only thing you can do, is to make sure they blow their own ***** up instead of yours. Turning two countries into colonies and your own country into a police-state is not worth it.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -5/+12Nobody ever ***** cared about the Iraqis. It's all about the oil and economical and political intimidation against Middle Eastern Countries. Wake up. 9/11 was the best thing that happened to right wing extremists.

Both these sources offer the entire interview, in case you're concerned about context. - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -6/+12So in summation: He's a douchebag.
- spriggig, on 07/09/2008, -4/+10194 days left.
What a horrible mistake we've made. When this man dies I will dance a gig and throw a party. - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -7/+12Buried as inaccurate, politicians NEVER lie.
- shaelen, on 07/09/2008, -1/+6Why do you believe finding Bin Laden or even killing him would make everything ok? Do you somehow think that all aggression will suddenly end? And as far crazy religious Muslim morons blowing themselves up and killing people for no reason.. No reason? Oh that's right, because someone would have no reason to do something like that. They're probably just bored.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -3/+8Dude I want to see the video. No matter ho much I hate Bush I can only take the information from a"Bushbashing" website with a grain of salt. How am I going to know for sure that he said this? How do I know they didn't put words in his mouth to promote their agenda? It's Charlie Rose for crying out loud it has to have video footage! If not, then please list credible sources! You just can't trust anyone these days!
- WindReaver, on 07/09/2008, -2/+6And don't forget the made up story of Iraqis stealing the baby incubators. A story that was told by... The Kuwaiti ambassador's daughter.
- lndmn01, on 07/09/2008, -2/+6Did I miss the part were Maliki asked the US to leave? All I've seen is discussions of a POSSIBLE timetable. Perhaps we should wait until Bush actually lies before the accusations fly....
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -2/+6"I'm sick of always hearing about some crazy religious Muslim moron blowing himself up and killing people for no reason."
Yeah, it's like they didn't ask the US to invade, kill a million people, flatten a few cities and turn the capitol city into a shooting gallery. Ungrateful bastards.
And yes, a million plus people have died there:
http://www.conflictandhealth.com/content/2/1/1 - rz8472, on 07/09/2008, -2/+6Unless we're total dumbasses who deserved getting assraped repeatedly. Figuratively speaking.
- aristideau, on 07/09/2008, -2/+6??? WTF how was that anti-Israeli ???
- cheezintern, on 07/09/2008, -1/+5yep, anything not involved in the US clearing the middle east of all enemies of israel is anti-israeli, as well as anti-semetic, and anti-fluffy bunnies.
- cheezintern, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5..and his pants are on fire
- tellahoohooo, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Your fighting an ideology, this is a war that has no end, no clear cut victory and no rational thought behind it. Unless your rational thought is to have the federal reserve, a completely privatized corporation, create billions and billions of dollars and give it, all at interest, to the actual federal government so they can fund the war. -- "Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws" - Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild -- Handing out no contest contracts to war profiteering contractors and oil companies to profit even further off the death and destruction of innocent men, women and children. So you keep your head held high and continue saying that it's all about Bin Laden being the keystone to this whole arch of terror.
This is about and has always been about money & oil, that's it. The mass media has made sure your ideas are the same by manipulation and a constant barrage of terror terror terror...
-- “We are grateful to the washington post, the new York times, time magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in the past centuries.”
- David Rockefeller --Council on Foreign Relations-- - JByrd, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5Let Israel solve its own ***** problems. We have many of our own here with which to deal. I am not anti-Israel; I am pro-America!
- hokie47, on 07/09/2008, -2/+5What a ***** idiot. He had the perfect out. He could of claimed that he did his job of freeing Iraq and left when Iraq felt they were ready. But no he had to ***** everything up again.
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -3/+6Bush, can we leave Iraq?

Both these sources offer the entire interview, in case you're concerned about context. - LoJack, on 07/09/2008, -1/+4GWB: "We'll stay for as long as necessary, and not one day more." It's well thought out, well in advance. Smart huh?
- ledguitar, on 07/09/2008, -1/+4It wasn't the first time.
- lamiaconfitor, on 07/09/2008, -1/+4Surprise!
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3citation needed
- mmijatov, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2If you voted for Bush, does that make you an accomplice to acts of crimes against humanity?
- spriggig, on 07/09/2008, -2/+4Too bad Bush senior didn't tell his crusading son that.
- thegodfaza, on 07/09/2008, -2/+4I hope your not surprised.
- ShadowFoxxx, on 07/09/2008, -3/+5Of course he stayed, the war is motivated by oil. But that's also very irritating because we have natural oil here in the U.S., in Alaska and California, and so forth.
Iraq wanted us to leave a long time ago, but unfortunately, Bush is a imbecile and lame duck. Is November here yet? - AlienMushroom, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKgPY1adc0A
- Midtowner, on 07/09/2008, -2/+4I don't suppose the authors bothered to check when al-Maliki planned to have the Americans leave? Sometime far after Bush's term? What the hell does Bush have to do with any of this? Why does this article even exist?
- cathl, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3He had faulty intelligence long before he ever spoke with the CIA...
- chrgrose, on 07/09/2008, -3/+5Party at my place, January 20th, 2009.
- JByrd, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3Okay 666timer...I don't care if Maliki says stay, go or anything else and I really couldn't care less about his authority or lack thereof. Enough damage has been done to our soldiers and innocent Iraqi women and the list goes on and on and on.... How about we make the decision ourselves and just ***** leave already. Good enough?
- gofalcons, on 07/09/2008, -4/+6Of course, our "intrests" have nothing to do with Iraq or the Iraqi people. "We'll tell them when we're leaving and they'll shut the hell up and like it!" - The Bush Administration
- cmartinu, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3The fact he has mentioned a withdrawl timetable means that the war is being won by the Coalition. Thats fantastic news and to everyone who dosn't like the war must now think thats a good thing to see the Iraq has its own government and own police presence. Plus most of the killings are stopping.
