- kd420, on 07/05/2008, -13/+146I hate how he patronizingly talks about free speech while she's heckling him. At least some people are willing to tell it how it is, despite the consequences. If anything, it at least spoiled the mood of the event for Bush, tainting the "America is fine" image he tried to paint.
- hobophobe, on 07/05/2008, -11/+121"To my fellow citizens-to-be: we believe in free speech in the United States of America," the President said as the woman is detained. At least they didn't taze her, though.
Also, had to downgrade from the Flash 10 beta back to Flash 9 to be able to watch the video:
"This CNN.com feature is optimized for Adobe Flash Player version 8 or higher.
You are currently using Flash Player 10" - danfive555, on 07/05/2008, -10/+103Bush should have said, "Don't Heckle Me Bro."
- BowieX, on 07/05/2008, -6/+87I think when your approval rating hits and stays below 30%, people who don't heckle should be removed from the scene.
- MrRobotoSki, on 07/05/2008, -11/+88Bush has the audacity to quote our founding fathers? That's criminal in it's own right. He would literally wipe his ass with the Constitution if he could.
- lethaloption, on 07/05/2008, -11/+83bush deserves so much more negative devices than heckling
- killarneptune, on 07/04/2008, -13/+85wearing a goofy hat and shirt w/ red, white, and blue makes me more patriotic than you.......suck on that mr. bush
- Carv, on 07/05/2008, -5/+66The guy has the highest disapproval rating of any president in modern history. He's going to get heckled at any speech he makes (in the country, at least).
Remember when the McCain/Bush fundraiser was moved to a private venue because they thought there would be more protesters than supporters there? - themastersb, on 07/05/2008, -4/+62Bush is going on about how people are entitled to free speech as they're dragged away and silenced.
- Alchematron, on 07/04/2008, -55/+98Bush is a Nazi who has done more to destroy America than any other!

- babakdigg, on 07/05/2008, -1/+39war criminal. Belongs in front of a guantanamo tribunal to get a taste of his own medicine.
- santaliqueur, on 07/05/2008, -8/+40Nobody should be defending our idiot president, but to compare him to Nazis is embarrassing. Millions of people were intentionally extinguished by the Nazis. Bush has done lots of things to harm this country, but don't compare his actions to the extermination of millions.
- mojoel, on 07/05/2008, -7/+38"We believe in free speech," he says. As they haul her away.
- Brad324, on 07/05/2008, -0/+31the real news should be that the rest of the crowd sat there politely. This man has treated his citizens with nothing but contempt. He deserves no respect.
- SpinningHead, on 07/05/2008, -4/+33She couldn't have picked a better location than Monticello. Jefferson's ghost was probably smiling as she heckled the tyrant.
- i1a7338, on 07/05/2008, -29/+57Freedom of speech does not necessarily mean freedom to disrupt.
- evilgourmet, on 07/05/2008, -10/+33Someone should have done a "citizens' arrest" for war crimes/ crimes against humanity.
- Waiting2awake, on 07/05/2008, -2/+26Amazing isn't it? You tend to piss off people when you start illegal wars, kill hundreds of thousands over lies, spy on your own population, torture people, have secret prisons, etc, etc, etc
Seriously - where does she get off huh? /S
WTF is wrong with you? These people are patriots to the sinking ship called the U.S.A - you should be on your knees thanking these people because they are the only ones in between you being permanently on your knees to your government. - whitecranberry, on 07/05/2008, -5/+28Rules by Kings, Ruled by Corporations and Special Interests, WTF IS THE DIFFERENCE!?? You're all ***** slaves, the only thing that has changed is the face of your captor.
- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -1/+23"Being loud doesn't make you right"
Being right does. The protesters are right. - inactive, on 07/05/2008, -0/+20Tell that to Martin Luther King, disrupting tyranny and oppression is no crime.
- 4sakenaiden, on 07/05/2008, -3/+22it's great to see people taking a stand, no matter how big or small
- mohsenxp, on 07/05/2008, -3/+20I love how politicians play the 'ah yes, this protestor can do what he/she wants and I don't mind because we have freedom of speech' card which ALWAYS receives an applause from the crowd (***** sheep) which drowns out the protestor. Irony? Maybe.
- willywalloo, on 07/05/2008, -3/+20I DONT' GET IT.
"Here, in America, We believe in free speech."
With the first impression of Bush saying that, I got the idea that he was saying he had the right to give free speech. And yet that lady was pulled out of the crowd. So surely he wasn't talking about her rights.
Bush has though, on more than one-hundred counts given himself the right to be a dumbass. Even in the category of speech giving. - inactive, on 07/05/2008, -2/+18Bush is a douche pig.
- sarge96, on 07/05/2008, -1/+17Mmmmm... they kinda just grabbed her and pushed her out of the rally. And these days, how else can you get public officials to listen without doing something drastic sometimes?
- BarbArt, on 07/05/2008, -21/+36I spent a festive Independence Day with family and friends, BBQ, & fireworks. There was a lot of laughter and sharing. Much of the conversation was about the upcoming election, and thankfully, most of that was excited talk about electing Obama. Now, watching this video, I am reminded about the many times this past 7 years that I have been embarrassed by what comes out of the White House.
I am so proud of what's happening now and look forward to the changes that are coming. I have been embarrassed, angry, and ashamed. I haven't had a good opportunity to protest, but I've damn well wanted to. - emkaysmith, on 07/05/2008, -1/+16Are you out of your mind? Why do you think Cheney had himself picked for the VP slot? Snuff Bush, Cheney suspends the Constitution completely, and anyone who ever voted Democratic and doesn't wear a flag pin will be in a concentration camp.
- sarge96, on 07/05/2008, -1/+17That's what Dennis Kucinich tried to do, but nobody in Congress has any balls and the American people are too stupid to care.
- Waiting2awake, on 07/05/2008, -3/+19"I haven't had a good opportunity to protest, but I've damn well wanted to."
Me thinks you lie. The time to protest is when something wrong is happening, you clearly knew something wrong was happening - you CHOSE not to.
Lets not have anymore excuses for anyone. The US is in the mess because the US population was laying down on the job. American soldiers have been killed, because American civilians were too pre-occupied with talent shows to care about why they were being sent to fight. The buck stops at the American civilians. A.K.A you.
I hope you are right about Obama - I don't share your feelings. But your choices are what brought your country to this point, and choices will either condemn you there, or get you out of there...
The only question is whether Obama is willing to lead change - or is he, like the democrat congress prior to him, merely saying what the public wants to hear?
- emkaysmith, on 07/05/2008, -1/+16Well, Nixon was forced to resign. Remember? Reagan was more subtle, though his actions were just as illegal. He was also "prettier" and more photogenic than Nixon. And his administration led to the present xenophobic imperialism, so, yeah, I'd say we're now well on the way to a thoroughly authoritarian state. And if McCain and his arrogance and ungovernable temper get into office, we're gonna slip another few rungs down the ladder.
- inactive, on 07/06/2008, -0/+14I live in Charlottesville where this took place.
There was a guy, shown on the local news, that stood up during the speech and yelled "***** YOUU!".
It was so damn funny. - Rotzooi, on 07/05/2008, -3/+17Why we haven't gotten rid of this ***** of a President, I'll never understand. Had this been a European administration, the government would haven fallen three months into Bush' presidency.
We respect the Office of the President way too much - and Bush abused that respect. - Waiting2awake, on 07/05/2008, -0/+14WOW, an internet tough guy. Threating to punch out the teeth of a woman. Home of the brave indeed.
- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -2/+15This is a bad way to protest.
The best way to protest is be professional when I protest I wear a suit and tie. - emkaysmith, on 07/05/2008, -0/+13You really got the spirit of the Revolution there, Jethro.
- Waiting2awake, on 07/05/2008, -1/+16If not then? When? After the next war? The next stolen election? The next Anthrax mailed letter? The next tortured human?
The time and place was years ago - you should be thanking them for finally doing something in the least, and offering to help them(or other groups).
If these people had been around when the worse thing Bush was accused of was stealing an election.... Ahhh those heady days of yesteryear. - jayb1rd, on 07/05/2008, -0/+13Our independence and ability to form our own government gave us such rights as free speech, so good for her.
I'm glad this is in the media. Other countries can see we don't all love this idiot we call president. - lukeb1222, on 07/06/2008, -0/+13Like impeachment?
- TurdZilla, on 07/05/2008, -2/+14HAHA...... I was waiting for someone to say "Tar & Feather him" (John Adams TV series style)
Kinda surprised more ppl didn't interrupt bush. - JigoroKano, on 07/05/2008, -0/+12Anyone who gives a ***** about this country should be angry.
- fluxion, on 07/05/2008, -0/+12just like they "asked" the guy in the uncle sam hat to leave by pulling him right down off his chair and pulling him out of there.
i know its common to remove disruptive individuals from any variety of public events, but lets put away the Bush goggles here. - inactive, on 07/05/2008, -0/+13There is plenty of room between a "savior" and George W Dumbass. Obama can simply NOT be a total disaster and it will be a huge improvement.
- Ansem, on 07/05/2008, -3/+15Take that Bush.
- Nintendesert, on 07/05/2008, -2/+12Maybe you should step up to the line and do something.
- lisaawesome, on 07/05/2008, -2/+12When it's President Bush talking about how we love free speech in America then yes he deserves to be yelled at and jeered. I am generally miss manners and hate when people are rude ***** but this man does not deserve our respect. When our elected officials won't listen to their constituents when we are civil and respectful then what else are we supposed to do? Sit by the wayside while our country gets sodomized by a giant dick brigade?
- inactive, on 07/05/2008, -0/+10There is less nobility in being an ass sucking apologist for a war criminal.
- EricSchC1, on 07/05/2008, -0/+10"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it."
