- VIrus9, on 10/10/2007, -5/+62At least he can't do as much damage on vacation as he can when he's actually working.
- wittyname, on 10/10/2007, -6/+38When you have everthing under control at home and overseas, why not take a week off?
- luther70, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26Didn't Bush get the Briefing titled "Bin Laden determined to strike in US" While on vacation?
- Heracles, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23I think Bush's brain has already checked out and is on permanent vacation.
- craigm01, on 10/10/2007, -13/+32Although i am very Anti-Bush, i can't find fault with where he choses to work from. Even when he is at his ranch, or wherever, he's still president, and im sure it's still a 24/7/365 job. Americans, in general, spend to much time at "the office".
Criticisms like this give the "anti-bush" crowd, a petty, and overly critical, stereotype. - Dumbledorito, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12They take away his phone?
- Rfriaz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7...Sounds like a good idea.
- carpespasm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I wouldn't count it as vacation if he's just 'telecommuting' and does the same workload he would otherwise have in the oval office, can't fault that. but that said, i'd want to know how much work he's actually doing. You work for us bushie. or at least you were supposed to.... whatever.....
- penguinshome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I thought that it said "Vatican President" and was like WTF.
- hiphoc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Cheney is the one we need to take more vacations.
- YourDoom123, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Reagan
he held 2 terms. - p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6What the ***** could Bush possibly be doing? Calculus? I would "love" to see what kind of day is a work day for Bush, seeing as the man can't even form complete sentences.
- wm2010russ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3i thought reagan had two...
- Alathea, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah, but vacations or not, I have more respect for Reagan than I ever will for Bush.
- schrutefan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Somehow I don't think President Cheney minds.
- p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4/sarcasm
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Oh, get over yourself.
I hate Bush and anyone else who is an extremist. You want to be President? You work your ass off. It comes with the job, especially when you've got a war YOU started still going on (and going badly, I might add), so you should be spending even less time on vacation, working or not.
I'm gonna Digg you down, not cause of your libertarian views, but because your "woe-is-me, I'm a libertarian on Digg so no one likes me" comment. - DivisibleByZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Such a dumb thing to get upset about. The idea that the President ever really goes on vacation is pretty laughable. It's not like he'd just sit there and say "I'm out of the office until Tuesday. Have Dick cover for me." when something goes wrong.
(In other words: Everybody knows that even from vacation he's still actively making things worse) - p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2***** Fox, ***** the old media
- Alphabet, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5you can't compare bush to reagan though. Reagan was in the hospital for a majority of his "vacation" days. bush just vacations nonstop.
- joeshlub, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Your sarcasm, if it were taken out of the context of you being a digg user, would go totally unnoticed. It's impressive how clearly sarcastic it is, yet how easily i can imagine a bush lover saying it...
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+7He's been on vacation since he took office. He is joke,
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6A vacation by any other name...
- DivisibleByZero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2How's that any different than being in the office?
- anj747, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Tempar tempar
- tehbishop, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Diggers might be left for Americans, sure, but not for the world. I like libertarians, I don't think I like ignorance regarding the entire world's political views as a whole instead of just "America" -- it's not actually the whole world, yanno.
- thatmarkguy82, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2With the advances in technology, the President could be on "vacation" 365 days a year.
- chase001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I thought he had already surpassed all other Presidents and had taken more vacation days that any other president in 36 years? Can we dock his pay?
- swingindualism, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3My grandfather James C. Jones was the Detroit Bureau Chief for Newsweek during the 1960s, 70s, and into the 80s. He covered Attica State, Kent State, the Detroit Riots, the '68 Democratic Convention, and just about every other big event in the Midwest during that era. He knew many influential people. While Reagan was governor of California and prepping for his first presidential bid, my grandfather interviewed him and Nancy on a cruise. When he came back - disappointingly assured that Ron would win the presidency - he told his family that Ronald Reagan will not run the country, his cohorts and Nancy will, as they conducted the whole interview. Granted ya'll know this about them already and Bush approaching the record makes perfect sense (as he too is not running the country), but I thought I'd give some bonafide certainty to the lie America is living.
- Kinkistyle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Oh come one, lets be real. I have "telecommuted" and "worked from home" before, and everyone knows you goof off for 90% of the time and only do actual "work" for around an hour or so. And even when you do work, its with the TV on.
- WilliamDavis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3"all of Congress is on 'recess' right now, as is typical in August (wouldn't want to us voters the wrong impression and call it vacation)."
Well, they do act like children, so it's no wonder they prefer to call it recess. - kuzotz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The only person to take vacation time off in the land of no vacations.
- leo78, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Every puppet has to go back in to it's box sometimes!!
- WilliamDavis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Yeah, reminds me of every once in awhile when I say the stupidest thing I can think of at a table full of people. Then, some ***** agrees with me and I have to break it to them that I wasn't serious. (I don't want to hurt their feelings, but I can't let the rest of the people think I was that stupid.)
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wrong Digg article, but we get your point. ;)
- EvilMoose, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Bush sleeps 10-12 hours a night. Most of us don't get that much sleep. Remember when he raised a hissy fit cause he had to go to bed an hour late due to a function?
- rcook18, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Funny to see Bush apologist robots working overtime doing damage control.
- DontGiveADamn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Ronald Reagan had an excuse, he had Alzheimer’s disease. What is President Bush's excuse?
- Dudeee, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Boy, It's tough being a dictator.
- xlondono, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No, Karl Rove is still at the White House.
- AlexWills, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Too bad he doesn't work as hard as one of our greatest presidents, Jimmy Carter.
... Or should a president let his appointed cabinet members do the work in their designated jobs while the president simply assembles their greater knowledge? - diggsIt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I love how these guys are always 'clearing brush', while on vacation.
- digxag, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Did you people ever think that just maybe, with Cheney being all holed up in an undisclosed location, that Bush is LONELY in the White House all by his lonesome?
- caleb4mj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0War is hard work, but at least he takes these vacations so the troops don't have to. Gosh, I just don't know what we'd do without such a patriotic American as our President. I mean just look at what he's done for us. He attacked us on Sep. 11th. so we could see the light and bomb countries for oil. And now on his seventh year he rests.
- TIMMYGOAT, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1You guys are so full of *****. Is this how you think it works...
ring ring: White House, how may I help you?...oh no...I'm sorry the presidents is on vacation. He'll be back in the office at the end of the month...can I take a message...yes...ok..world war three has begun. ummm.. Anything else? Ok I'll make sure he gets that when he returns."
No president is ever really on vacation. His whole staff goes they set up briefing rooms etc. Such simple minded buffoonery on you part. - caleb4mj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Just so you know, 9/11 was an inside job. Molten steel found beneath all 3 buildings 6 weeks after they fell, like lava, so hot and so much energy it could not have come from jet fuel. Look it up this time, please.
- caleb4mj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3060923273573302287
I know. - SweetChinMusic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Woops, *****.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Bush is a creep, terrorist, war criminal, devil, horrific liar and so are the United States Government.
The United States Government does not support the will of the American people, but the corporations that put them in power.
Marvin Bush is a terrorist too.
9-11 was an inside job! What happened to building 7?
