- radix76v2, on 10/11/2007, -3/+19congratulations, USA: you`re now officially a banana republic.
- superRoot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6"Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government.”
-Thomas Jefferson - Declaration of Independence
Clearly the consent of the governed has no influence over this administration's policies. I believe the government has indeed become "destructive of these ends." Therefore, it is our right to do away with both these corrupt corporate interests and these corrupt greedy politicians. This does not have to be bloody, we should ask that those unfit to govern remove themselves from our government. This includes the Bush administration, as well as many Republicans and Democrats in congress. If they do not, I believe it is in our best interests and, as Thomas Jefferson stated, our solemn right (and our DUTY) to forcibly remove those who do not respect the consent of the governed from positions of leadership. This is the best way to move forward if we wish to restore our freedoms and the rule of law. This is not an issue that should be divided among party lines, this is a very clear and present threat to our free society and to the well being of the average American citizen. It is our solemn duty to ensure that our freedoms are restored, it is time to join together, rise up, and take swift action to right the wrongs that have been committed against us. The government may label us "terrorists", but history will label you a true American Patriot. - vawksel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Yeah, but Bush controls the marines.... so... ?
- subliminal727, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4It's official! They've seceded from the USA! CIVIL WAR! Only problem is they don't have any land to secede with. I think they'd be happy with Texas, although i don't think texas would be very happy with them anymore.
- edisonoside, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3We have as much power over Bush as the Iraqi people had over Saddam when he was dictator.....nothing! Maybe another country should help us overthrow Bushco?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Lincoln was in an actual war.
- Tarnum, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5"Absolute monarchy is a monarchical form of government where the monarch has the power to rule his or her land or country and its citizens freely, WITH NO LAWS or legally organized direct opposition in force...."
"These new monarchs claimed to be responsible solely to God..."
(Absolute monarchy @ Wiki) - brianbennett, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Yeah, and why wasn't Lincoln hung for incarcerating his political opponents?
- MacintoshSauce, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Will someone please impeach these self-serving bastards? No wonder Vermont wants out of the Union...
- epohs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2He is of course using fear mongering to justify his unchecked power and people are falling for it. What we need is an eloquent person with a substantial platform to be heard to explain why bypassing our system of checks & balances is ultimately more dangerous to our nation than the people he is telling us to fear.
Once that president has been set, future administrations will feel more comfortable conglomerating more and more power under less and less dire circumstances. Which could quite likely lead to a breakdown of our system of government. - chiggah, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Bush/Cheney are notorious for secrecy that makes Nixon looks honest. Honestly this is nothing new, since the moment they step in the White House.
they've been doing w/e they can to cover up their past. If anyone here been paying attention to the amount of lawsuit against Cheney (which all has been stonewall, appeal until it reach the Supreme Court which loyal Conservative judges throw it out before you can say ***** off). It doesn't take a lot to realize how This administration effectively break down our system of Checks and Balance. Conservative Executive Branch, which hand picked Conservative Judge (justice department is way too involve with political games...), and with 2 terms Republican majority Senate(and a majorly divided one now). Basically even if there are legit cause for impeachment, no branch of our government can/will do a thing. Of course, don't expect anyone willing to sacrifice their fortune and political career for the American people. - CourtesyFlush, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It seems a chimp has outsmarted the Democrats......again.
Just listen to them screech and make empty threats.....as they always do.
Some things never change. - dbxuau, on 10/11/2007, -2/+32008... almost there. just pray its not hillary =)
- subliminal727, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1owned. wish i could still double digg comments...that was funny as hell though
- philz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Home of the free, land of the brave.
Wait, what? - BevansDesign, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3All hail King ***** Bush.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+6Why doesn't someone just shoot this man and get it over with ?
- skulljar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'm down. Ooh-rah, kill! Maybe General Zinni is ready to lead us.
- skulljar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Good luck getting past Secret Service.
- mixelplfft, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1go ahead, get started. organize and take action. if you do not rise up and ACT / DEMONSTRATE / PROTEST / BE SEEN, it is as if you approve of their actions of dismantling the government as it once was.
- oblivinated, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Against his own people.
- bobbybobington, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1When it comes to policy I occasionally agree with the president, but this administration has REPEATEDLY violated the constitution and plain decency. It has gotten to the point where its not a partisan issue and thats what the polls show. I used to support him, but after this kind of garbage and lies im thoroughly disgusted. They aren't interested in the good of the american people, they're only interested in their own benefit.
- sonaro, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Would someone please be a "patsy?"
- howiehedd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Too bad we don't have a constitution anymore....
We could use one now... - thegnode, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is why we need Ron Paul. Someone who is NOT power hungry. Someone who will use their power to revoke said power.
- sephiroth965, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Who is watching the watchers? NOONE!
- MeanGeno, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0So this president is an idiot, and he doesn't know the constitution and laws?
If this retard is president, then I can be a freaking astronaut! - metasense, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Hey now! careful there, your insulting the mentally challeged.
I'm sure they would have nothing to do with this neanderthal in a suit. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I sure hope Sen. Leaky Leahy isn't part of the "independent federal watchdog" group or our national secrets will be all over the front page of the New York Times..........
- MeanGeno, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0We have to suffer to January 20, 2009 with this guy????? Why, oh God, WHY!!!!!!!!!!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Memo to MadN: When you say things like the "outing of Valerie Plame" you're in essence telling everyone "LOOK!! I'M AN IDIOT!!!"
You can't "out" a desk jockey.... - metasense, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0God is precisely why.
He has a direct line to Bush's office remember?
Just another case of how easily manipulated the religious masses can be.
Vote for me...I'm a good Christian..heh heh. - nytive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0If the both of them are not doing anything wrong, then why not submit the reports.
- MadN, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1And they really do not want to talk of the treasonous "outing" of Valerie Plame.
I would not call it "outing", I call it Treason during a time of War. - edisonoside, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0They might get Anthraxed again?
- edisonoside, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2RON PAUL!! Hillary should also be removed and all who gained from 9/11!
- MalDON, on 10/11/2007, -5/+4Is it me, or is the same story a few more articles down?
- papashawn, on 10/11/2007, -5/+4I understand dupes happen, but come on, the original story hasn't left the front page yet!.
On a similar note, I don't understand how sites like Raw Story get so many hits just by publishing other people's news.
Lastly, f*ck Bush up his stupid ass. - HexeL, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Does anyone remember, after 9/11 having happened, that Rudolph Giuliani tried to stay beyond his term as mayor? I have a gut feeling that Bush will strike Iran with the purpose of doing the very same thing under NSPD-51.
There are good people in our government that would not hesitate to take this administration down if they could. This man and Richard Cheney must be using the CIA or some other secret agency to get the goods on every single member of congress.
It just makes no sense that these two have not yet been impeached. They're traitors and they're war criminals. - cuoops, on 10/11/2007, -6/+5ummm, same story about 3 down from this on the front page....dupe
- Toshibi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Why would the Democrats want to give up this level of power? What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
- numbnuts, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1"Bush - Cheyney - Iraq - global warming - BAD ... arrrg ...... whine ...... snivel" ---- where have I heard this 1,000 times before (and thats just the last 2 hours ha ha ha) ... try Reddit, Digg, NPR, NBC, CNN or any other mainstream news channel ha ha ha ..... good lord I think the US population is totally de-sensitized to this constant sniveling about "Bush - Cheyney - Iraq - global warming - BAD ... arrrg" ... did I mention --- I am a pirate Arrrrrg ! -- Ha ha ha ha
