Bush Holds New Law Hostage - Wants Telco Immunity

washingtonpost.com — Bush is refusing to sign any new wiretapping law unless it specifically has language granting retroactive immunity to companies like AT&T who assisted the government with their illegal spying program. Last I checked, issues of wiretapping regulation and special purpose acts like granting immunity are separate. How is this not blackmail?
