- toddcat, on 03/14/2008, -4/+226What an insult to all the troops who have been damaged in war and those who have died. Only a person who blew off his military service would offer up such sentimental bunk about the romanticism of war. What a disgusting man.
- franklymister, on 03/14/2008, -5/+206This man must have the most serious irony deficiency in history.
""I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines..."
Hey George, you HAD a chance to fight in a war, remember? What was that you were doing while poorer, less connected kids were fighting in Vietnam, again? - inactive, on 03/14/2008, -7/+133I'm know I'm not the first to say it, but Dubya is a clueless dork.
- homedaddy, on 03/14/2008, -5/+127he can have his own romantic adventure in only 302 days. he should take the first plane to Kabul on 1/10/09.
- blakeley, on 03/14/2008, -3/+104He could always send his daughters...
- keithgplayer, on 03/14/2008, -2/+60Sure Bush is envious, considering that time he spent in Vietnam... oh wait...
- cnot3, on 03/14/2008, -1/+55"War is delightful to those who have had no experience of it." - Erasmus
and yeah, I did get it from Medieval 2: Total War - swaddict, on 03/14/2008, -3/+57i say, let him go, take dick with him, go all out and do the whole tour
- philodygmn, on 03/14/2008, -5/+56File with Tom DeLay's asking two Katrina refugees if what they were doing was fun:
http://www.boingboing.net/2005/09/10/katrina-headl ... - MacEnvy, on 03/14/2008, -0/+40He could have had his own adventure 35 years ago, but instead his daddy got him a sweet domestic pilot's position. Which he went AWOL from.
Quite the hero, Mr. Bush. - dupswapdrop, on 03/14/2008, -2/+38Yes I just bet mr bush would like to give his legs or his life in his romantic war. But you know someone needs to stay home and spend all that money.
- martalli, on 03/14/2008, -2/+38God, the irony is so rich. Couldn't he hear the words as they came out of his mouth?
- inactive, on 03/14/2008, -3/+38george bush is a complete idiot, without recourse the most ineffective leader this nation has ever known. He is the worst president now and future, if America has a future after him. His supporters should be out shopping and not sniffing out ways to fight his civil war, the one right here in America between his blind brown shirt followers (worshipers) and REAL freedom lovers who don't like his war or his spying.
- omnithought, on 03/14/2008, -2/+34You know what, Bush? I agree! I'll even buy your plane ticket. Off to basic training with you!
- inactive, on 03/14/2008, -2/+33That's too kind....
- trunkster, on 03/14/2008, -2/+29He really thinks it's just like the movies..
- nitsnipe, on 03/14/2008, -3/+30Bush listen, you already have earned yourself a leagcy as one of the worst American presidents.
Now please, either shut the ***** up until your term is over, or bring the troops home. NOW. - inactive, on 03/14/2008, -7/+33ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.........ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ......ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....brown shirt sieg heil!
- inactive, on 03/14/2008, -2/+27I am sure there will be no lack of patriots to chip in for a one way ticket...

Helping this young democracy succeed? Are you kidding me? Afghanistan will still give death sentences to people who attempt to leave Islam, and women are just as oppressed there as ever. Is that what we're sending our soldiers to die for? No; we went there to secure fuel pipeline routes. If people think the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are about establishing democracy, they need to get a clue. See this clip, where a former cabinet member of the Bush admin reveals that the war was planned long before 9/11, with oil maps on the table and lists of foreign suitors for Iraqi oil field contracts in consideration:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inyCkCvqRO0 - MacSuxWindozSux, on 03/14/2008, -2/+26When it has his turn for duty, the "War Time President" was AWOL.
But he's aok sending other people to die. - inactive, on 03/14/2008, -3/+26You guys are lucky my friends are holding me back, or I'd be kicking all your asses right now.
*hold me back guys, hold me back... hurry up! - digginmygrave, on 03/14/2008, -0/+22don't speak on my behalf please.
- brufleth, on 03/14/2008, -2/+23Correction, you didn't have a choice if you were middle or lower class. If you were wealthy enough and/or had the right last name you had a choice too.
- dheaddy, on 03/14/2008, -2/+22Bush isn't big on 'reality' is he?
- otakushark, on 03/14/2008, -5/+25I'm surprised you can type with your tongue that far up his cowardly ass.
- bowens44, on 03/14/2008, -1/+21He had his chance during the Vietnam war and he made damn sure that he wasn't anywhere near it.
The president is a lying, hypocritical *****. But we all knew that. - ispshadow, on 03/14/2008, -1/+20If you were so envious, you should have taken my cousin's place, my roommate's place, two of my fellow NCOs, and any other military member that has been killed so far.
- jstohler, on 03/14/2008, -2/+21It is too kind. He's actually borderline evil. Read any of the books of Bush, like Jacob Weisberg's "The Bush Tragedy," and you'll be scared that such a person can be handed the keys to a car, much less a country.
- Look4Truth, on 03/14/2008, -3/+22Protecting the drug trade and blowing up civilians...yep sounds great. Now, who else wants some? Iran? Syria? Yep, yer next! We're not gonna stop til the globe is one big glass parking lot. YEEHAAA!
- WoollyMittens, on 03/14/2008, -1/+19Bush apparently had.
- inactive, on 03/14/2008, -6/+23Zeig heil!
- inactive, on 03/14/2008, -3/+20Because they read other things that what the msm shove down your throat. Shouldn't you be watching sports?
- jaymzdean, on 03/14/2008, -5/+22And you are a fascist.
Kill....yourself. - jforjools, on 03/14/2008, -6/+23He must be getting to be close in age to Gerry Ferraro...Just about as smart as saying a black man running for president is here he is cuz he's 'lucky'.
W: You sound even crazier than Gerry. Can't wait til you're 'retired'!!! - Optimus, on 03/14/2008, -0/+17Oh *****, you think very little of yourself. Please believe in your abilities as a human being.
- ronoverton, on 03/14/2008, -0/+17It's really too bad his total disconnect from reality. Folks, W was a draft dogger during vietnam - same as quayle. Back then they didn't seen reserves, nor the national guard and because we had a universal draft, they were the escape route. However, they were so popular that you couldn't get in unless you had connections - like W and Quayle.
Draft dodging whore,

3/68-11.69 - martalli, on 03/14/2008, -3/+20I read the whole reuters article. He calls fighting in Afghanistan "romantic". My grandfather fought in WWII. He almost never talked about it. When I pestered him about WWII one day, and he brought out his bronze star to show me. My father was shocked - in twenty years of living at the house, he never even knew my grandpa had won a bronze star, let alone having seen it. My impression of war is that it is not romantic - my grandfather's experience only cements that. Maybe Dubya's war experience was different...
- inactive, on 03/14/2008, -0/+16borderline? Bush is a sociopath and so is every single mouth breathing idiot that voted for him.
- pintomp3, on 03/14/2008, -1/+17don't forget barbara bush saying the katrina refugees were better off since they were "underprivileged anyway"
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/07/national/nationa ... - TheDude213, on 03/14/2008, -4/+19He doesn't love america, he loves enterprise, him and his horde of devil worshiping, drug pushing, thieving cohorts use the words democracy and freedom in the place of capitalism. WE ARE ONLY AT WAR FOR FINANCIAL BENEFIT OF THE MOST WEALTHY AND POWERFUL OF THIS COUNTRY. We're 'defending freedom' from a 3rd world country, which is about the equivalent of you walking up to a gerbil and kicking the ***** out of it. Deal with it and grow up. Put your bible down for 5 seconds and OPEN YOUR EYES.
- JoeVet, on 03/14/2008, -1/+16"I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed." "It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks," Bush said.
What about those statements is not romanticizing war? - TheDude213, on 03/14/2008, -2/+16If he is so enthralled by military combat, then maybe he shouldn't have gone awal when he was in the military.
- Kerrigore, on 03/14/2008, -0/+14I read the whole things on Reuters, I passed reading comprehension in school, and I still think he was romanticizing war.
- Bushlied, on 03/14/2008, -1/+14Yea, he was all about the first 5 times he went UA (unauthorized Leave). Never showing up for his National Guard Duty must of really made him feel he was missing out on something adventurous. ***** George Bush ands his Chickenhawk fascism. Oh Georgie will get his....
- Hangly, on 03/14/2008, -2/+14Someone shoot this ***** in the head.
- inactive, on 03/14/2008, -4/+16bush is a bloody butcher who lusts oil and power, he is a coward that did not serve his country when the Vietnam adventure was available to him, and he has no right to comment on soldiers as he himself never was one. Calling himself "employed" is a joke because he screws up everything he touches. I we want out of this war, put him in charge of the opposing forces and they will see their resources dry up, their citizens hate him, and their currency will plummet. bush has the my ass touch.
- JMellissa, on 03/14/2008, -2/+14GREAT! Let's send him to the front to be shot by his own men!
- JoeVet, on 03/14/2008, -1/+13Apparantly the Bush apologists are again trying to revise history. The original Reuters story as well as the Huffington report clearly states he was in a video conference with American military and civilian personnel, not Iraqi. His comments about how "romantic" it was to fight this war was directed at our troops. RTFA
- jxfallout, on 03/14/2008, -0/+11Hey now, it's not his fault that he was busy doing lines of cocaine and driving while drunk...
