- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -8/+123BushCo has no problems with rape and murder, as long as they are perped by Bush-allied war profiteers.
- bleuwolfe, on 01/05/2008, -9/+99How can anyone with an IQ over 12 defend these people. Republicans have no moral high ground, in fact they have no morals period. Their god is $$$$$$$$$$ and they will lie, steal, murder, rape, cheat, and anything else to get their vile hands on the power lever. How can anyone be a republican today? How? BTW these same thugs are dealing away our Artic wildernes today. That should make you really proud.
- rcorrino, on 01/05/2008, -2/+31Ehh..... This government has been raping the entire country for the last 8 or so years. What's another person to them....
Damn I love this country and it's people but I ***** hate it's government. - daoism, on 01/05/2008, -2/+29No big surprise. "Responding" to these allegations means admitting these types of inhuman crimes happened on their watch at their companies. So it's best to put their heads in the sand and stay in that perpetual state of denial then blend into obscurity (with their secured pensions and lobbying contracts)--- when the American public forgets about it like the rest of their crimes.
Case in point: Do you know what Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, Wolfowitz, Bremer, Libby, Gonzales, or any other Bush cronies are doing these days? You should be a bit curious since your tax dollars are supporting their retirement.... - ashnbell, on 01/05/2008, -1/+28This was over 2 years ago, so she'd have been 20 at most at the time she was drugged, gang raped, and then held against her will by the comany that you so rightly point out has a lot of blood on it's hands. If she'd not managed to get one of the people who'd been assigned as her effective jailors to let her call someone back home, the comany would have in all liklihood found a way of keeping her story from leaving iraq (as you point out, they don't exactly shy away from killing people).
Do you really think she deserved what she got, irrespective of her intentions when signing up for the job?
Since the event itself she's started a some kind of non profit organisation charity type thing to help victims of sexual abuse working overseas for us companies (that's from memory so the exact title may be a bit different) which she's dontating any settlemnet from her court case to. On top of that she's also causing a load of bad publicty for Halliburton/KBR... and I know that one of their employees geting raped and their response to this of effectively kidnapping her, is nothing in comparison to the rest of the crimes they've commited, but the the fact remains (tragic as it is) that this sort of thing is a more potent weapon against them than any number of grieving iraquis protesting the companys actions. - jussipupu, on 01/05/2008, -6/+25It's not Bush's fault. She should accept Jesus. It's the terrorists fault. What would Jesus do. It's god's punishment because Amerika likes gay people.
Seriously, When you let religious nutjob fundamentalists run your country, WTF do you expect? A wide stance. Gimme a freakin break. - verbose, on 01/05/2008, -2/+21This should really be made clear to the evangelical base of the Republican voting block. Sooner or later, their morality will have to see that gang-rape, torture, unconstitutional wire-tapping, lying to create a war, ignoring the flooding of a US city, propping up thieving energy and infrastructure businesses like Enron and Halliburton, and killing thousands of brown-skinned people are collectively worse than gay marriage and choice.
- nicholai, on 01/05/2008, -3/+21This is really shocking to me.
- BinaryDelt, on 01/05/2008, -1/+19This is what ANGRY feels like.
- purpmint008, on 01/05/2008, -7/+25"I went to support Operation Iraqi Freedom."
You got what you asked for.
She should be given justice.
However, people in the military and military-industrial complex have to understand that they are nothing more than tools for profit. - stutimandal, on 01/05/2008, -1/+19What is happening to America? A fore-bearer of democracy in other war occupied countries is not worried about its own citizen?
- pintomp3, on 01/05/2008, -1/+17yeah, and she locked herself in a shipping container too. you are an idiot.
- Frostman3D, on 01/05/2008, -0/+16They need to do something about this ASAP. WTF is going on in this country?
- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -0/+16There will be no justice until the citizens of this country accept responsibility.
- stillasleep00, on 01/05/2008, -0/+15She's a brave girl to continue to fight this
- pintomp3, on 01/05/2008, -1/+14umm, the allegations at haditha were true. and it wasn't an "incident" like some fender bender, it was a massacre.
- charmaniac, on 01/05/2008, -1/+13Bush will regret the hostility and deceptiveness that characterize his presidency. Every time he goes into a cafe and is greeted by icy stares, every time he is introduced at a stadium and is booed, every time he gives a speech and no one takes ANYTHING he says seriously, he will be reminded that it was a result of his own lies.
He will die isolated and alone, all the faithful who used to love him will despise him. I hope it was worth it.
All we can do is move forward. There will be investigations, there will be convictions, there will be long prison sentences. However, it is in our best interest to keep moving forward. Vote in 2008 and you will be swept up in the wave of historical change that will reposition our country as the world's symbol of freedom and democracy. - pintomp3, on 01/05/2008, -1/+13with her permission.
- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -1/+13Speaking as an independent, I wonder how anyone can be a member of either party. Both parties are all about raping the wealth of the people for their prescribed agenda. Both parties throw scraps of the spoils to their constituents while pissing on the US Constitution.
If people would snap out of this false left/right paradigm they'd see the same puppet masters are pulling the strings. - ...---..., on 01/05/2008, -4/+15You insensitive *****. Nobody "deserves" that. Agreed on your opinions on Halibuton, CIA and the administration - but jesus you're a dick for even saying she deserved to be brutally raped.
- hmugabe, on 01/05/2008, -0/+10Not a hit with the ladies I see.
You sir are the definition of *****. - feckineejit, on 01/05/2008, -0/+10b-b-but clinton! is that all you republicons have to say?
- scabbers, on 01/05/2008, -0/+9imjgalt what parallel universe are you from? Haditha turned out to be true. I can only assume you're a troll.
- CrimsonFate, on 01/05/2008, -3/+12Yes, she's attractive, and yes, you're tasteless and a meme slut.
- crazywarthog, on 01/05/2008, -0/+8All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.
Adolf Hitler - Izult, on 01/05/2008, -1/+7so i'm guessing if it was your daughter you'd be totally ok with it because after all she worked for them and therefore got what she deserved.
Show a little sensitivity here ffs. - an0nymous, on 01/05/2008, -1/+7You are a *****.
- lapster44, on 01/05/2008, -3/+9I find the tone of most of these responses to have little compassion for Jamie Leigh Jones and more interest in beating the dead horse called BushCo.
Where's your compassion? - netsql, on 01/05/2008, -1/+7This is disgusting. We were all raped, and we are still getting raped.
- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -0/+6She said in the video she had to get reconstructive surgery on her breasts. They must have really ***** her up...
- johnpaul191, on 01/05/2008, -5/+11*****! Ron Paul has said he will do what he can as president to stop abortions. That's taking the rights away from women on the basis of some cult. Saying he protects women from abortion is like saying that government spying is protecting us from ourselves.
He also says he can not support the theory of evolution because there is not enough scientific basis, so he sticks with creationism. WHAT?!?!?!?!
In some way he may be the lesser of the Republic evils...... but his ass-backwards religious priorities overpower any possible positive political ideas he has. - hmugabe, on 01/05/2008, -4/+10I'm so angry I could rape Bush!
- ZenMojo, on 01/05/2008, -0/+6Because the Department of Justice is an executive agency whose head is appointed by the president and whose duty is to investigate these matters. While Congress can hold hearings on these matters, It's just a mite unconstitutional for Congress to preemptively investigate issues that the Department hasn't yet ignored. Now that the Department has ignored the issue and as soon as it is clear there is no interest in investigating, then Congress can step in and take it up. Until then, it's a bit presumptuous to run around investigating every issue before the Department of Justice, the appropriate venue for this, has had a chance to.
- UrinalPooper, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5So a stripper gets a full-blown media circus over what turned out to be a baseless allegation and this women gets shunned? Where the %(& is NOW? Where the %(*& is the DNC? Where is anyone other than some bloggers on this one?
Unless it is all BS, in which case I reckon I'll feel pretty silly. - Samarobrin, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5I have a great deal of compassion about this very brave young woman. I'm even more astonished at her courage at standing up for her self against all odds. I think what you are seeing in these responses are a general feeling of frustration and helplessness that any of the agencies and individuals who should be taking responsibility and correcting the situation simply will not. For them this is just another crime to be ignored. Ugly people have brutally changed the course of this woman's life but even uglier people just don't care.
- bbqsalad, on 01/05/2008, -1/+6Wow, I hate our government. Pathetic.
- ShnowDoggie, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5What about the rape kit the army used? That showed she was raped multiple times. And all physical damage? I wouldn't be surprised if your just an ignorant ass.
- tidu, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5You guys are almost as bad as the grammar nazis... Yeah, we're not a pure democracy, but we're democratic. a lot more democratic than the nations we're invading. I'm not justifying the invasions, I'm just saying that we can spread democratic ideas without being a pure democracy.
- ShnowDoggie, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5How else can she deal with what happened? Perhaps she is dealing with all this by focusing effort into getting justice and bringing light to the situation. Who knows how she is when she is out of the spotlight. At some point she probably has to mentally detach from it all. Would you feel better if she tried to kill herself?
- enri, on 01/05/2008, -1/+6We are all tools for someone's profit. What does that have to do with this woman's case? She was raped, held hostage and refused medical attention. KBR destroyed the evidence. Our government -- HER government -- refuses to persecute anyone for said crimes. I am guinuinely disgusted by the whole thing.
Your apathy allows these asses to continue their exploitation unchecked. - MadN, on 01/05/2008, -2/+7Does a rape trump a Blow Job?
Can we impeach now? - HentaiJeff, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5I'm acting astonished
- sirmo, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5Because you have experience with being brutally raped 2 years ago?
I say good for her that after enduring what was done to her she can still be normal. - inactive, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5That was really funny! not.
- fuckingusername, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5sad I hope she gets justice and all the people involved should be in a over crowded jail prison like they have in California
- Samarobrin, on 01/05/2008, -0/+4What's the deal with not showing up before congressional investigating bodies? Subpoena? Hah! If anyone at Bushco doesn't want to show they don't have to. Hey will that work if I'm called into court? I have the same rights as them -right?
Congress! Grow a pair! Madam Palosi please don't turn out to be what we all are beginning to think you are! - hackaroxp, on 01/05/2008, -0/+4Yup, me too.
- Trillion08, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3He knows he is hated and that he's a sellout to his country esp every soldier in Iraq and every single person that died on 9/11, and that the devil is his only friend. He has no soul, the only place people like him, Cheney, Rice, etc will find their souls after they die is in Hell.
- garyh84, on 01/06/2008, -0/+3No, because srape isn't against the bible, blow jobs are. According to the bible, she would have to marry the men who raped her.
