They include every single candidate, except for Ron Paul. They even include Fred Thompson, who wasn't at the debate and isn't even a candidate. The bias is blatant and sickening. - painted82, on 10/24/2007, -1/+51Hahaha.....
Mainstream media is finally getting exposed!!!
"I trust the internet more than mainstream media." - Dr. Ron Paul - Lowry, on 10/24/2007, -0/+34Thank you I called and my blood is boiling right now.
I notified him of the poll not including Ron Paul and he told me they were aware of it. I then told him comments were being deleted on the site. He told me they were removing comments that had personal information. I then told him comments that were not spam, trolling, or posting personal info were being deleted and he told me that he isn't sure if it's users of the site. I told him it was impossible that registered users can't because it is someone at ABC news doing it. He said they will look into it.
I then asked him if he would put Ron Paul back on the poll and I quote he said "We'll see..."
I lost it on him and asked him "where abc news' integrity and honesty was at..." to which he replied "Well, we're technically working on it..."
Thanks again for the number, it's obviously someone that is in the proper department to be contacted. - Beatmiser, on 10/24/2007, -1/+34Here is a link to some comments that are no longer there. Screenshotted for posterity.

This is disgusting. - aknappjr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34This is horrible that a mainstream news organization would censor Dr. Ron Paul.
- AKBryant54, on 10/24/2007, -3/+35Censorship like this needs to be brought to the limelight, and the American people need to know what's going on today in mainstream media.
- dukeeeey, on 10/24/2007, -0/+30If we want America back, we are gonna have to fight for it.
- inactive, on 10/24/2007, -2/+31They just erased the poll. They'll pretend it never happened, but we won't forget.
- Lowry, on 10/24/2007, -0/+28For those that don't know much about Ron Paul, here is a compilation of him at the debate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7yJgqnQ5Rc
Here is where he stands on a number of things.
Dr. Ron Paul is a 10th-term Congressman, Veteran, flight surgeon, and a medical doctor specializing in obstetrics and has delivered more than 4,000 babies. He has earned the nickname "Dr. No" for voting against any bill he believes violates the Constitution; In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the "one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill.
Check this out:
He's never voted to raise taxes.
He's never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war
NOTE: Paul is the ONLY Rep. candidate to vote against Iraq. Clinton, Biden, Hagel, Edwards, etc. voted for and has since flip flopped like John Kerry...which cost him the 2004 Election.
As if those points aren't enough, Ron Paul wants to:
- Bring our troops home from Iraq & end the war
- Secure our borders from terrorism
- Stop illegal immigration & no amnesty for illegal immigrants
- Get rid of the IRS for fairer taxes for you
- Limit big government in your private affairs & lives
- Trusts the internet over mainstream media.
Please spread the word on him if he matches your values. - Bob042, on 10/24/2007, -1/+26It has Ron Paul on it now. I just voted for him.
- Lowry, on 10/24/2007, -2/+25My comments were deleted 4 times. I left messages with multiple people but couldn't get through to an actual person.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24WE DID IT!
- synapz, on 10/24/2007, -1/+23ABC has bowed down to Digg. Ron Paul is now on the Poll: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/BeSeenBeHeard/popup?id=3135373
- madmonky1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22But it's great that the internet gives us some means of fixing/exposing the situation.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22"Warning: The Content in this Article May be Inaccurate"
WTF. - Infinite84, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22CALL THIS NUMBER I got through and they were pissed. Piss them off more.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20"I trust the internet more than mainstream media." - Dr. Ron Paul
- actionjackson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Hmm. Paul's on there now. That's good. Although I'm independent, I really liked what Paul had to say about a lot of things.
- synapz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22call 212-456-2700. Ask to be connected with "dot com". Talk to the gentleman there about it.
- Beatmiser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Absolutely astounding. Well done Digg.
- specsaregood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19They get him on there just as this story goes popular....nice timing.
- gmason08, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17At this point it might be best to stop giving them chances to atone/warning them. Just focus on documenting their info manipulation and exposing it and perhaps it will be picked up by other organizations, maybe foreign. That way catching them in the act of their crime may become a bigger issue.
- crapuccino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14They're not working very hard on it I would guess.
- danconia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15For all of you on Facebook who like Ron Paul, join us at:
http://usc.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2229718737
It's his largest Facebook group. Let's keep the numbers increasing! - afx1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14He's back on the poll now, and way in the lead.
- bluechips23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13First, it was discrimination against Mike Gravel. Now it's discrimination against Ron Paul. So who's mainstream media's favorite guy? George W Bush? Looks like they like any one who doesn't know how to run a government and they are against the RIGHT candidates for the right post! I trust Digg more than any stupid news website like ABC News or Fox News.
- synapz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12They reset the poll numbers, too. :)
- LuciferChaos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I just looked at the poll and Ron Paul is on it... 4:45PM central time - clicked patr84's link

Win! - Lowry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Here is a printscreen of the poll that was deleted: http://x011.uploaderx.net/x/ronpaul.gif
- jdaniel284, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'd fight for a man like Ron Paul. Not so for any other candidate.
- Lowry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I called and said those exact words "I just wanted to say thanks for adding Ron Paul onto the poll."
and she told me "Are you the guy that keeps calling? I am going to report your number to security." she then told me they had breaking news to cover and to stop calling..
I said "This is only the second time I have called, the first time I called I was asking why Ron Paul was not on the poll. This time I called and thanked you and now you are threatening me?"
So she hung up. Wow, abc news has lost all respect in my book. I wouldn't call and tell them thank you, they'll just threaten you... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The media can't get away with ***** as long as NEW media is involved. It's a perfect example of media manipulation. How cynical they are making us!

What are you guys talking about, Digg has been burrying this story since yesterday,
I have been trying to get this out since yesterday morning - M4tt3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10@mrassman
NO *****. People are too retarded to understand what they're looking at, so they mark it as inaccurate. Sad, very sad. - rancemo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9It's not spam. I'm not making any money of promoting Ron Paul. I only have liberty to gain.
- specsaregood, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I hope they aren't paid hourly if they are "working on it". Because they knew about it yesterday morning.
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Ron_Paul_excluded_from_ABC_online_poll
What it worse is that before they started deleting comments, for the most part the comments asking "Where is Ron Paul" were well written and sensible. By deleting the comments they have brought spam messages and such.
Oh, and my original message was deleted and it DID NOT CONTAIN any personal info or break any TOS by any degree. - LeviticusKrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Oh, like what MSNBC did to Mike Gravel?
- nomadxx7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Ron Paul and Mike Gravel are the only two candidates that I see as honest men. They are polar opposites but honestly they seem to have the American people's interest at heart. Can anyone remember a time this has happened before? Hopefully they will get on the ballots and show the government that we are sick and tired of voting the lesser of two evils into office to see our liberties flushed away.
- TheOther1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Yea, he is on the poll, very last candidate. They are not sorted alphabetically, but maybe in descending order of the MSMs approval?
- BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -1/+9The power we hold is unstoppable. If only we could extend it beyond the dead end that is the internet. The Fox News masses aren't going to ever see things like this, but it wouldn't take half this community's potential to expose the truth to the world.
- Stochio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8ABC's #: 212-456-2700
Call and POLITELY say "I'd like to thank you for adding Ron Paul to the poll"
Their secretaries will complain to each other and to their managers. They will learn not to exclude Ron Paul from a poll in the future. - aknappjr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8At the time this article was written it was ACCURATE. Now its been flagged as inaccurate, as the poll NOW includes Dr. Ron Paul. But they're still deleting comments, and to me this is a clear case of censorship.
- sentime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Nice Victory!
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+7Looks like Mr. Paul is leading the poll now. Good, I hope ABC realized what a ***** move this was and serves as a bad PR lesson to other networks so they don't make an example of themselves the way ABC did. I can't stand when they pull such a blatant mistruth and pretend like nobody will notice.
I've only voted a Democratic ticket, but Ron Paul is a really interesting figure to me right now. He seems to believe in many of the principles that conservatism really stands for, and I agree with some of his libertarian views. Regardless, it doesn't matter to me who ABC or any network chooses to omit from their polls, because I think that censorship is a mutual enemy.
I disagree with the "It doesn't matter..." option, by the way. That's not the point of the poll, it's asking voters who won the Republican debate. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8No wonder they don't want him to be president..
- gnatinator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Not exactly "Breaking", but a good example of bias and censorship in the mainstream media. Dugg
- Beatmiser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@christopherrb
No, and you should be thankful for that. Simply because you can't be assed to understand why this is actually important doesn't mean that it 'isn't important'.
So go sit down, cross your legs, and let grownups talk. - emil1212, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Well, it's been fixed, and guess who the ppl (Diggers) think did best?
