- inactive, on 11/06/2007, -14/+171There is No Way in hell that this poll is completely accurate. The majority of Americans want the troops home and the war to end.
- RavagesOfTime, on 11/06/2007, -10/+154And there you have it. It took a lot less time than the Iraq propaganda.
- riverrunner, on 11/06/2007, -12/+110WTF is all I have to say.
- dru171, on 11/03/2007, -4/+74In other news, 52% of Americans were unable to locate Iran on a map.
- pintomp3, on 11/06/2007, -9/+79i can't believe the fear mongering still works so effectively.
- FluffyWolf, on 11/03/2007, -5/+66As a contrast, I would have liked a poll of the opinion of the average Joe on whether the US should bomb some other places as well, for example how many would support a strike against France, Mexico, Canada, Washington DC or California. That is...it would be interesting to know how crazy people really are.
- trisquithere, on 11/06/2007, -6/+55You know, i really hate this country sometimes.
- inactive, on 11/06/2007, -12/+57In other news, 52% of Americans are bloodthirsty savages.
- bariswheel, on 11/09/2007, -20/+62***** POLLS. What a completely embarrassing and lame way of collecting biased data. Who the ***** has a land line phone?? Old people! Noone in our generation owns a ***** land line phone, therefore POLLS ARE *****. End of story.
- Forklore, on 11/01/2007, -2/+38According to their numbers over 80 percent of the people asked those questions do not use the internet. I wonder who they actually asked.
- jollyholly, on 11/06/2007, -39/+75Buck Fush
- Scynet, on 11/08/2007, -6/+39Breaking news: 53% of rest of the world supports bombing US.
Well, not quite yet, but we're getting there pretty fast... - StarlessKnight, on 11/06/2007, -3/+34Apparently, if the poll is accurate, Americans don't only fail to learn from history... they fail to learn from recent history.
- k3ano, on 11/06/2007, -2/+31“This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous...Having said that, all options are on the table.”
– President George W. Bush, February 2005 - rac1234, on 11/06/2007, -7/+33How do you know that the majority don't want to attack Iran? Perhaps the poll is accurate and people are just more gullible than we'd like to believe.
That said, I hope you're right and the poll's wrong. - snotrokit, on 11/06/2007, -6/+31I love my country, I just hate the ***** that run it.
- derforseti, on 11/03/2007, -9/+34I don't know why you guys don't just up and move to Canada while you still can.
- inactive, on 11/01/2007, -3/+28I have no problem with Israel existing as a country. I think they have every right to defend themselves against foreign attacks. I have no problem with the US stepping in and helping them defend themselves IF they are attacked first.
I ALSO believe that the US should NOT be fighting proxy wars for them. The have one of the best trained and equipped militaries in the world, not to mention a substantial nuclear stockpile for a country of *any* size.
It's time for Israel to take responsibility for its own decisions. Let them fight their own fights. I'm sick of our soldiers dying in their proxy wars. - Groovemaster, on 11/01/2007, -5/+27If the US government started running TV ads with George Bush telling the nation "Your tax dollars are now gonna be blown on a massive war with Iran for the sole purpose of keeping the military-industrial complex wealthy while domestic issues barely even get a glance. If you don't like it, I dare you to do something about it. Come on, ya spineless wimps! I ***** DARE YOU!" Americans would still sit idly and allow their money to be used on more slaughter-for-profit like the subservient, apathetic drones they are.
- sittered, on 11/01/2007, -1/+23There will still be a world that is being ruined by the US regardless of where we move.
- MarkCiccone, on 11/05/2007, -39/+60***** Israel.
- Zeonix, on 11/06/2007, -9/+28Where the ***** are these polls coming from? I have a landline phone and I never get called. ***** this *****. They're trying to trick Americans into believing other Americans want to bomb Iran so that they'll feel like they need to agree. It's a piece of ***** plan, but I have no doubt that it'll work in some areas where the news is gospel.
- bigjoeportagee, on 11/06/2007, -2/+19"fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again"
- inactive, on 11/06/2007, -5/+22"Iran has drummed up enough fear of a "nuclear Holocaust" or a World War III that a majority of Americans (52%) are in favor of a US strike against the country aimed a curtailing its apparent nuclear ambitions."
News Flash Asshat American Empire Builders: Attacking Iran is the cause, and WW3 is going to be the affect. Simple action/reaction. Look,I would like to have a chance at having a family someday, so stop screwing up my world, Fools! Seriously what do we have to do as Americans to put an end to this all out assault on every other non-white country in the world. In the words of Sage Francis, "Don't give me that ethical *****." "It's time to show the world how big our edifice is." - inactive, on 11/06/2007, -10/+26The more I think about it, the more I believe this poll to be skewed. They must have taken the data from people standing in line waiting to be served a plastic bottle of Budweiser, at a NASCAR event.
- shethinkmefunny, on 10/31/2007, -4/+19Lets think about it this way - suppose the "holy land" was actually Virginia. The Jews and all of Europe decides to give them back the land that is "rightfully theirs", against the wishes of the US, and Virginia is reborn as the nation of Israel. It doesn't matter if the land was theirs 2000 years ago, it's ours now, and we would fight to the death to keep our country whole. Israel knows we're pissed at them, so they decide to show us that they're not to be ***** with, by attacking Virginians who refused to give up their homes, and calling on their protector (lets say Russia) to bully us and ensure that Israel is not bombed off the face of the planet.
I have nothing but sympathy for the Palestinians in this case. They got the short, poo encrusted end of that stick. - inactive, on 11/08/2007, -1/+16Probably because the majority of americans want the war to END. Something like 70% of them.
So this is most likely manipulated data.
Keep in mind these polls ask backwards ass questions and present the results in a different manner.
"If Iran were to attack us, would you support a campaign to bomb them?"
Of course people would say yes. So then they turn that into, "OMG SEE PEOPLE WANNA BOMB IRAN."
How about we use some critical thinking, eh? - Amazetbm, on 10/31/2007, -3/+16Considering that Isreal has kicked the crap out of their neighbors in the past as well as take out Saddam's reactor, they can handle themselves. Hell their intelligence agency is more effective than our own.
- inactive, on 10/31/2007, -2/+15All polls are flawed by design. They only call people with land lines...which tends to exclude the younger, more tech-savvy crowd who no longer have land lines (cell phones only, like myself). That means there's only limited segments of the population that they are polling, which inherently makes the polling NOT random.
And don't even get me started on how they spin the questions to get the answers they want.
I reiterate: ALL polls are flawed by design. - inactive, on 11/05/2007, -12/+25Israel can defend herself, or not. ***** they attacked one of our ships, the USS Liberty if memory serves me correct. So ya Ciccone in a round about way I guess your right. Turn about is fair play. No Quarter!
- pieinthesky, on 11/08/2007, -0/+13Yeah, but the old war is broken, this is a bright shiny new one with that new war smell!
- TheRealToma, on 11/06/2007, -3/+16http://www.zogby.com/methodology/readmeth.dbm?ID=1 ...
Thats how they conducted the poll.
What a terrible shame that the USA doesnt support peace :( - Scottamus, on 11/01/2007, -1/+1480% of americans probably can't point to iran on a map and even that's being generous.
- k3ano, on 11/06/2007, -4/+17"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts."
- Abraham Lincoln
"Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government. Whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights."
- Thomas Jefferson
The real facts:
http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Blum/US_Interven ... - adgreene, on 11/01/2007, -6/+18"Bomb Iran, Propaganda Machines say in new poll"
I fixed it. - hipnerd, on 10/31/2007, -4/+16"They" didn;t set up a Jewish state. Britain did. The Europeans felt so bad about what they did to the Jews during World War II that they decided to give them the Arab's land. That's worked out great for just about everyone.
- JAVandiver, on 10/31/2007, -2/+14Most people who actually vote have a land line. That, and most of those who only have mobile pones have their numbers on the "Do Not Call" list and would not get a survey call anyway.
- thebaron2, on 10/31/2007, -6/+18How do we arbitrarily decide which polls to believe and which ones are manipulated?
No one seems to bitch when Zogby polls appear to confirm their previously held beliefs. What's the point of polling if you only trust the results that agree with what you already believed? - pilotss, on 10/31/2007, -1/+12Thank you for stating that! To add :
1. You do not know how many people were polled.
2. How the question was asked. (Do you believe in the death penalty or Do you believe it was ok this man died for killing 4 children and in front of their mother or Do you believe it is less of a burden on the system to remove people from death row instead of retaining them there for their lifespan)
3. Where and what time the question was asked. (using home numbers in the suburban Mass. area will give distinctly different numbers then evening calls in the Kansas.)
Polls are unscientific, unreliable, and propaganda. If you see the word POLL, think bunk. - DrTall, on 10/31/2007, -4/+15You are giving isolationists a bad name. I don't want to support Israel simply because it is a different country. It shouldn't have anything to do with it being a Jewish state.
- john2kx, on 11/02/2007, -14/+25I see what you did there, switching the first letters... clever!!
- roguepirate, on 10/31/2007, -1/+12Well that's what happens when you start cutting the education budget isn't it?
- zyl0x, on 11/03/2007, -4/+15Either 52% want to bomb them, or the media is telling you that 52% want to bomb them. How can you even tell anymore?
- Firehed, on 10/31/2007, -2/+12No, just too stupid to turn away from the propaganda box between their favorite reality shows.
http://despair.com/propaganda.html - inactive, on 10/31/2007, -7/+17I was aboot to say the same thing.
- SilentJay74, on 11/06/2007, -7/+16This was a BS manipulated poll. The Middle East is ***** up enough. If we go start another war it would be perfect timing for a super power to come and take us over. We need to BACK THE ***** OFF before we destroy our own damn country! Our military is stretched way to thin for us to get into some other dumbass Bush led conflict. Can we just impeach and oust both Bush and Cheney before we destroy the entire planet?
- blakeage, on 11/02/2007, -8/+17No, ***** Bush
- chillypacman, on 10/31/2007, -5/+14Since when the ***** was it America's responsibility to protect Israel? Last I checked they were already giving billions in 'aid' to Israels military and Israel was recieving who knows how much more money in 'aid' for 'charity'. I think Israel can protect itself with its massive and intimidating military... well at least if/until Ron Paul wins the presidency and cuts military funding to Israel and ends this nonesense in the middle east, Israel won't need to worry about protecting itself against its supposedly hostile neighbours if it ceases with the hostile behaviour to begin with. Israel does have nuclear weapons though and if its military funding is cut off I think we'll have a world war 3 by a government desperate to maintain its superiority over others in its region. ***** Israel, not Americas job to baby sit the world. Americans have NO OBLIGATION to spend a penny on Israel, not one stinking penny, Israel is a seperate state, it's about time it got on its own feet and stopped recieving 'aid' to build its military which is causing so much of the hostilities to begin with up in the middle east.
No one likes a rogue state with a nuclear arsenal, so it's about time Israel cut the ***** and disarmed. Only then could you with a straight face try and ask another country (supposedly developing nuclear weapons) to cease and desist. If they insist it's for power, why not give them a small percentage of the 30 billion a year that Israel would otherwise recieve for its military so that they can build non-nuclear power sources. It doesn't happen, why? Because the US government does not want peace in the middle east, an israel that has no military force is an israel that won't be going to war with its neighbours and an Iran without the possibility of having nuclear warheads is not an Iran that can be attacked under the false pretense of pre-emptive strike. - Noiremorte, on 10/31/2007, -6/+15Good ***** job, America. /flee
- DonCarcharo, on 10/31/2007, -0/+9I was just thinking this today as I watched a preview of Dexter. This edited "TV-14 Safe" version showed someone jamming a needle in person's neck, someone running a scalpel across a person's cheek and later panned across a body that was slashed to pieces by a machete. This was all perfectly safe for 14 year olds. What wasn't? Some blonde woman's left nipple. They blurred that out.
Death, dismemberment, maiming = healthy
Nipples = eeeeevil
It's a weird set of priorities our country has. -
