- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -9/+84if the courts want the citizens to respect the rule of law they need to make an example of Mr. Rove. (Barr is impressing me with his videos, good work)
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -15/+61Give em hell Bob!
This man is the right one for the job of cleaning out the rat hole that is Washington. - Minarchian, on 08/02/2008, -11/+44I like how he uses the term "Bush Family".
It's like the Gotti Family.
In almost every sense or the term, the Bush family is a crime syndicate. - mkauai, on 08/02/2008, -19/+48GO BARR!!!
The evolution of the r3VOLution.
www.walk4freedom.com - Camaroman, on 08/03/2008, -4/+27Well Bob Barr is no Ron Paul.....I know, we've all been spoiled by Ron.
- hikkaro, on 08/02/2008, -15/+36Barr continues to impress. Would love to see him raise some Ron Paul type money to get his message out.
- TsuruchiBrian, on 08/02/2008, -24/+40Bob Barr is not a bad candidate relative to what else is currently out there. I hope he gets into the debates. He is NOT however a libertarian, despite being the Libertarian Party nominee. Despite having allegedly converted to "libertarianism", he still supports the criminalization of drugs at the state level. His Political Action Committee still to this day raises money for Republican congressional candidates, many times with Libertarian Party opponents. Some of people Bob Barr has currently raised money for are Saxby Chambliss, Norm Coleman, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and Jeff Sessions. Many of the candidates he raises money for support very non-libertarian laws (like constitutional amendments to ban gay marriages and flag burning).

Here is a video of Bob Barr saying he is opposed to drug decriminalization. Maybe Barr believes in drug legalization but it is just being bullied by Hannity or is scared that drug legalization will not be popular in the mainstream. I would still really like a candidate who is a true libertarian and is not afraid to clearly state their libertarian positions on all issues. Ron Paul would not take this kind of ***** from Hannity. Ron Paul has repeatedly expressed support for legalization of victimless crimes like drugs and prostitution in press interviews and effectively explained why he supports it. I don't want a candidate who is trying to pander to Sean Hannity.

I donated almost $1000 to Ron Paul. I have been a member of the Libertarian Party for 10 years (since I was 18). I voted for Harry Browne in 2000 and Michael Badnarik in 2008. This will be the first presidential election I am eligable to vote in that I will not vote for the Libertarian Party nominee.
Bob Barr is NOT a libertarian.
Bob Barr is not an adequate substitute for Ron Paul.
Right now the only option that seems even remotely palatable to me is to write in Ron Paul's name in November. I know it won't count. But I have never voted for the lesser of 2 evils (or 3 evils in this case) and I sure as hell am not about to start now.
You're vote doesn't count anyway. Why waste your vote on the now morally compromised Libertarian Party? Vote for a REAL LIBERTARIAN. WRITE IN "RON PAUL" in NOVEMBER. - bobbarr2008, on 08/03/2008, -14/+29Please remember to friend our profile on Digg! Thanks for your support.
- slappy83, on 08/03/2008, -1/+16OBAMA = FLIP FLOPPER
MCCAIN = FLIP FLOPPER
AMERICANS = SCREWED - btschul, on 08/02/2008, -7/+19I'd rather have a fake Libertarian than a neo-con or a democrat.
- kemp34, on 08/02/2008, -3/+13August 5th money bomb "Axe the Tax".
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -4/+13@sportsstar, don't you have anything better to do than to troll articles about Barr and Paul?
You are trying to dismiss ideas that may save this country. What do you get out of that?
The reality is that the status quo is going to ruin this country. We cannot finance the entitlemnt programs, the foreign empire, the growing debt and the all-pervasive nanny-state. We cannot pay our bills now and Social Security and Medicare and the interest on the debt are all growing exponentially. We will certainly not be able to get our finances in order without a violent change of direction.
The status quo, democrats and republicans, will not do anything to address these problems, in fact they won't even talk about it. We are doomed if we do not empower a third way, a choice for responsible government. If we always vote for the lesser of two evils the new alternative will never be able to grow into a position of competitiveness.
Your vote is wasted sportsstar because this election will not be decided by a vote. In the end a vote for McCain or Obama is just a vote for the status quo. And that is really stupid.
You could instead vote for the Libertarians. If they recieve 5% this election they will be competitive in 2012 - kemp34, on 08/03/2008, -5/+14Interesting to note that a number of these commenters in this thread are bashing Barr over Karl Rove. Interesting.
Where is Obama calling out officials for evading congressional subpoenas? - Minarchian, on 08/02/2008, -2/+11Let these loons troll the Barr and Paul stories.
It's that many less kittens getting maimed and killed by them. - richirwin, on 08/03/2008, -1/+10This bastard finally gets something right.
- XxtraLarGe, on 08/03/2008, -4/+13@TsuruchiBrian: "But it doesn't matter because Bob Barr is not going to win."
If that's the case, what's the harm in voting for him? You're registering your protest against the two-party system that way. By writing in Ron Paul, you may as well not even vote at all, because it won't be counted. - Reaktor5, on 08/03/2008, -1/+9Actually, I think this is the first one of these that might be true.
- dagnome1984, on 08/03/2008, -2/+10Ron Paul is a paleoconservative. He is not a Libertarian.
- Minarchian, on 08/03/2008, -1/+9Overtly racist?
You must be talking about John "I hate Gooks" "Tarbaby" McCain - inactive, on 08/03/2008, -4/+11This executive privilege b.s. is a slap in the face to everybody.
Go get 'em Bob! I know you will. - TheEngineer2008, on 08/02/2008, -7/+14The Libertarian Party presidential nominee and former Georgia congressman.
http://www.bobbarr2008.com - SquigglyP, on 08/03/2008, -2/+9clinton wasn't impeached for having an affair.
- JoshReflek, on 08/03/2008, -0/+7eloquently put, nutsackorama.
you live up to your name. - Leadman584, on 08/02/2008, -2/+9A vote for Ron Paul will not, and can not be counted. I am saddened by this because I voted for the good Dr. in the primaries. I also donated the few hundred fiat dollars I could afford, and loan out the five copies of the Revolution purchased. He has discouraged a write in campaign for the White House.
In a Utopian world, Rand Paul would succeed Ron Paul after his second term. In case you haven't noticed, this is not a Utopian world.
We have at least 5 different choices for President. Obama, McSame, Barr, Baldwin, and McKinney. There are more, but ballot access will be spotty for Baldwin, McKinney, and the field.
I have tremendous reservations about Bob Barr. Chuck Baldwin represents the grassroots "Moral Majority" that scares me. He is a close friend and ardent supporter of Ron Paul. I honestly believe that Ron Paul will endorse Bob Barr, and here's why.
Barr can pull the hardcore conservative vote, that won't vote for McCain or Obama, and might just stay home. I have experience in this area. The last President that I voted for, before Ron Paul of course, was Ronald Reagan. The Reagan that ran for President, was not the man than ran this country. A small lead reminder of whose in charge, changed Reagan's perspective. I'm positive the man rolls in his grave every time the words "trickle down economics" are attributed to him.
The opportunity that Bob Barr offers us all, is not the next President. Not gonna happen, Obama is anointed. Should Bob Barr somehow manage 10% of the total popular vote in November, the libertarian party would qualify for public matching funds, and debate inclusion next cycle.
It's truly a shame that Ross Perot did not affiliate with a party, any party. He garnered 17% of the popular vote, and that party would have qualified for the goodies. I deeply regret that I did not vote for Perot, but I guess I had an entitlement attitude then.
I will vote for Bob Barr, and hope that we can add another party to the national spotlight. - SquigglyP, on 08/03/2008, -3/+10he is against legislating it at a federal level. He personally doesn't agree with abortion, but if a state wanted to continue to keep it legal - as most states would probably do - then that's that. He wouldn't demand they ban it. That's the thing about these sort of candidates that people don't understand, apparently. Ron Paul hates abortion, but he loves freedom more, and if the people of this country want to continue to allow abortion, then that's the way it will be.
- SquigglyP, on 08/03/2008, -2/+9"the most contemptible human being to ever run for president"? Someone likes to exaggerate the ***** out of things, eh? Is he the best candidate to ever run for president? Surely not, but he's a hell of a lot better than the current alternatives. Of course, this only means that he'll lose horribly, as a result of all the completely *****-stupid people who vote in this land of children.
- dizilbdog, on 08/03/2008, -2/+8So I mean if Rove doesn't have to answer to courts, doesn't that mean that any American does not have to answer to the rule of law if this man wont'. I mean I don't know a lawyer can just bring this up for you if you happen to be in court, maybe it will work.
- tajitj, on 08/02/2008, -6/+12We have to get real. Is Ron Paul a "real Republican" Most of his party would say no. The Libertarian party is no more than 500k people. Barr is giving them a chance to get millions of votes. I heard more people welcome Mike Gravel into the party then Bob Barr.
- alamedaman, on 08/03/2008, -10/+16***** you Karl Rove killed two of my friends
- TheRhinoceros, on 08/03/2008, -1/+7Absolutely right Bob. The Question I have is, Is there any way to force the issue, to bypass the "get out of jail free card" that the Bush Administration is handing to Karl on this? Like, say If he were placed under citizens arrest, like was attempted in Iowa last week. Would that state, or any other, once having him in custody, have any obligation to hold Mister Rove and hand him to congress and make him testify?
Just Curious.
Go Get'em Bob!
http://election-coverage.com/ - ryrocker, on 08/03/2008, -3/+9im a passafist... but id really like to see rove get his ass kicked... youtube style.
- Minarchian, on 08/03/2008, -2/+7Write-ins for Paul will NOT be counted....period!
Stop wasting people's time with this nonsense.
In order to be a write-in the candidate must register with each state a "Declaration Of Intent".
The info for this in NC is in this .pdf file from the NC web site:
http://www.sboe.state.nc.us/GetDocument.aspx?id=31 ...
You have on of three choices... Vote for one of the bought and paid for Statists, sit this election out, or vote 3rd Party.
Writing in Ron Paul will have the same effect as staying home. - kemp34, on 08/03/2008, -5/+10Who do you support for president?
Also, care to provide any documentation of your smears or you just like slinging digg *****? - rabidmonkey1, on 08/03/2008, -2/+7Oh greeeaaat, Herkimer56... Does anyone even take you seriously anymore??

Thankfully, Digg has a built in "Block User" function now. All your comments are so consistently inane and stupendously stupid I can't help but change the channel so as to not include you anymore in any Digg post again. I'd advise anyone with more than half a brain to do likewise. - tomarocco, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5More importantly, where is McCain calling out officials for evading congressional subpoenas?
- kemp34, on 08/02/2008, -3/+8Nice to see you admit your base ignorance Mr. SS.
- mrsteveman1, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5Puppy molesting has been outsourced to India, not our responsibility anymore buddy.
- MrXfromPlanetX, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5I've been hunting down local forums to post this stuff on. I've found several local news papers and news stations have forums. We can each help spread this information in our home states, if we post it in as many locations as we can find.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 08/03/2008, -0/+4My friend, you seem a little confused there. Calm down, have a little drink. Barr would benefit more from you increasing your IQ than sending money - which I doubt you have much to send anyway. I'll send some for you. Do the IQ bump-up and you can send money later.
- kemp34, on 08/03/2008, -0/+4Are you Karl Rove's aide?
- kemp34, on 08/03/2008, -1/+5Where are either one of them?
- btschul, on 08/02/2008, -5/+8SUP DAWG, WE HEARD YOU LIKE BEING IGNORANT, SO WE PUT IGNORANCE IN YOUR CAR, SO YOU CAN BE IGNORANT WHILE YOU DRIVE!!
- kemp34, on 08/02/2008, -17/+20Bob Barr thank you for stepping up. You are earning points in my book on a consistent basis at this time.
Anyone who has been in favor of impeaching both Clinton and Bush II moves quickly up in my book. - JigoroKano, on 08/03/2008, -1/+4True libertarians don't care if states have rights Squiggly. True libertarians don't care if states have freedom. Only individuals.
- Makethistough, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Last I heard, Karl had fled the country after counter-assaulting officers trying to apprehend him. Shall we start a war with France for harboring this Terrorist, this man who spreads destruction and evades law, only to live another day helping his rich get richer off the spoils of governmental power and war-crimes.
At least the Mayor of Detroit only shoves the cops that serve him notices, he stays in town for his court appearances. - exomni, on 08/03/2008, -1/+4Two of my friends have died in the Iraq war. Another lost a leg.
If you find that amusing, Cyberdactyl, or alamedaman, then laugh away. - tomarocco, on 08/03/2008, -1/+4I think you meant to say that you'd like to see Rove get his ass fisted. Either that or you're a pacifist, I'm not sure which.
- muckemuck, on 08/03/2008, -4/+6Yeah, it'd be just terrible for you Obama supporters if the media paid any attention to Barr and a bunch of Republicans heard about Barr and decided to vote for him instead of McCain. Eh?
- BotchaMcCoola, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2I usually give $25 or $50 for politicians I like, when the urge hits me. I suspect I will choose the $50 while thinking of this guy next time.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2Not being fit for president? That hasn't stopped many, has it?
