We absolutely need term limits in the house and senate. Newt Gingrich, as speaker of the house, proposed no more than six consecutive terms, but he was obviously overruled by both political parties. I mean....who TF is going to vote themselves out of office???!! - diggzoid, on 10/01/2008, -1/+3I live in NYC and couldn't believe it when Guiliani tried this stunt, BUT that was when he was trying to impose martial law after 9/11. Bloomberg has proved himself a very good non-partisan leader of the city over the last 7 years and I personally, as a staunch Democrat, would not object to him running again. Hey, if the voters don't want him they'll throw him out anyway, don't forget all the "liberal elites" who live here.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -0/+1It was bound to happen :)
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -0/+1If he tries to overturn the term limits without putting it to a vote of the NYC residents then he needs to be remove by any and all means available up to and including violence if it proves necessary.
- hawkeye17, on 10/01/2008, -1/+2Politicians who think they are indispensable are what's wrong with this country. I don't trust people with ego's like Bloomberg's.
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -0/+1Hey, we agree on something!
- inactive, on 11/13/2008, -2/+3He was bitchin' about Guiliani wanting to extend his term after 9/11 and now he's all for it. Not that I liked Guiliani but this is BS. Bloomberg wants to make Manhattan into an upper class only town. Tolls, tickets, congestion pricing, smokers tax under the guise of "smoking is bad for you ". But you buy smokes online.... NYC will chase you down to collect those taxes (some folks had their wages garnished for buying smokes online).
