Billboard Man: Republican President May Have Prevented 9/11
thinkprogress.org — Mike Meehan, the Orlando businessman who paid to put up a billboard displaying the burning World Trade Center next to the words “Please Don’t Vote for a Democrat,” appeared on CNN’s American Morning where he argued that the attacks of 9/11 could have been prevented had a Republican been in the White House in the late 1990’s

- MadKennyP, on 07/16/2008, -4/+6Part of the long list:
1) Cheney's "Terrorism Task Force" didn't meet even ONCE before 9/11.
2) Condi Rice and President Bush ignored the PDB entitled, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the U.S."
3) Condi was scheduled to give a security talk on Sept 12, in which she would state that our top priority was the missile defense program.
4) On the morning of 9/11, President Bush was told, "The country is under attack." His rapid response began with reading a children's book to schoolchildren for another SEVEN MINUTES. - rearlgrant, on 07/16/2008, -5/+2Funny.
I was told in one thread, to paraphrase, that the current economic crisis wouldn't be occurring if Dole had been elected in '96. Ok.
And on OBL, apparently the Clinton Administration wanted to hide OBL's location from the Bush Administration in order to hold the specter of not finding him over the Republicans. Rich, I love it.
For a party that will only deny using brownshirts, rather than disavowing such behavior, when it comes to disrupting the voting process, I say they protest too much and project their own desires on to the Democrats. Republicans are the party of personal responsibility dontchya know. - Stevanoski, on 07/17/2008, -2/+3Well the Brown Shirt Democrat operatives are at it again, more lies to follow I'm sure, and of course they will blame Jewish Republicans if they can work it into the title. Sigh, Clinton had the chance to capture Bin Laden and did not. If you stopped OBL then the 9/11 plans don't coalesce.
- riderofthestorm, on 07/17/2008, -3/+2Mmmm... another scoop of Neocon "You're in danger without us" crap. Kinda reminds me of High Chancelor Suttler saying that they need to remind the citizens "...why they need us!"
Yeah, I need a sack of elephant crap like I need Scurvy.
Both parties need to die in a fire though. - rodgerdodger5, on 07/17/2008, -1/+2He has been listening to Fox News too much.

I have noticed them doing this all the time. These soundbites are heard by everyday people and they remember them. It causes division in our country and people do not understand the real true facts. Our Mainstream Media is really hurting and dividing our country by not doing it's job properly. - philovivero, on 07/17/2008, -1/+1I think that if both Republicans and Democrats were voted out of office en masse, we'd see actual progress on terrorism, the depressed economy, education, public debt, and the worrisome growing fascist trends in all three branches of government.
So this guy is at least half right.
