http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Hillary_Lie_120_ ... - DeviantDragon, on 03/30/2008, -8/+39Why does the submission say top 5 when there are 6 lies in the article?
- theaceoffire, on 03/30/2008, -1/+24By the time they were done with the article, she added a new one.
- pilot3033, on 03/30/2008, -3/+18Many Obama Supporters, especially on this site, were not old enough while Clinton was president to do anything about it; thus, many of them didn't really care (those years were not as bad as some make them out to be...relative peace, economic stability, etc). Now these folks are older, and have gone through Bush...so the change the Obama represents is a huge factor.
On an ideal level consider this as well: there was a persistent "lesser of two evils" approach to politicians. Now, to many, its "new way vs. old way." - alphacoder, on 03/30/2008, -7/+21We all know that many politicians will stretch the truth or straight out lie. That isn't so surprising.
I think what puts everyone off of Hillary Clinton is that you can tell she (and her family) talk down to voters, as if we the people are in need of some good ole lecturin' . In Obama's case, he talks us all up, elevating both himself and us. - motivatedmama, on 03/30/2008, -2/+131) It's partly a matter of having someone better to compare her to.
2) Ironically, Obama has had to say little about her, she has condemned herself again and again with her own words.
3) I never sang her praises. Not then. Not now. From the beginning of this race she has evoked a nearly visceral reaction in me. Sometimes it takes a woman to recognize a bitch when they see/hear one.
4) Obama has out played, out classed, and out smarted her. You'd have to be a blind fool not to see it. - aliengoods, on 03/30/2008, -1/+10It was lying about all the lying? WE'RE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS PEOPLE!
- flip2trip, on 03/30/2008, -21/+30Here is what I don't understand. Back when Bill was president and good ole Hillary was just the first lady all the liberals just loved the first couple. Conservatives were screaming at the top of their lungs about the lies, graft and corruption that were associated with the political couple.
When she announced that she was running for president most everybody on the left said how wonderful it would be to have her for the first woman president.
Now, since Obama mania hit, she is vilified by the same people who once sang her praises, and rather viciously sometimes I might add.
Now finally here is the question: what took you guys soooooo long to finally see what conservatives have been saying for over 15 years now? It's not that she's changed one iota. She's just turned her wrath onto your new Cinderella candidate and NOW most everyone is bashing her.
Here is the rub--most conservatives now are saying at the very least Obama is disingenuous at the most they are calling him a racist. How long will it take our friends on the left to learn their lesson about the Obamas? Hopefully not 15 years. - nirav72, on 03/30/2008, -1/+10Judging by the all the comments you've submitted here on digg RepubOperative. I don't see the difference between you and the people you're calling a rascist. Frankly..I think you're the one who's a rascist. Maybe thats why not a single comment you've submitted has been dugg up. Stop foaming at the mouth. This article had NOTHING to do with Obama. It was about Clinton. STFU.
- jkahrs595, on 03/30/2008, -4/+11So... is she dropping out soon?
- montroller, on 03/30/2008, -0/+7these links alone should be considered self resignation
- SgtQuackers, on 03/30/2008, -5/+11Obama is no better. All politicians will say anything that they need to, to get in office and stay in office.
- inactive, on 03/30/2008, -0/+5digg has reached a new level. not even submitters read the stories.
well, of course they don't "top diggers" spamming. - TehKrut, on 03/30/2008, -3/+8Dude, he wasn't there when the preacher said that. Plus his wife clarified what she meant. It's clear you really like the republican party... But to spread false statements as true, it takes a pitiful person. McCain even defended Obama on the Pastor Wright thing.
- saxreturns, on 03/30/2008, -1/+6You do realise Digg started in the San Francisco area? You'd do well not to insult it here.
- pilot3033, on 03/30/2008, -0/+4until she called them out and publicly made the MSM her bitch
- Mothrog, on 03/31/2008, -1/+5"unless you count one of the longest economic booms in history as damage"
Which the Clintons did nothing to create...
"longest periods of peace"
Where? Somalia? Bosnia?
"balancing the budget for the first time in decades"
No, actually he didn't. A Republican Congress balanced the budget. Not even the Democrats in Congress approved of the original Clinton budget which would have put the US at a $200 billion deficit every single year. Just a hint, but there are a few more people responsible for the governing of the nation than the president.
"McCain has experience - experience supporting the dumbest war in U.S. history"
Just like Senator Clinton. - smacksaw, on 03/30/2008, -8/+12They're not "lies", they're "misstatements."
Hillary: Did Monica suck you off?
Bill: Is it possible to deny it? No!
Hillary: I know about her jizz-bathed blue dress. You did get a hummer.
Bill: I misspoke?
Hillary: I love it!
Bill: It depends on what the meaning of "is" is!
Bill and Hillary: Both laughing maniacally in tandem.
In summary, to lie is to misspeak, except you can't say "to lie is to misspeak" because it depends on what the meaning of "is" is in that sentence. - saska, on 03/31/2008, -1/+5Sometimes the lens of history is kind, and sometimes it is cruel.
When the primary season first began, I supported Hillary. I didn't know a thing about Obama except that he'd spoken at the 2004 convention, which prompted his meteoric rise to fame. But even then it was an uneasy bargain I made with myself, because I *didn't* wholly approve of what went on during the Clinton administration. Some things were great back then -- I was old enough to vote the first time Bill ran. I often talk to people who have no idea that we actually reduced our national debt to below the levels of the beginning of Bill Clinton's presidency. The story goes that the "national debt counter" in Times Square stopped while he was president because they'd never programmed it to go below a certain level. So seeing what the Bush administration has done is horrifying, and it makes people long for the past.
But longing for the past is not the same thing as moving toward the future, and ultimately that's what it's about this year for me. - inactive, on 03/31/2008, -0/+4I love how just a mere 10 years ago Bill & Hillary were the political darlings of our nation. They could do no wrong. Let's amend the constitution and let Bill run again !! We can't wait for Hillary to run, Run Hillary Run !!
And now that Ron Paul chicken ***** out of the race, the Diggers all flock to Obama. For your sake and mine I hope he's up to the challenge. - mrshickadance9, on 03/30/2008, -5/+9I used to love Bill. I guess I still will after this whole mess, but his demon pant suit wearing liar of a wife is really dragging him down.
- d0onut, on 03/31/2008, -0/+4No one's going to take you seriously when you compare Obama to Saddam. With that being said, ***** you.
- ericdano, on 03/30/2008, -2/+6God, if she gets elected.........it will be terrible.
- saska, on 03/31/2008, -1/+5Since I started out not knowing anything about Obama, I had to educate myself. I haven't changed my affiliation just out of spite for Hillary.
You could start with both of his books. And the great big PDF on his web site is pretty clear about his policy approach. That's what I did.
I didn't have any intention of "rolling the dice." - nirav72, on 03/30/2008, -0/+3well even if Obama doesn't get the nomination..do you honestly believe that the Clinton bashing will stop? She brings out the worse in people. Just shows you how much she's truly disliked. Has nothing to do with any ties to Obama or Huffington post (Maybe a bit on digg). But go to Reddit or properller or anyone of the popular forums ..you will see the same.
Another clue - after 8 years of republicans, you'd think people would be focused on them. No , its about Hillary. A vast number of people do NOT like her. - saxreturns, on 03/30/2008, -0/+3You're free to leave anytime you like. I, for one, won't miss you.
- fredmv, on 03/30/2008, -0/+3The umpteen-thousand exclamation points and all-caps sentences made you look retarded. Good job.
- dehemke, on 03/30/2008, -0/+3This sounds like the type of crazy-talk that comes out of the arab/islamic world.
- eShinn, on 03/31/2008, -0/+3I won't whine; I'll just digg ya down ;.)
- runCMD, on 03/30/2008, -0/+3That was an irrational statement. How will it be terrible ? outside Obama conjecture, what have you seen to suggest things will be any worse than they are now ? And for that matter any better if Obama were to get the nomination ?
- inactive, on 03/30/2008, -2/+5Now the liberal slant on Digg makes more sense.
- saxreturns, on 03/30/2008, -0/+3People who are insecure enough to call others 'fags' are usually scared of something...
- segrev, on 03/30/2008, -0/+3Because a politician lying consistently isn't relevant to how people vote? Democrat or republican, Obamite or Hillfan, we don't need somebody in office who is not afraid of telling people blatant lies. Since when are people so unconcerned with honesty; does it not matter anymore? No matter which side of the fence you're on, a lie is a lie. People need to stop developing opinions on issues that do not deserve their opinion. People don't say "in my opinion, apples grow on Mars," or, "in my honest opinion, I don't think the Earth is round." Remember, it's possible to be wrong, but politicians these days seem to associate being wrong with being weak. One of the main reasons, actually, that so many people support Obama, is because people think he is an honest guy. They see his willingness to admit to his mistakes, flaws, and instead of telling the people to have hope in HIM, he asks us to have faith in the power of ourselves to change government.
I guess what I'm trying to say it that Hillary Clinton's recent fabrications are showing more and more that she is okay with lying, and is okay with equivocations like "I was sleep deprived," or that she "misspoke."
And the other day, I got 3 hours of sleep and for some odd reason, all my memories didn't happen under fire. - oenoneablaze, on 03/30/2008, -0/+3wtf? your profile says you're not even from the US. I think we're better off without your 'contribution.'
- inactive, on 03/31/2008, -1/+4I have hated the Clintons ever since they caused hundreds of thousands to starve with the Iraq sanctions and illegally bombed Serbia. So don't generalize about about "liberals" or the left. As a direct action leftist I say anyone who carries water for the Clintons sucks
- Dred, on 03/31/2008, -0/+3He's not
- inactive, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2Actually the data reflects the exact opposite, but who needs truth, right?
- jforjools, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2Don't forget this LIE to OHIO:
"We'll PAY for EVERYTHING we purchase from you good folks!!" - spinaltap87, on 03/30/2008, -3/+5He has charisma, his wife doesn't
- Dred, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2Shut up
- jebzaki, on 03/30/2008, -0/+2i would admit that maybe Hilary's "lies" have been getting center stage.
- girlpirate, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3I like point 3. I just dont trust her. its a gut instinct that I've had since I was a kid and she was first lady. She scared me then and she scares me now, just in different ways.
- cartoonboy, on 03/31/2008, -1/+3This advertisement paid for by "The Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for Barack Obama for President Committee"
- inactive, on 03/30/2008, -0/+2are you possessed,
by a *****? - saxreturns, on 03/30/2008, -0/+2Wow, three replies and you're still trying, I admire your tenacity. Luckily, I don't believe in god or care about the Queen. Nice try though! :D
- Dred, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2Hmmmm, which liar am I going to vote for?
- nirav72, on 03/30/2008, -2/+4Fair and Balanced? Digg isn't a news network. Its a user driven site. It doesn't have to fair and balanced. The digg ranking algorithim doesn't automatically pick certain keywords like "Obama" and elevates them to the top of the pile. In case you haven't noticed, you have two choices at the top of the page - Digg or Bury. So if Obama articles make it to the front page, thats because digg users have dugg those articles. If you cannot comprehend the simple mathematics of majority opinion..then STFU.
- oldman, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2The vast right wing wants Hillary to win!
- ileftfark, on 03/30/2008, -0/+2Who the hell is denying she helped implement NAFTA? WTF are you talking about?
Hillary was instrumental in instituting and coordinating NAFTA, which worked well for a while. Unfortunately, the world changed, and NAFTA hasn't, which causes issues. Issues that Hillary herself has been trying to change for years. Obama has even acknowledged this.
Please stop with the knee-jerking, you'll get arthritis. - Mothrog, on 03/31/2008, -2/+3Because democrats are good at doing what they're told to do?
