- InorganicMatter, on 07/27/2008, -0/+60Go Barr!! He may not be the "perfect" libertarian, but this guy is certainly the best realistic alternative to Obama/McCain.
- LexX69, on 07/27/2008, -0/+51Introducing the blacked out Bill of Rights was hilarious. Even the chairman and the guy behind him almost lost it when he did that. I would have laughed a lot harder if it wasn't so true.
- sciartmedia, on 07/28/2008, -0/+40The Constitution: Void where prohibited by law...
Go barr '08!!!
JM - TheRhinoceros, on 07/28/2008, -0/+37"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects shall be delegated to the United States"
As funny as the moment was for a few of the people there, and it was worth a giggle, it is truly sad that the man is right, and while it's not as bad as he makes it sound there, we are on the road to just such a state.
I Hope whoever wins the election fixes our bill of rights and gives back to the people the rights that should be inherently theirs. And while it might not be as bad as Mister Barr makes it sound, Rights have been altered beyond recognition by the Bush White House and things need to be set aright.
Good luck to you this election cycle Mr. Barr, you're going to need it. That is one hell of an uphill climb for you have ahead of you to the Presidency.
It would have been nice if the proceedings there could have been impeachment hearings, but it's too little too late for that. I guess we have to wait and prosecute Bush after he's out of office.
Better late than never.
election-coverage.com - bobbarr2008, on 07/28/2008, -1/+25Thank you all for your support
- linuxtexas, on 08/01/2008, -0/+23This country is ripe for the right kind of "change". A "change" back to the way this country was founded and the principles it was built upon. Thank you, Bob Barr, for bringing the faults of the two major parties to light. You will have my vote in November.
- jfkdem, on 07/28/2008, -1/+24The moment is so right for Barr! He's bringing us back to our roots and our senses!
- jfkdem, on 07/28/2008, -0/+20Bob seems to be the only one who 'gets' this whole mess.
He's also a viable alternative to the Republicans and democrats. No candidate is perfect, but he's the best of the entire crop this year.
http://www.bobbarr2008.com - GTPanic, on 07/28/2008, -0/+17They say the TRUTH will set you free. The American people need to wake up, listen, and realize that they are being lied to, that their elected officials are have no intention of representing anyone's interest but their own. Congressman Barr, I applaud you for speaking the TRUTH and taking the initiative to provide real leadership in thes edark times our nation is facing.
- VigRoco, on 07/28/2008, -1/+16Come November I will certainly vote my conscience, and not follow the other politically lost lemmings who are following the Republicans and Democrats. Go Barr in '08!
...of course I will rather vote for Zod: http://digg.com/politics/Vote_for_a_True_Ruler_Vot ... - zentehflash, on 07/28/2008, -0/+15Awesome.
- kemp34, on 07/28/2008, -0/+11He helped open the door quite a bit.
- inactive, on 07/28/2008, -0/+10Gravel is a fine man, but we need someone who can straighten out government finances and the dollar catastrofe
- Arcueid01, on 07/28/2008, -0/+9Guys I'm really happy that you all are in full support of the rule of law and enforcement of our bill of rights. I think that it is insane as to what is going on with our country these days. I'm not the biggest Barr fan and wish that Paul was on the Republican Ticket, however, there is no way in hell I am voting for Osucka and McSuck as they are both horrible candidates that will only serve to ***** up our glorious nation more than it already is after 8 years of the king of suck: GW.
- kemp34, on 07/28/2008, -0/+9Hardy har har.
- winthestuff, on 07/28/2008, -0/+9I would love to see the Bill of Rights that he blacked out. does anyone have a cop of that or know where to get it on the web. Bob Barr is Awesome!
- Truzseeker, on 07/28/2008, -0/+8the question is how to enforce the bill of rights, and that takes you
- inactive, on 07/29/2008, -0/+8I don't think Barr is exaggerating in the least. Impeachment will happen if people like YOU who are reading this comment make it happen!!!
Look folks, this is our country by birthright. The government has descended into lawlessness and tyranny. They are supposed to be serving us!!! Are they acting in ways that please you? If so may God have pity on you!!! Stand up and say HELL NO NO MORE, and be prepared to back it up with your actions to the death. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain!!
To quote Willie Nelson, again, "Throw the bastards out!!!" This is applicable to all government at all levels!!! What do you think the second amendment is for? - btschul, on 07/28/2008, -0/+8While I completely support what Barr is doing, if the moment really was right, Ron Paul would have done better. All we can do now is pray for some good luck in 2012.
- dgoddard, on 07/28/2008, -0/+8Bob Barr endorses the Free State Project!
http://freestateproject.org/community/endorsements ... - Yorn, on 07/28/2008, -0/+7The stranglehold of the two-party system will fail, never today nor tomorrow, but believe me, it WILL cease to be.
- HardyMachia, on 07/28/2008, -0/+7Paul was in the GOP primaries. Most independents don't pay attention and most people don't pay attention until Sept/October. There's still plenty of time. A 4 million dollar money bomb, raising 30 million for Barr will definitely shake things up especially if he gets into the DemRep Debates.
It's way to soon to give up on 08 and look toward 2012 because there is too much as stake between now and then. - allowners, on 07/28/2008, -0/+7The last thing in the world anybody needs is a "perfect" ideologue of any persuasion. When thought, philosophy and policy become dogma, you have a serious problem.
- inactive, on 07/29/2008, -0/+5Sadly, this story has been buried. I can't see how anyone could find this offensive. There is another version of the story at:
http://digg.com/political_opinion/Bob_Barr_Bill_of ... - relic180, on 07/28/2008, -1/+5You're not really Bob, are you...
You're like, an intern or something? - Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4I dunno, ask Martin.
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4its not really Bob Barr who maintains that account. his name is "Martin"
- inactive, on 07/29/2008, -0/+4There are so many exceptions to the "rights" that we have under the Bill of Rights, that in practice they are almost non-existent. The Police know all the exceptions and the ways to get you to voluntarily give up your rights without your even being aware of it. If that doesn't work they will just ignore your rights and it's your word against theirs.
- Matricul8tr, on 07/29/2008, -0/+4Bob"s my hero now
- JustinB716, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2I really do value political discussion with my family and friends, as well as opening their minds to an alternative to the Democratic and Republican parties --- that being the Libertarian Party, which resonates with people who are disillusioned with both major parties right now. Since the LP has a significant disadvantage when it comes to money, it places even more importance on people like us with "word of mouth" advertising to help get the word out to people who still do not know that THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE! I stopped caring a long time ago about the "wasted vote argument", because I wanted to take a stand at some point and I've never looked back since. It's nice to see the Libertarian message getting out to more and more people.
- sconnor, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1There is a download of it available on the petition site.
- IMJGaltstill, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1Where does Bob Barr stand on the establishment of a 10th amendment commission?
- inactive, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1Well said!!!
- andy2245, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1Is the reason because he gave money to the Libertarian Party rather than to an individual candidate? That reason didn't make any sense, so I hope you came up with another!
- razorsharpwit, on 07/28/2008, -4/+1I am a libertarian that's not voting for Bob Barr
- ThatPhilosopher, on 07/28/2008, -11/+7I so wish that the LP had nominated Gravel instead, but he's the best we've got.
McBama is two sides of the same coin. - Maevirko69, on 07/28/2008, -17/+3Yeah, Bush is Hitler! The Dempublicans are stupid and practically the same thing! Vote libertarian so we can legalize heroin and cocaine, and stop the sham that is the War on Drugs. Everyone knows they only banned heroin and cocaine to oppress minorities! WAKE UP, PEOPLE! Obama just wants to raise your taxes and give the country over to the terrorists, and McCain is stupid old guy and just wants to impose christianity on you! It's so stupid!
