- tvgm2, on 03/21/2008, -17/+182What a whirlwind week for Obama. Next week a former teacher will let everyone that he put gum under his desk once; and then he'll save a puppy from a burning building.
- frankwit, on 03/21/2008, -15/+171I could go for an Obama/Richardson ticket!
- macaca, on 03/21/2008, -9/+149Finally. I wish he would have done little earlier. Specially at the time of Texas primary.
- Duffeh, on 03/21/2008, -12/+120I'm glad one big name superD finally grew a pair to try to stop the DNC from hanging itself. Your turn Edwards & Gore.
Btw. Grats on your recent, and ONLY, superdelegate endorsement since super tuesday Hillary. (haaahahhaahaha) - mrASSMAN, on 03/21/2008, -7/+105Heh, this is an endorsement Hillary was expecting to get. Does anyone find it interesting that all of these former Clinton admin. officials are coming out of the woodwork to say that they wouldn't want to see her running the country? In fact, many of them are working for Obama's campaign now. Maybe they know too much about how she operates behind the scenes..
- jimmyhoffa2222, on 03/21/2008, -9/+105The media would say his gum placing incident was “troublesome” and “disturbing” and shows Obama as unethical. Then the next segment would criticize him and call him Satan for not rescuing the puppy fast enough. This would repeat in a loop on 24/7 cable news channels for a week.
- DeadFox1, on 03/21/2008, -4/+76I wish Richardson would have jumped on the Obama Train a little earlier! like.. before the Texas Primary.
- oceanrain, on 03/21/2008, -5/+67Richardson was such a long time ally of the Clintons. What does that say about Hillary?
- samury, on 03/21/2008, -3/+54Early on, I supported Richardson over any candidate. In my opinion, he has the most relevant experience to deal with the current problems of the country. Being the energy secretary and his foreign relations background, I wanted him to win. Now, I have no doubt I want Obama. Richardson would be a great running mate, if not, he'd make a great Secretary of State.
- Hillsfar, on 03/21/2008, -2/+52Now if only we can get Al Gore and John Edwards to join in.
- mrASSMAN, on 03/21/2008, -12/+60I recommend that you guys read the user comments here: http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/03/ri ...
Prepare yourself.
Here's a sample: "On this Good Friday I can't help but notice the irony. Jesus was betrayed by his disciple just as Richardson betrayed Hillary. I'm not about to try and put Hillary on the same level as Jesus (Obama supporters do that) but I do find the parallel of betrayal saddening. RICHARDSON IS A JUDAS! Richardson is a trusted friend and long time supporter of the Clintons but in the end he betrayed them when it counted! SHAME ON YOU RICHARDSON! YOU ARE A DISGRACE AND A TRAITOR!" - peticsu, on 03/21/2008, -3/+46we need to get Edwards on board
- argaen21, on 03/21/2008, -1/+43Don't forget Hillary will spend that week trying to let us know how disenfranchised that puppy is and that its Obama's fault the puppy needed to be rescued in the first place. This despite the fact that Hillary said the puppy didn't matter in the first place.
- martalli, on 03/21/2008, -5/+42I think this may signify a shift in the superdelegates as a group. Watching interview after interview with superdelegates has given me the impression that they are basically waiting for one candidate to have lost the race (even though it can't be completed clinched without them). Richardson probably feels the race has now reached the point where Obama really has the race. Richardson is stepping up to bring the other superdelegates along with him and lead a movement to truly win the race for Obama.
- DaviDTC, on 03/21/2008, -10/+36Good for Richardson, he did the right thing. I would say this if clinton and obama were in reverse rolls too.
- BigPapi, on 03/21/2008, -2/+27I like Richardson a lot. He has a ton of good political experience and also graduated from the Fletcher School at Tufts. He wouldn't be a bad choice for VP at all.
I still don't understand why people keep drinking the Hillary Kool-Aid. She still refuses to release her tax documents, which says a lot considering that 8 years ago when she was running for Senator, she kept calling out her opponent because he wouldn't release his. I simply don't trust her anymore. She's running a crap campaign and taking every political cheap shot that she can. Somehow people are still buying into it. It baffles me. - lewhich, on 03/21/2008, -0/+23Richardson did not betray the Clintons, he waited until after Texas, and gave NM to the Clintons. He just loves America and the DNC more
- mochaman, on 03/21/2008, -3/+25Richardson had been under pressure to endorse Hillary, but I'm glad he throw his support to Obama when he needs the most. If you recall during Richardson's short live candidacy he had a message of bipartisanship and unity so I'm impress that they both share the same message.
- sagat, on 03/21/2008, -1/+23So Hillary, you sure you want a redo in Florida? I hear there's a lot of latinos down there?
- diggB, on 03/21/2008, -0/+18Bill Richardson's campaign released the following statement this morning (source, nyt.com):
"Senator Clinton is a distinguished leader with vast experience. Her historic candidacy has also been a pleasure to witness. The 1990's were a decade of peace and prosperity because of the competent and enlightened leadership of the Clinton administration, but it is now time for a new generation of leadership to lead America forward. Barack Obama will be a historic and a great President, who can bring us the change we so desperately need by bringing us together as a nation here at home and with our allies abroad. "
He obviously has a lot of respect and admiration for the Clintons, but realizes that what this country needs now after having its reputation butchered over the last 8 years is Obama. - pianomahnn, on 03/21/2008, -1/+19And you're and idiot that should be punched in the face.
- roma1092, on 03/21/2008, -0/+17In response to Obama's falling ratings, this nation isn't ready for somebody who tells them the truth. They'd prefer one of the innumerable political spin doctors Washington inexhaustibly churns out every day, somebody who tells them what they want to hear. Then, 4-to-8 years later, when everything has gone to *****, they can be soothed by another one and rally behind him (or her). As long as they don't have to be intellectually challenged enough to be asked to see something other than what they want to see.
- nirav72, on 03/21/2008, -2/+18I'm afraid Edwards might go with Clinton. But I think Gore will go with Obama. I've heard Gore has a long time grudge against Hillary after she side-lined him and his office during the Clinton presidency on a lot of policy matters.
- lewhich, on 03/21/2008, -1/+17To the people who think Richardson has betrayed the Clintons:
Understand that he waited until after Texas, and gave NM to the Clintons. He just loves America and the DNC more. - jbdobd, on 03/21/2008, -4/+19don't forget "shocking" - (complete with a live shot at night outside a dark schoolhouse that has been empty for 5 hours when everyone went home)
- bcclist, on 06/11/2008, -2/+17No shiat. Playing the safe card - almost meaningless endorsement. I can't wait for Edwards to endorse Obama two weeks after the North Carolina primary.
- canewediggit, on 03/21/2008, -2/+17par for the course. go check out all the comments under the taylor marsh submissions here.
it's all good though, once people connect the dots (hold on, this is my personal crazy conspiracy theory) and we learn the passport breach was the impetus for the somali photos being pushed to the press by the clinton camp, she's done. - BigW, on 03/21/2008, -3/+17Exactly!! Thats what this endorsement is all about. What Richardson is saying is "I endorse Obama for president." What he means is "Please, please, please let me be the VP."
- laserblazer, on 03/21/2008, -3/+17Avoid deifying the Presidential candidates in any way, shape or form. Haven't you seen the degree to which Bush has abused the meme that he's 'Appointed by God'? Treat these people as what they are: job applicants, not heroes, not messiahs, not saviors - Obama included.
- martalli, on 03/21/2008, -2/+16After seeing this hit the front page of CNN a few days ago, It is quite clear to me where the media bias lies:
http://image.bayimg.com/dajgiaabd.jpg - inactive, on 03/21/2008, -3/+17And then we turn to Fox News, who will spend all their time speculating on the suspiciousness of the fact that Obama "just happened to be in the vicinity of the fire at the time," juxtaposed with clips of Rev. Wright giving passionate sermons about wicked people burning in the fires of Hell.
- jbdobd, on 03/21/2008, -2/+15whoa now - Jim Webb has NOT endorsed Clinton. He has yet to make any endorsement as far as I know (and as far as I have been able to find via search). Please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken. Perhaps it was a typo and you meant Jack Murtha, who did recently endorse Hillary?
- inactive, on 03/21/2008, -5/+18"restore America's international leadership"
You're doing it again. - DeadFox1, on 03/21/2008, -1/+14Call me a conspiracy theorist, but, is it also just me that thinks the Clinton campaign in one way or another is behind the releasing of the Wright DVD's? If that's not it, I think the Conservatives were holding onto this for the general election, but decided to release it now since it will help Hillary possibly win the primaries, and McCain can defeat her (imo) in the generals.
- dinot, on 03/21/2008, -1/+14No matter what people say about Digg, it's witty, snarky comments like these that make me keep coming back for more :)
- imgstacke, on 03/21/2008, -2/+14Clark is a Clinton supporter...
- dn11, on 03/21/2008, -1/+13Although Richardson's endorsement is way late. I have to give him a bit of credit for deciding to come out now - at what is probably the most difficult moment in Obama's campaign so far.
- scottc, on 03/21/2008, -4/+16It's about time. His endorsement would have been much more helpful prior to the New Mexico primary. Nevertheless, this is a good sign because Richardson had served in Bill Clinton's administration, so to endorse Hillary's opponent it probably means that he has concluded she longer has a chance of winning the nomination.
- vagrantwade, on 03/21/2008, -4/+15I knew Richardson would endorse Obama. I was kind of hoping it would happen sooner…
- sqwirl, on 03/21/2008, -2/+13"Call Obama on his hate"
No. I'd rather call you on yours. - Ajenthavoc, on 03/21/2008, -1/+12Real Americans toss puppies over cliffs. Obama's gesture clearly shows that he does not support our troops.
Stay tuned to Fox News 'You Decide 08'. When we come back, exclusive video of Hitler saving puppies. - minox, on 03/21/2008, -1/+11This will get Obama a lot of support from people who mistake Richardson for Canadian actor Graham Greene of Maverick fame.
- dlm85, on 03/21/2008, -2/+12I have a lot of respect for Richardson and I think he held back his endorsement until Obama needed a boost. Hopefully Gore and Edwards will endorse him soon.
- lewhich, on 03/21/2008, -1/+11Bill ran his campaign much like Obama (from ground up) while Hillary is running here campaign just like Bush (top down, propaganda, fear, cheating etc.)
- Duffeh, on 03/21/2008, -1/+10For the record, Murtha is the ONLY super delegate endorsement for Hillary since super tuesday:
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/03/17/ ... - Edwaldo, on 03/21/2008, -0/+9Black KKK? Standard policy? You must be one of those Republican racists I keep hearing about.
- DeadFox1, on 03/21/2008, -3/+12Don't give up so easily.
- theomacy, on 03/21/2008, -0/+8that would shore up the Hispanic/black riff that all the dems are concerned about. I would think it's highly probable.
- Edwaldo, on 03/21/2008, -2/+10Whats wrong with a Hispanic vice-president?
- laserblazer, on 03/21/2008, -0/+8'Mexisums', eh? Talk about throwing your credibility out the window with one low-brow pejorative.
