- johnhummel, on 10/12/2007, -10/+159Wow - how low can you get. I've watched O'Reilly once or twice in the past and found similiar anomalies - like when a man was found not guilty of aiding terrorists (he gave money to a Moslem charity, and the jury pretty much said "Yeah - he thought he was giving to a Moslem charity"). O'Reilly kept running footage of terrorists shooting people over the man's name.
But trying to label Foley a Florida *Democrat*? Forget "Fair and balanced" - how about just shooting for accuracy, or is that too high a standard? - whiskeymb, on 10/12/2007, -12/+107fair and balanced doesn't require accuracy. that's how they can weasel out of ***** like this. "what, we're not bias, we're just wrong"...
like being wrong isn't a bad thing when trying to present "information" to your viewers.
***** foxnews and ***** Bill O'reilly. maybe he should just go run a phone sex company. - deathpie, on 10/12/2007, -10/+74un. *****. believable. this smells of desperation.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+69At least Bill Clinton ***** women that are over 18.
- whiskeymb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+62did you just say that florida voters would easily be able to read a ballot... so soon you forget...
- skoles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+55Maybe they forgot the question mark?
" Mark Foley (D-FL)? " - geocar, on 10/12/2007, -5/+58@kolobcreek
What is wrong with you?
Bill O'Reilly sodomizes a puppy and because someone took pictures, you say he was set up?
Who cares?
Foley is a Republican. He pushed for stiffer penalties for a certain kind of crime, and then went and committed that crime. Whether or not Democrats think it was a crime or not doesn't matter. Whether or not /you/ think it was a crime doesn't matter. Fact is, FOLEY thought it was a crime, thought it was amoral and wrong, and did it anyway. We're not putting _our_ values on him, we're putting _his_ values on him.
If he's wrong, it doesn't matter how many people benefit from it. Foley is wrong because Foley said it's wrong. Foley is amoral not because his "page" was 17, but because Foley said people who talk to 17 year olds like that are amoral.
Nobody set Foley up but Foley. Period. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -17/+68Baba-idiot...
You are such a ***** retard, Foley is a Republican, and has been that for all his political life... why do you think he stayed in the closet? - dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -9/+59But....uh..........Clinton!
- MalaysianMafia, on 10/12/2007, -10/+58Fair and Balanced... LOL
- treed, on 10/12/2007, -2/+49Seriously. I've been drunk before, but I've never been *that* drunk.
- MYarms, on 10/12/2007, -7/+46O'Reilly is the shephard of america's sheep.
- johnhummel, on 10/12/2007, -9/+43Maybe they were just drunk - that seems to be the excuse for everything. Coming on to a page? I was drunk! Drive off a bridge - hey, one too many. That war in Iraq? Almost certainly a bender by more than 1 white house official....
- Shadar, on 10/12/2007, -5/+39Yeah, Clinton got it from a porker... that sends a bad message to our kids that even the most powerful man in the world had to settle. We're supposed to be living the American Dream... where if you work hard enough you can achieve anything. Apparantly anything doesn't include a hot chick :(
Foley, on the other hand, showed that an older person could still turn on younger people... what more could our aging country want than that? Foley is a symbol of what most people strive for... to be sexy after 50!
So Obviously Clinton was far far worse. *rolls eyes* - oxyrubber, on 10/12/2007, -9/+40Party affilition is a registration thing. You can be a registered Democrat and vote against the party lines.
He was a registered Republican. The Repubs didn't cut his ties when they first found out about his situation (long before this past weekend). Their lack of action shows passive acceptace of the situation.
He was not a Democrat. O'Reilly plays to the desires of his audience and will say most anything to get his voice heard (rational or not). This is a simple distancing technique - be close to people when they are popular and distance yourself (and your party) when they are unpopular. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+32It happened 3 times. This was no accident.
- znachtman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+33... Yeah... and O'Reilly is an independent. Laughes all around...
- ArchieAndrews, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29I remember the time this guy didn't know that he could filter out specific categories of stories from view. He just preferred to click into the stories he so hated and comment on them. It made him look silly.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31This wasn't meant for the voters, it was meant for the people who believe the Republican party can do no wrong. It's a subliminal hit.
I've read comments on other sites where people's response to this was that Foley was "acting like a Democrat" when he acted inappropriately. If that's not an indication of brainwashing I don't know what is. - DookieNukem, on 10/12/2007, -4/+31@dadrew1
"I haven't heard any republicans defending Foley in the least bit... "
No they haven't been defending him. After all, defending a pedophile might reflect badly on the party. However they have been trying to trivialize it by comparing it to Clinton's extra marital affair with a full grown woman or how Tony Snow claims it was just naughty e-mails. Or how about Tren Lott's plea that we hold off judgement until we find out what "really" happened. As if the IM transcripts could be the product of a secret Democrat special forces unit that broke into Foley's house and made him hit on 16 year olds at gunpoint.
No they haven't been defending him, but they sure as hell have been trying to pass it of as not a big deal. - bigturns, on 10/12/2007, -7/+34O_really is an *****
- karn, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28haha when they look at the diebold screen it will have already been hacked to say D-Foley
- ArchieAndrews, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23*golf clap*
Very nice. - thatbox, on 10/12/2007, -9/+30OOPS OUR BAD GUYS SRY
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -8/+29Well, that's the excuse the Republicans are trying to come up with for Foley. He's in "treatment" for alcoholism.
"Oh, oops, I was drunk. I thought I was IM'ing a hooker - didn't realize it was a sixteen year old congressional page boy" - themarq, on 10/12/2007, -5/+25oh for christ's sake, next time I'll label my post *****SARCASTIC ALERT***** so there's no confusion... faak
- rokinroj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22@pabster
Yeah cause old people are so known for being liberals? - david76, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22You see, he was an alcoholic...
Oh yeah, and he was gay...
Oh, and btw, he was molested by a priest...
AND he's a democrat...
It all adds up...
No doubt this was all intended to confuse those same Floridians who voted for Pat Buchanan in 2000. - david76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I found a few instances of the same AP article on Google News. The quote on Google says "D-Florida" but when you click through it's been corrected to R-Florida.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I remember a time when people didn't whine about every story they don't care to see, but rather simply declined to comment. No wait...I don't.
- danejaneiro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19The AP did it too, and it's been picked up all over -- check Google News for "Mark Foley D-Florida"
- CincyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23Breaking News: FOX NEWS is funded by the GOP. It is the propaganda mouthpiece of the Bush administration. All day long, they broadcast Republican talking points, straight from Karl Rove. Just another example of how we are becoming a fascist empire.
If we do not WAKE UP and stop this, we are lost. But it may be entirely too late. We have lost our privacy and the Bill of Rights and our Constitution have been trashed. We spy on each other. We torture. We have nearly 1000 permanent air bases in almost every nation in the world.
Oh and of course labeling Foley a Democrat was no accident - FOX demonizes Democrats constantly. I am sure that Fox will have on their favorite guest, Mr. Ann Coulter who will put the icing on the cake by blaming Foley's pedophilia on Clinton and the Democrats.
FIGHT THIS!!! - cthulhu, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22"This is because we're so used to Democrats doing this kind of thing no one thought twice about it. Foley must be a Democrat. An honest mistake."

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Republican+pedophiles - VaginalBelch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I called Fox to point out the error, they have an option to leave a message if you wanted to point out an error in their broadcast. I doubt they will post a correction but what the hell it only took 2 minutes to call (toll free) and you only have to leave a message
1-888-369-4762 - cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Note that recently Fox News came out as being gay, alcoholic, and molested during its childhood as well.
- Tebixan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19@xSid
You having a typo in a meaningless comment at digg is much different than a news media outlet allowing disinformation to be spread.
Even if it was an accident initially, there is no way the people working there didn't notice the typo. Continuing to show the graphic even when they knew it was wrong was inexcusable. They should at least have Bill apologize for the error on his next show. - funhouse1970, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19you've got to be kidding me
- geometry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18@dadrew1
I tottaly agree with you. And I hope you plan on voting anybody who tried to cover this up (Republican or Democrat) out of office as well. - ArchieAndrews, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Yeah cause a big X is so obviously intentional while labelling a pedophile as being from the opposite party is an oversight.
- funhouse1970, on 10/12/2007, -10/+26"Fair and Balanced" Right-wing Propaganda
They balance the crazy views spewed by war-mad and greedy celebrity "journalists" . - bbatsell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Hahaha. Nice Daily Show callback.
- labmouse42, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19It's quite balanced.
FOX news gives the presidents side and the vice-presidents side
-Steven Colbert - withears, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17So O' Reilly either (a) is a disingenuous liar or (b) has no control over the content of his program.
Really only two choices. Either way, O'Reilly is to "reporting" as Foley is to "protecting children." - l0th, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20Clinton wasn't the chairman of the House Caucus on exploited interns...
Besides, from a moral point of view, don't you see a *small* difference between Foley and Clinton here. - bigbb33, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13"So then it's official... You just admitted it. Comedy Central then is in no way, shape, or form to be taken serious."
Was it the 'Comedy' in the name that gave it away? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Joe, how many ***** aliases do you have on Digg? You have stop ***** saying the same ***** over and over... your aliases are too transparent.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14What the hell are you talking about? Faux News is just a play on words. Faux means fake. Are you saying the play on words must make a 'focks' sound? Are you that shallow?
- drewskyjones, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I am conservative, not right wing. I think you are blowing this out of proportion (ie I think it was an honest mistake), but I DON'T think you hate America. I think you have a different politcal view than me, and that is great. If we did not have different points of view, that would be worse than disagreeing on some (or many) issues. Remember, "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the rest." In the end a variety of opinions serves us all well...even if it gets a little ugly sometimes.
- Suspected, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16@broken1812
You're an idiot for thinking that a political show would just "accidentally" mark someone incorrectly. They don't run thing like you do your High School project. They care very much about what political party someone is in, especially if that person does something shameful.
Out of all the people involved in producing that show, I wouldn't be surprised if someone pointed out the "error," but Bill said something along the lines of: "It's fine, mark him as a Democrat. He is not one of ours." - rokinroj, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13@pabster
That's right, cause as all the good sheep know...people are either with you or they're a "***** liberal".
